  1. I don't think I'd even call Michael Jordan "sexy", much less Yi. I'd pick a different adjective.
  2. Quote: And here i thought 9'.5" was higher than 8'11". I guess i have been wrong the whole time. Thank you for clearing that up. You're arguing this vociferously about 1.5"?! If measurables were all that mattered Kevin Durant goes undrafted last night.
  3. Quote: Time will tell. But I guarantee Yi will be a better player, this year and forever. Did you get the scoop from the chair he's been playing against for 2 months? Seriously though, the dude and his handlers only hurt themselves. At the very least he should have gone through the measurement and drills at the combine. Even Oden and Durant did that. Otherwise it appeared that there was something to hide. And since he slid to 6 the Hawks weren't the only team that felt so.
  4. Isn't the Wolfman dead? I can see it now... Ask for Donna. No, ask for Al.
  5. Crap. I was feeling good about it.
  6. Quote: Portland is going to be sick. That is what happens when you win the lottery the year a once in a generation center is there. Fixed that for you. Seriously, put Oden at C for us and an ECF is possible. Portland has made other great moves too but as Duncan in '97 showed it's better to be lucky then good.
  7. Boston just made their worst move since JJ for Delk/Rogers. At least they were sniffing the Finals then. Now they've mortgaged their future for two first exits at maximum. Ainge/Rivers make BK/Woody look like Auerbach. They needed to trade Pierce while his value is still high, not acquire a declining player in a flawed playoff gasp.
  8. Quote: So now we have 5 pgs under contract (if you count Salim) and 4 short PF....brilliant. Yes, because Horford and Shelden can't spend minutes at C. Uh huh... I can't figure out what people expected. We had picks 3 and 11, not 1 and 4. How we were supposed to solve everything in one night?
  9. Teams put such a premium on size that it was the most likely scenario. Once Hibbert pulled out it really made #11 worthless for PF/C pickings.
  10. Quote: I just don't think Law was the PG we needed. So what if he was the most NBA ready PG. We should have gone with Stuckey or else just taking Julian Wright and traded Childress for a veteran PG. Law will come off the bench and make a few shots...so what. I don't think we've done anything to solve our PG position. Hopefully we can combine Shelden and Law and ship them out to a team for a decent PG. Stuckey? He's no more of a PG than JJ and we know that didn't work. Why do you have Law coming off the bench but not Stuckey or Wright? Law has a far better chance of beating out Speedy and Lue than the others will beat out JJ or Marvin.
  11. Where is it stated they can't be traded, or Shelden and Childress for that matter? Who says one or both weren't picked for someone else? BK's brief trade dismissal is meaningless, aside from making it doubtful to happen tonight. I'm not saying anything will happen but with July 1st changing certain circumstances, I'd wait until at least then to assume things are set in stone.
  12. When Hibbert pulled out of the draft the numbers just didn't work for a PG at 3...as much as I do like Conley. Horford/Law > Conley/Thaddeus Young
  13. I'm willing to wait for conclusive evidence on our (in)actions but the Hawks horrible PR department lets them look like fools .
  14. It's amazing. The no brainer that united the Horford, Yi and Conley factions may have been scuttled by our ridiculous "braintrust". Lord I hope this doesn't turn out to be the case.
  15. Java works fine...however the connection to irc.chat4all.org 6667 never goes through.
  16. When an ownership no longer serves the needs of the fanbase it is incumbent upon said fanbase to rise up in violent revolution if necessary. We have the passion and the numbers to do so at Philips tonight. Fight da powuh!
  17. Quote: Considering that the 6'9" measurement was without shoes on combined with the fact that he plays basketball with his shoes on along with the fact that no player's listed height is without shoes, then saying that Al Horford is a 6'9" forward is a flat out lie. Then Woodson is a liar...or an idiot. I'm leaning toward idiot.
  18. True, but if other suitors are starting to get involved it gives more credence to the idea that Atlanta's fractured ownership is holding back the trade not Kerr wanting to keep Amare. Minnesota negotiated with the Hawks first and we provide by far the most attractive trade package, so why involve Charlotte unless there's hangups on our end? It was 50/50 whether my family would move to Atlanta or Chicago in 1984. For my sanity I sometimes wish this franchise hadn't gotten its hooks into me.
  19. I just threw up in my mouth reading this: Quote: The Wolves have contacted the Charlotte Bobcats to try to help facilitate a deal for Garnett, one day after a potential three-way deal with the Phoenix Suns and the Atlanta Hawks hit a roadblock. According to sources, the Wolves are asking the Bobcats to give up the No. 8 pick along with an undisclosed player. In the proposed deal, Garnett would go to Phoenix, and the Suns would send Amare Stoudemire to Charlotte. The Bobcats would also be required to take Suns guard Marcus Banks. The Bobcats have been offering the No. 8 pick to various teams for weeks and have several offers. If they can't get something worked out with Minnesota and Phoenix before the draft, the Bobcats will likely move the pick in another deal, a source said. However, a source in Phoenix continues to maintain that the team has not had any conversations about trading Stoudemire. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2919016
  20. I would actually be happy with any of Conley, Horford or Yi at #3. Why? Because I have no idea who will be the best player. Guess what else...neither does Billy Knight, Jerry West, Chad Ford, Jay Bilas, Diesel or Walter. Anyone who says otherwise is an outright liar.
  21. Quote: Quote: Quote: How's it a racist statement? Having more fans attending the game will increase traffic and therefore more accidents. I don't see where you're coming from. You don't want the Hawks to have more fans? Winning games will bring more fans, are you against winning games too? I'd love to have more Hawks fans, not Yi fans/Hawks and Rockets fans Why not? If we drafted Horford or Noah would you shun Gator fans? You know, these Yi fans may well become true Hawks fans. Who cares how they got here? The more, the merrier...
  22. So you mistitled your thread just so more people would read your rant and had to make a racial comment as well. Nice.
  23. Would prefer Amare or Gasol/Calderon but... #3 Horford/Yi #11 Conley/Critt/Law Package #11 & Chillz for Conley if he's picked 6-10.
  24. Platitude Central so far. Yi needs weight...at 238-240 now. Conley great but "without a jumpshot". "Feel good" about Speedy & Lue. Horford 6-9 NBA ready 4/5. About Belkin: "I can't control the things happening around us." Quasi-confirmation?
