  1. I bet Marty had all sorts of nice things to say about Marvin Williams and we know how that one turned out. Hawk88
  2. It is looking like there is a chance this guy could be available at 19. Can play G or SF and has an NBA body, fairly complete player, maybe not the best shooter but a great defender. I wonder if he might be able to play some point and be able to overmatch these smaller point guards down low. I would think he could really be a valuable player on this team with so many players potentially gone. Anyone else thing it might be smater to go with a guy like this and sign a proven free agent point? And if we can bring David Anderson over could be a really good offseason. Hawk88

    Casspi

I am for drafting Casspi at 19 so that we can let Marvin walk or trade him. I think we need to upgrade the SF position and a big and a pg are probably longshots for us at 19. Hawk88
  4. What's the freaking point of working these kids out when you are trying to sell the pick. Hawks are clueless. I think the Hawks are just scared to make any more picks. The Adam Keefe, Rumeal Robins, Priest (&*( list just keeps getting longer and longer. Hawk88
  5. Yeah, I would think the judge would be ashamed. Hawk88
  6. Just saw a video on Rubio. The kid is the whole deal, hotdog, ketchup mustard with onions, pickles and relish. I have no idea how he is going to do in the NBA but visions of Ben Stein trying to make a shot off Shaw are coming to mind. Hawk88
  7. Okay here is the moves I think we might be able to make. 1st we need a true star. Bottom line is this team doesn't have it. Step 1, trade Smith for Bosh straight up. Hopefully you can get Bosh to sign an extentions but this is a cost cutting move that actually saves you money. Step 2, Trade Horford for teh No. 2 pick, take Rubio. Potentially we now have a few stars depending on your definition, Bosh, Rubio and Johnson. Step 3 Sign David Anderson to play center. Step 4. Sign backup lowpost free agent along the lines of a Zaza. Step 5. You can fill in more pieces once you have stars in place. Folks move to where they see championship potential. More Ford

This franchise is a freaking joke. You trade the team poster promo home kid for cap space? I am laughing because I don't want to cry. Mike Woodson is your coach. You are trying to give away your 1st round pick because all you can do with it is make a bad pick. What an incredible bunch of incompetant aholes. Hawk88
  9. The Hawks are so cheap. I can see them just sitting there and not drafting anybody, letting the draft pass them by so that they don't have to pay anybody anything. Of course the way they draft, it's probably the smart move. Ala the Minnesota Vikings but don't draft anybody. Is there a rule that the Hawks have to draft somebody or are they on the clock for eternity? Hawk88
  10. Amazing, Billy Knight is going to screw up another pick and he isn't even around! Hawk88
  11. Our lousy as crap Owners trying to save a buck? Say it aint so! Hawk88
  12. Is there that much difference between these tow. Size, quickness, strenght, shooting? Beside's Lawson's toe injury these two guys look pretty interchangable. I see mocks with Flynn going around 10 and Lawson being available at 19. I am totally against taking a pg because we have proven we can't develop one, but Lawson is very experienced. I would think he should get serious consideration if he is available at 19. Hawk88
  13. Give me a break, Orlando choked like Greg Norman! Orlando got plenty of calls to boot. Hawk88
  14. Their move is exactly how I think you have to look at the draft. They took a pg even though they had Felton. Now they have a trading chip and a better PG. Love Augustine. Hawk88
  15. I like Augustine and the fact that they took him. Look at the flexability they have to deal now. I actually love that move for them. Hawk88
  16. Marvin is not a fair example. He was totally misassessed. All the talk about him being a great athlete. Hawks bought the hype. Best available player was easily Chris Paul, then Deron Williams. It just so happened that the BPA and our need were the same player, and Billy Knight outthought himself. Makes it an even dumber move. Hawk88
  17. Okay but they traded away their starting center for a 17 year old kid. I would say their player evaulatio and development is light years ahead of the Hawks. Hawk88 P.s. I can't stand Kobe or the Lakers. I am just sick of all our draft picks sucking and they players they pick up blossoming.
  18. That is a stretch to say their starting lineup wasn't from the draft. With the trade for Kobe the Lakers started the whole drafting high school players frenzy. And Bynum wasn't starting because of injury. The Lakers drafting is about as good as it gets. Hawk88
  19. I don't agree if you think you might be losing Joe next year anyway. Hawk88
  20. I never hear him say much of anything that isn't obvious. I also wonder how he got such a nice job. Even though his dad was big. Hawk88
  21. This isn't the NFL, if you see a guy who fits your system and you think he can make it, just take him and don't get cute by trying to trade back. A snowball has a better chance to make it in hell than a Hawks 2nd rounder in the NBA. I don't know who they should take. I am leaning towards Thornton or Earl Clark. I also liked the analysis but probably way to sufisticated for the Hawks. They will probablly just take a guy from either North Carolina or Duke, I have no idea why. Hawk88
  22. I agree, thin all over. What about Earl Clark. Looks like he can play the SF and eventually the PF positons. Hawk88
  23. I think you are making a good point in that you have to draft a guy with strengths that will complement your system. I think the Hawks are always looking for the total package and if you use a guy right he doesn't have to do it all. I am amazed how often the stinking Lakers get it right. When they draft high school kids they go with Kobe and Bynum. Then they take kids like Ariza, Walton, Farmar and work them into their system. Maybe we should just draft the best available UCLA player. I think our odds on getting a contributor might go up. Hawk88
  24. Has anyone else noticed that Draft Express has us taking Earl Clark at 19 and compare his upside to Marvin. Below are the attributes for Earl Clark. Does anyone else see these having much to do with Marvin? - Mismatch Potential - Pick and roll play - Transition play - Ability to create own shot - Ball-handling skills w/either hand - Excellent hands - Ability to contest shots - Lateral quickness - Pick and roll defense - Shot-blocking skills - Versatility to defend multiple positions - Huge upside - Positional versatility - Court vision - Passing skills - Body control - Excellent first step - Explosiveness - NBA body - Size for position - Wingspan - Offensive rebounding Earl does look a little like Marvin in the face, maybe they are the same height. Hawk88
  25. I think you are wrong on this. You always take the BPA even if it is an area of strenght because if you have depth you can deal for what you need and be getting a proven commodity. The draft is a crap shoot and we miss it about 75% of the time. Take the best player and then make a deal. Hawk88
