  1. At 19 you have to draft the best NBA player availabe, not necessarily a need position. Ala the portland trailblazers who are loaded and deep. Just because you have a good PF, you don't pass on another good one. Get all the best players available and you have more to deal with. Blair at 19 would be a very good pick. There are not a lot of sure things at 19. I wouldn't mind any positon as long as he is going to be an NBA player. What positon could we not use more depth and it wouldn't give us better abilities to trade. Free agency is where you fill pieces. The draft is where you get good players for you team regarless of positon. Hawk88
  2. If Hansborough plays for a good team he will shine. If he winds up with the Hawks he will suck. Some teams know how to develop players and have players fill roles. The Hawks, Not So Much................... Hawk88
  3. Sorry Alex Mack is the stud Center not Unger.
  4. We all talk about defense but this team really needs some more O line help. Very very thin at that position. Hawk88
  5. Looks like we are all reading the same mock drafts. I have seen only a few of these guys play and am reading the hype like the rest of them. Michael Jonson, I wish I could short the guy like a stock, he is way to lanky to play. He might be a good field goal block specialist as a 7th rounder. For the fun of it I went back and checked out the Patriots draft history to see if I could get a flavor for what type of player they liked thinking Dimitrov would be thinking along the same lines. Nothing really stood out to me except for the fact that as successful as they have been the draft is an incredible crapshoot. So many patriots draft prospects that I have never heard of. Then I checked out the falcons players and the amazing numbers of draft busts. I am just amazed at what a crapshoot the draft is and how much I love tracking it. My pics for Falcons not just on need but value Round 1 - Unger, Center Oregan (All-Pro, beef up the OL) Pettigrew makes Ryan better. Round 2 - Maola (Solid contributor) Marks w/ Auburn is very good with some injury concerns. Round 3- Casey, TE Rice - If gone god D maybe Asher Allen or best DB available Round 4 -Kevin Barnes CB, Maryland Round 5 -Casillas OLB Wisconsin or Zack Follet OLB California Round 5 - Jerraud Powers DB Auburn Round 6 -I have not idea, who am I kidding at this point If the 1st pick is offense it makes Ryan a whole lot better even though we need the defensive help. 6. Is it just me or does there not seem to be a ton of very good players in the 2nd and 3rd rounds? Love the Pats philosphy of loading up on those 2nd rounders. All those players can really help us. I would like to see up drop back 10 or so spaces and pic up another pic. The differnece between 24 and 34 just doesn't seem like a whole lot. But then everyone might be trying to do the same thing. Hawk88
  7. Tractor Traylor would be fantastic. The guy is super quick with a big but ala Sir Charles. I think he is worth a pick as a banger at 19. Hawk88
  8. We don't need to draft a PG and screw up his life. We need to pick the best player available. We aren't so deep in any positon that we should get caught up in need instead of talent. This is why we currently have AC Law instead of Thaddeas Young on the team. We need depth so we need to pick a guy who can contribute. Hawk88
  9. I don't even see him getting drafted. Major bad move unless he wants to play overseas. Hawk88
  10. It would probably take Marvin and our 1st rounder to get to #10. And I would do it if I can get a good athletic G/F who plays D. I don't know about Pg's. The hawks cannot develop them. Hawk88
  11. Why is it before I even looked at this trade labeled "blockbuster" I knew Marvin would be included. News flash, trading Marving wouldn't be a blockbuster. He is an average player. Blockbuster would be traded JJ and or Horford. I would trade Marvin for a pick 12-14 in this years draft. Then maybe package our pics for around 7. Its clear how good Marvin is by the fact that the team has improved without him. Hawk88
  12. I'd like to see us get Evan Turner with Ohio State. I think he will be very good as an NBA player. Hawk88
  13. I think they might need to go secondary with the 1st pick. Delmas or a corner like a Sean Smith. If they feel their is a no. 1 corner at the 24 spot they should probalby take him. Then in the 2nd there should be some guys who slip that can help at DT's maybe Maloa or a good OLB in the 2nd round. There are quite a few good safety prospects in the 2nd, Chung, and R. Johnson with Alabama. Jerry in round 1 wouldn't be the end of the world. I think whichever they pick they are going to have good options in round 2. Funny how we see these names floating around and we will probably get a curveball on draft day. Ala Harry Douglass. Hawk88
  14. What outside linebacker would you like to take at 24? I assume Cushing is gone.
  15. I agree, Defense firt 2 rounds and round 3 will be a great spot to pick up a TE. Jared Cook in round 3 would be a major steal. Ingram I like in round 4 or 5. I wouldn't reach for the TE though, should be able to get one in round 4 or 5.
  16. I want the Falcons to get Ingram out of Florida for TE.
  17. I would like to see the Falcons take Conner at 24. Then take best OLB or DT in the second round. Jared Cook might be a good pickup in the second would be a steal in the 3rd. I also like the TE out of Florida Ingram if we could get him in the 5th. Probably need an offensive lineman in there but I wouldn't be upset if we went defense, defense, defense. I don't think we take an OLB high unless somebody like Cushing is sitting there at 24. Maybe another LB in the 3rd or 4th rounds. But with the way the Falcons drafted last year, I am going to enjoy and give them the benefit of the doubt regardless of who they pick. Hawk88

    Marvin's Back

I heard on the radio that Marvin's back injury might be serious and season ending. This scenario is sounding like the Dermar Johnson saga. Marvin may never fulfill him immense potential now that his back is hurt. yeah, yeah, yeah. Another injury saves the kid's ego. Just watching Marvin walk around, his posture has always looked bad. Another Hawk top pick bites the dust. Hawk88
  19. This team can be scary good, seriously. Bibby and Joe Johnson are playing like all-stars. J. Smith can be better than anyone when his head is on straight. Horford -Passion. M. Williams- Looking better. Bench; Zaza-great year IMO. M. Evans, great 6th man, super D. R. Murray can give the scoring. This team has really improved. Could give anybody trouble in the playoffs. Hawk88
  20. Josh is a head case. The guy was a good free throw shooter the last couple of years. Now he gets up there and clunks them. I think he is saying, would you rather see me throw up bricks from behind the 3pt. line or at the charity stripe. Seriously, if Al can't light this guys fire we need to unload him. Hawk88
  21. Foxworth just signed a big deal with the Ravens. Crap. Hawk88
  22. Tough loss, on the last play. JJ had made I don't know how many straight shots it seemed but he just got out of positon at the end. Tough break, great comeback and game. I don't fault any of them. Played spunky. Very impressive. My heart came out of my throat. Imagine how the Denver fans must have felt seeing JJ with the bal inside of 10 feet of the basket. Oh well. Ce la vie@! But great game. Hawk 88
  23. Smith's head was not in the game. Clunching the foul shots was a sign. I didn't see the alteracation but when a guy misses 6 free throws, he needs to sit down. The sourpuss should have been traded. Hawk88
  24. Yeps, We had the No. 2, No. 3, and two No. 6 pics and didn't come out of them with a star. Good players but no star. Should have put some kind of package together to get Chris Bosh in my opinion. Hawk88
  25. Win now. Acie will never be jack for the Hawks. I would trade him in a second for Bass, but I don't think Dallas would do that deal.
