  1. And nevermind. Trading the pick, Jerian Grant, to NY for Hardaway Jr.? Not sure what to make of it all.
  2. And I'm looking at this with rose colored glasses. I like the Oubre pick. I'm just hoping that we're doing this for a reason. I'm hoping that we're trading down to still get the player we really want along with a cheaper salary and 2 future 2nd rounders (which have been pretty valuable for us the past couple of years).
  3. Yeah, it won't save a ton. But it could be enough to make a difference for us.
  4. Cheap ass ownership... right. Whatever. We won 60 games last season with everyone complaining that the ownership was cheap for years. I'll take that all day. How did the "non-cheap ass" teams do? Nets, Lakers, Knicks, etc.
  5. 2nd round picks have been pretty good for the Hawks. Muscala and Scott have worked out pretty damn well so far for 2nd rounders.
  6. Keep in mind that the pick has financial ramifications as well. Dropping to the 19th pick could get the player that they really want for less money. That could make it easier to sign free agents. I was personally happy with the Oubre pick though.
  7. He needs to be 100% when he comes back so that we can make this push through the playoffs. I want a 60 win season, but I want to win games in the playoffs more. I hope he comes back soon, but only if he is really ready. We have some sub-500 teams left to play before the playoffs. I'm hoping we can get on a nice little roll going at the end of the season.

    The difference

The difference is that they hit their shots and we didn't. We also had a bunch of abnormal turnovers (like Teague overpassing Millsap on the break). Horford missed a ton of shots in that first half that he almost always drains. He was like 1 for 7 or something crazy and he would normally be 5 for 7. We also missed a bunch of close ranged shots that we usually make. It also seemed that we didn't move the ball as well as we usually do. Our players got jammed up at times (kudos to GS) and it seemed like we did more ISO than usual when the shot clock start running down. We are usually good about not getting frustrated when we get behind, but we just weren't ourselves last night. Bottom line. The series with them is split. Let's hope that we can somehow finish with a better record than them. Home court is going to be absolutely critical IF we are lucky enough to make it to the finals. Golden State is 31-2 at home. That is incredible. Two teams have beat them there all season. Let's not freak out that we weren't one of them. 4 teams have beat us at home (30-4) all season. Golden State wasn't one of them.
  9. We have a tough stretch over the next 3 games. I think we win all three though. We seem to always step up against the best teams. I think we will clinch first in the East when we beat the only team we haven't beaten yet this season.
  10. Lillard went off for 13 points on 6 for 20 shooting. I wonder why he got snubbed for the all-star game...
  11. No freaking kidding! I don't think I have ever been this excited for a 3pt shootout out contest... ever! Screw everything else. I hope Korver puts a beat down on them!!!!
  12. Just heard that Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry are in for the 3pt shootout! I can't wait to see that showdown with Korver!
  13. I think Lance played himself into a smaller contract this off-season. Take his antics with that (blowing on Lebron, really?) and his value should be at an all time low. I would definitely take a chance on him with a 2 year reasonable contract (6m per or something with a player option for a third). Let him prove that he can change and that he's worth a larger contract when he's 25. I think Bud can help him with that maturity issue along with the other veterans we have on the team. Max I would spend would be 6-7m per year on a shortish contract. Anything else and he can walk his happy ass over to a lottery team that has nothing to lose.
  14. Time to "Shock the World!"
  15. I can't wait to see what we do in the Playoffs. I can't wait to see what moves Ferry makes in the off-season between the draft and free agency. And I especially can't wait to see a healthy team with a year of experience with Coach Bud next year. I have full confidence in the direction we're heading right now. I just wish I could fast forward time to see the results!
  16. It's too bad there isn't a reporter somewhere that could update the world on his injury...
  17. I'm not a doctor or anything and I only saw a short replay at the end of the game, but it almost looked like he dislocated his right shoulder. I think it was his right (I was several beers in at that point lol).
  18. Hells yeah!!! And many more Gray Mule!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

    #TankForWiggins

That's a great point. Maybe we'll barely miss the playoffs and get really lucky. Ha ha ha! Yeah right.
  20. Take your own advice and read what I'm saying. Don't just jump to conclusions. I'm not arguing for or against tanking. Both methods have worked for teams in the past. All I'm saying is that nothing is guaranteed and either strategy requires some luck. Again, either strategy requires some luck. Where is Orlando if they got the 2nd pick instead of the 1st? Picking Okafor like Charlotte did. Who did Houston tank to get? (I seriously don't remember). They got lucky and had an opportunity to go after Harden. A player like him isn't always available. The Harden, Dwight, Garnett/Allen, and Lebron/Bosh scenarios are rare occurrences and still require some luck in being able to take advantage of them.I'm all for getting a top 3 pick. I'm all for hoarding young talent and trading/signing for great veterans. But deciding to do that doesn't guarantee it will happen. And rebuilding like Ferry is doesn't guarantee success beyond mediocrity either. And that's fine that your opinion is that it does, but there's a failed attempt at that strategy for every one of them that's a success. At least give Ferry a chance to be successful. Damn! It's not like he didn't get rid of our worse two contracts, still make the playoffs when everyone said we wouldn't, got a widely respected head coach, and was able to pick up some young talent for future use. He's been on the job for what? 12 months. He's been changing the Hawks image since his first day on the job. It just happens that our image was pretty bad and is going to take awhile.
  21. My sentiments exactly. I really like Smoove. I hope he does really well and makes the all-star team. He deserves it. I will enjoy rooting against him when we play Detroit though!
  22. Nothing is signed. It's a verbal agreement and could change to a sign and trade. Teams can't sign anyone until the 10th. He probably walks for nothing, but Detroit might want to sign and trade to save some money or something.
