  1. derrick rose is the real deal we need to somehow get a draft pick next year
  2. Quote: I haven't heard anything else since yesterday. I do hope we can land Amare but even if we keep both our picks our franchise will be stronger than it was last year. didnt you say there where two trade scenarios we see amare is one but what about the other trade is that one still alive?

    Belkin Strikes!

Quote: Three-team deal with Garnett, Stoudemire cools By Chad Ford ESPN.com (Archive) Updated: June 27, 2007, 10:57 PM ET Comment Email Print The Minnesota Timberwolves' attempts to get a great deal for Kevin Garnett hit a major roadblock on Wednesday afternoon, sources told ESPN.com. According to multiple sources, the Timberwolves have been talking to multiple teams about finding a third team to help facilitate a Garnett trade. As ESPN.com reported on Tuesday evening, Minnesota was looking to acquire Atlanta's No. 3 and No. 11 picks in the draft along with several cap-friendly contracts from the Hawks and Phoenix Suns. To participate, Atlanta wanted Amare Stoudemire from Phoenix. On Wednesday, sources say one of the Hawks owners vetoed a hypothetical deal for Stoudemire. The Suns claim to have never had any direct contact with the Hawks about a deal. While they have shown strong interest in acquiring Garnett, the deal never reached a stage where they were asked by either team to give up Stoudemire and never offered him in a trade. While teams like the Lakers and Suns will continue to pursue Garnett, and the Wolves seem intent on trading him, sources say that it's unlikely a deal goes down by the time of the draft. The latest drama in the KG saga shows some of the perils of dealing with the Hawks -- arguably the most dysfunctional franchise in the league. The Hawks ownership group, Atlanta Spirit LLC, is embroiled in a nasty lawsuit with former partner Steve Belkin. Belkin won a lawsuit against Atlanta Spirit LLC last summer and a judge ruled that he could buy out the owners of Atlanta Spirit and gain full ownership of the team. Atlanta Spirit is currently appealing the ruling. In the meantime, Belkin holds some authority over the team. He can veto any trade or free agent signing that takes the team above the NBA salary cap. Several sources suggested that it was Belkin who vetoed the trade. This fiasco isn't the only situation the Hawks are dealing with. Sources said that Hawks general manager Billy Knight is in a dispute with some of the Hawks owners over who to take at No. 3. Knight prefers Florida's Al Horford. Some in the Hawks ownership, including influential owner Michael Gearon Jr., want to draft Yi Jianlian out of China. this is exactly what chad said on the radio reading this pisses me off
  4. Quote: Chad Ford said we have a dysfunctional ownership situation. He stated that there is a major rift between owners, coaches and others as to who we pick at #3. There is a huge faction for Yi and there is another huge faction for Horford. HOWEVER.... They said absolutely nothing about Steve Belkin at all. They just re-capped everything at 9:45PM. they left the steve belkin part out
  5. i thought it was reported that we shot that deal down
  6. i saw amare tear apart tim duncan at the age of 22 i think hes upside is better im excitied just thinking about it
  7. how can you say yi is more talented than marvin williams when you havent seen the guy play more than one game yi hasnt provin anything and people are ready to bench marvin
  8. Quote: Apparently their first offer was #3, #11, Smoove and Chill for Gasol. Knight is trying to lower that demand to not include Smoove. I'm guessing (please note this is Sothron spitballing here) that this is where the earlier reports of Smoove being possibly dealt came from this first trade offer from Memphis. I know one of my sources hinted two weeks ago or so that Smoove and Chill might be moved so I'll take a stab and say this is where that came from. what would we have to give up to get amare stoudemire?
  9. has anyone on this board every seen this man play?
  10. texas s&c program has more to do with the low bench numbers.. lamarcus aldridge struggled in that area also when he came out from what i heard
  11. Quote: Quote: I love Horford. Always have. But this is the same mistake we made last year. Not in that Horford doesn't have NBA starter if not star ability. He has that. The mistake is in thinking a Pf will work for us at center. Too many people thought that SW could (KB, you only thought so AFTER BK said so) and his shot blocking was attrocious. Horford is strong enough, but I still think we may have to do better given his short wingspan cancels some of the giddiness about power out. It's another SW omen. Short standing reach for a center! Even Hawes, a reasonable but not exceptionally long center prospect, is THREE INCHES LONGER THAN HORFORD! Also, Horford was the second slowest player listed in agility. Not sure that matters much though. I wouldn't mind taking Horford if we still went after a center through a trade. I think Horford would make a great Pf. W That's why Noah is #1 on my list. Sure Horford is taller than Shelden but it's only by an inch and Shelden was actually more impressive in the mass and strength department. With Noah we could finally have a legit 7 footer. HOw may guys in the NBA are a legit 7 foot? You can probably count them on one hand. Shaq, Gasol, and Yao are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head. Sure Noah doesn't have the typical weight for a C, but you can gain mass you can't gain height and athleticism. your a florida fan who do you think will be a better pro noah or harford?
  12. Quote: Quote: probably because of the combine results. True, but I never thought the guy was complete garbage like some around here suggested. Looking at his combine results, I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised. He was a lot stronger than I thought he would be. He was more athletic and a lot quicker than I thought he would be. I think he kinda got a bad rap this year. I'm starting to think that Noah's situation could be similar to that of a Charlie Villanueva(sp?) . Someone who appears to have the tools but gets overlooked due to unrealistic expectations in college. In Noah's defense, he played on a GREAT team which probably limited his chance to "shine" on an individual level. i was thinking about that also but i still think horford will be a better pro than noah
  13. Quote: He can't shoot, scouts question whether he'll ever be a great shooter, what about when he's 30 and his athleticism starts to go down? Crittenton will eventually be less TO prone, that's not a big issue, Wright will eventually gain the weight, thats not really a big issue, Horford...well I don't know what ya'll have against, you "conley heads" are just bahing him for nothing. Conley will never be a good shooter from what scouts say, and I rather take their word than any of yall. the scouts never said he will never be a good shooter they said it will take time which everybody knows i would say rite now thats hes only weakness but man you really do have alot of hate towards conley
  14. Blazers Say There Is No Pursuit Of Conley Jr 30th May, 2007 - 7:24 am The Oregonian - The Portland Trail Blazers suspect most of the misinformation flying around about their phantom pursuit of Mike Conley Jr. is coming from Camp Conley, which is run by Mike Conley Sr, The Oregonian is reporting. There is no pursuit, the Blazers said. They like Conley Jr., but they like their young nucleus even more. While it's true, a team source said, that the Blazers had a conversation with the Atlanta Hawks about their No. 3 pick, it was a single conversation that went nowhere fast. The Hawks apparently wanted two young Blazers (LaMarcus Aldridge and Jarrett Jack) along with Portland's first pick in 2008 as part of the trade.
  15. isnt that what the hawks been doing the last 10 years building for the future
  16. Quote: Conley might be a lock for 3, if we trade the pick to PTL or Memphis.. but I don't think Conley is the gaurd that BK would pick. I think he'd be all over Critt first, then Law.. then maybe Conley. BK prefers big (6'3 or better) PGs.. billy knight doesnt know what he wants derion williams was a big point guard and he passed bill knight contradicts himself alot

