  1. I go to Auburn University (which is near Columbus) and I am getting the same thing.
  2. You might want to look at Smoltz's numbers for his first two years. They hardly resembles the troubles that Davies has been having: http://www.baseball-reference.com/s/smoltjo01.shtml His second year in the league he was an All-Star... Davies has really good stuff but does not have the confidence to be a solid MLB pitcher.
  3. If you look later on in the replies, it says that he is a 13 year old and that was when he was 12. At the same time, I think it mentioned that was a Pee Wee National Championship game so he is smokin' the best youngsters in the nation. Unbelievable blocking for him too if you look at the O-Line and #20
  4. Not that I don't trust you, but can you provide a link? I am looking for it, but no luck so far.
  5. A lot of people here were thinking that we would grab Kapono from the Heat considering that Woody said we needed a shooter. The Raptors just signed him for 4 years, $24 million. Thoughts? http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2922597
  6. Even if we trade Marvin, I can't imagine Josh Smith at SF again.
  7. What about 3/Childress+ZaZa for 5/Jefferson? I'd do that and get Conley with the 5th. That would be NASTY, but might be a pipe dream.
  8. Hopefully they will be smart owners and use the money that they earn and put it back into the Hawks. Still, I would think that more money would be earned through Amare Stoudamire (barring injury) than Yi. If the Hawks are successful, they make more money. It is that simple. Unfortunately, they can still make some money without the Hawks doing well (like getting Yi).
  9. Agreed, so I am guessing that you cannot comment or do not know anything about how they are currently interacting?
  10. There are conflicting reports on why JJ bolted from Phoenix, one being that Amare ripped on him during a game and JJ didn't like it. If this blockbuster deal works out, are we in for a soapopera if we have them on the same team again? Obviously having Amare would be nothing short of nasty if we can keep our core intact (looks like we would), but would it be a mistake because of JJ and Amare's shaky relationship? Any comments? Sothron?
  11. Nevermind, I see vd's scenario in the Latest Information thread. If we could get Calderon for Chill and send them both picks, I'd be very pleased.
  12. I hope we can keep that 11th pick somehow and get the best PG available. I'd send Marvin over there and fillers with the #3 pick. Would that be enough?
  13. #3/Childress for #5/Jefferson would make my day, but I'm not sure Boston does it.
  14. Yea I guess it all depends on who we trade with. Personally, I'd love to get Hawes and a legit PG at 11 if we could, but we will see.
  15. Would we go for Conley? Even though I like him a lot, I think we might be going after Noah or Hawes because of the gluttony of PGs around our 11th pick. Any thoughts?
  16. This is the best offseason plan I have seen so far if it all worked out. It sounds pretty realistic but I am not sure that Denver would go for it. I know they are trying to stay off of the luxury tax line, but I still don't know if they would do it. Good plan though!
  17. He hasn't lived by me for very long, I think it has been since he retired. His house is pretty new, big, and nice but not over the top. Flowery Branch is not really close to Sandy Springs. It is right off of the 285 and 75 connector near Roswell Road (if that helps). From what I hear from the guys at my athletic club, he is a really classy guy (no surprise there). I must admit, I am still living with my parents over the summer bc I go to auburn.
  18. Wow, that is very ironic. I turned 21 in March and I live right by Steve Smith (the street right after his house). Unfortunately, I didn't get an internship with the Falcons this summer. But I will be playing in a summer basketball league with Steve Smith this summer.
  19. I would much rather have him at the helm than Woodson. Thoughts?
  20. But I firmly believe that Josh Smith wants to stay in Atlanta because that is where he grew up. I would tell him once the ownership situation gets settled to request a long-term deal. The way he is playing, he could get big money. It will help to get him secured ASAP so we can decide what to do with JChill and Marvin.
  21. After reading an ESPN Insider post and watching some of the All-Star coverage, David Stern seems like he is eager for the NBA to approve a franchise for Las Vegas. What the Insider post told me was a bit disconcerting when I thought about it. There was some interest for the Maloof brothers (who own casinos in Las Vegas) to have a franchise there. But the city of Sacramento really wants to keep their franchise, so they might sell and try to get a franchise for Las Vegas. It said that if a franchise were to be formed it would be an existing one. Stern said there were no ailing franchises, but a "struggling" franchise might be moved to Nevada. I cannot think of a situation in the NBA that is as terrible as ours in the front office. I hope that this is not the long-term situation for the Hawks as I realize if this were to happen, it would be a while. http://insider.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index...ht&lid=tab1pos2 Opinions?
  22. Joe Johnson 23 points + Royal Ivey 3 points + Josh Childress 15 points + Marvin shooting 35% from the field - Total number of 3's made by Hawks 4.5 + Gerald Wallace 9.5 rebounds - Adam Morrison 18 points - Shelden Williams 6.5 rebounds + Josh Smith 3.5 blocks -
  23. This is the best year for the Braves to have little activity. The FA market is unbelievably inflated, we are getting a lot of people back from injury, and we resigned Wickman (our closer) before the season ended. The one deal that we did was an absolute steal (R. Soriano for H. Ramirez). Because of our tight payroll, we didn't waste our money on overpaid players. I love what the Braves have done this offseason and we will definitely compete within the NL East!
