Folks like Kiper put to much weight into slotting these guys. If he can help your team this year and immedietly productive at a high level I say take him. Sure I would love to get him in round 2 but he might even go at the end of round 1 with Pittsburg. If you take care of your big need in round 1, it opens up what you can do for the rest of the draft. I think Brace could have a big immediete impact. A lot like Raji, but a whole lot cheaper. Hawk88

I think I really like Ron Brace of BC. The guy is an anchor and can really clog up the middle. Should contribute from day 1. Next we need a stud OLB taking the best available. I think these should be our priority. Hawk88

Connor Barwin of Cincinnati is an outside linebacker/defensive end who may project as a tight end in the NFL. He is over 6-3 1/2 weight 256 and runs a 4.66 40. This is pretty amazing size and speed. Could this guy play 3 positions of need for the Falcons. Spot tight end duties, defensive end and/or outside linebacker. The guy looks big fast, has a great motor and is very athletic. Very intriguing to me. We would have to take him in round 1 to get him unless we can trade back a few spots, but New England may like him at 23. Hawk88

Hawks need to forget about drafing another point guard. They have no ability to judge talent or develop it. How many teams are there that passed on Tony Parker, J. Tinsley, C. Paul, D. Williams, C. Duhon? The list goes on and on. And then they draft Acie Law. I would bet that if the hawks draft a pg, he will be a bust. They need to sign pg's that other teams have developed. Hawk88

The point of this series is pretty mute knowing that whoever wins takes on Cleveland and nobody is keeping Cleveland from the conference finals. I wish the Hawks had lost more games to come in at seeds 6,7 or 8. The 4-5 slot is a bad slot this year. Hawk88

The other thing about brining in Gonzalez it that this creates a winning atmosphere in that he is being brought in to win now. If this can sway other free agents who don't want max money but want to win a championship then it could be a big plus. Since I would think he has only 2-3 good years left I would hope to maybe give up a 3rd rounder for him. Hawk88

Here are my thoughts on the Falcons drafting by slots instead of players based on what I have read about the strenth of talent and where I think you can find diamonds in the rough and where you need to draft high to get talent. Round 1 Cornerback (Butler) Round 2 Defensive Tackle (Miloa) Round 3 Safety (BPA) Round 4 Outside Linebacker (Follet, Harris) Round 5 Tight End (Gronkowski or similar) Round 5 Offensive Lineman (Diamond in the rough/heart player) Round 6 BPA (Best Player available regardless of positon) Hawk88

He does play like Pistol, head down dribbling like his life depended on it. Let's say for argument sake the kids is a pistol clone. Because athletically that is about what this kid will be. How good would Pistol be in todays game? Hawk88

I am starting to think that if we can't trade back from the 24 spot, Pettigrew might be too good to pass up. This guy will really help our tackles hold off the rush. Most of the other tight ends are really big receivers. Pettigrew is practically a lineman who can receive, very old school but to add a good blocker would be a big bonus for the offense. Add another lineman somewhere in the draft and all other pics can go to D. Hawk88