Crittenton's game is so completely OPPOSITE of Jack's, and actually very similar to Baron's. JC obviously isn't as good as Baron right now, but to think he doesn't have the potential to be is rediculous. i stand by what i said jc is no where near baron's level... Wow what a profound statement since Baron is an NBA vet and JC just finished his freshman year in college. The fact is that their college stats are very comparable. And Baron had the same question marks coming into the league that JC has now. Dont forget that Baron doesn't exactly have a spotless resume in the NBA. did u watch baron play at ucla baron talent was on another level.. baron is the most explosive point guard ive ever seen baron had crazy talent injuries slowed him down alot but hes still good.... thats "imo" we just disagree As a freshman Baron averaged 11.7 pts, 5 assists and 3.1 turnovers As a sophmore he averaged 15.9 pts, 5.1 assits and 3.3 turnovers. Yeah, Baron sure was on another level. im talking about talent man not stats So his talent was on another level but he just chose not to use it. OK what u mean he chose not to use it baron was the third pick in the draft comin out of college if u saw him play then you know how talented he was If his talent was on another level THEN WHY WASN'T HIS PRODUCTION ON ANOTHER LEVEL GENIUS? maybe because of injuries

  22. Quote: Quote: JC will be better than all of them in the long run. Law will be the best next year but the worst in 3 years. Pick your poison. I remember UCLA fans talking about how clueless Baron Davis was in college. And certainly he has been an underachiever in the pros. But he is punking Dallas badly right now. I don't know if JC's talent is quite up to Davis' level, especially in terms of playmaking. But that is who i think about when i consider JC's possible upside. jc is no where near baron davis level i would say he reminds me more of jarrett jack
  23. the jamaal anderson pick scares me because he seems like a one year wonder i guess that was the best the falcons could do at that point although i would of loved to see us draft patrick willis... this years draft was weak imo especially compared to last year but i was happy with the second round picks and now we can move jimmy to safety.
