  1. Quote: Chris Paul & Deron williams- two great point guards the Hawks had a chance to get but NOOOOO. Why should they draft someone they really need when they can draft someone else who is still trying to find themselves. I'm getting sick all over again watching the Skills Competition. This has been repeated countless times already...
  2. Quote: Quote: I said that was the ROSTER, NOT the line up... I listed all of them as they were labeled on our website... Yeah but no way do we need that many more guys. We have a starting 5 and bench. I don't know how "Horford is all of a sudden on the bench now?" refers to the amount of players I wanted to bring in, so I guess I'm confused.
  3. Quote: Quote: Team Roster: PGs: Mike Bibby, Acie Law IV SGs: Joe Johnson, Salim Stoudamire, Mario West SFs: Marvin Williams, Josh Childress PFs: Josh Smith, Al Horford, Solomon Jones Cs: Zaza Pachulia I hear we have three roster holes, so obviously, looking at the roster, we need a big man [or two] and a spare guard [or two]. Al Horford is a bench player now? Starting Lineup Mike Bibby Joe Johnson Marvin Williams Josh Smith Al Horford Bench Acie Law Salim Stoudamire/Mario West Josh Childress Solomon Jones Zaza Pachulia Did you read my posts before??? I said that was the ROSTER, NOT the line up... I listed all of them as they were labeled on our website...
  4. Quote: I hope Solo doesn't get cut before he gets a legit shot. I agree with that. If Solomon Jones got cut without even being give enough chances to prove himself, I would be very disappointed.

Al Horford is our starting Center. Zaza is backup he is clumsy euro clown. Horford may be undersized at center but he plays hard and has alot of fire. We are find with Josh Smith and Al Horford at the 4 and 5. If Marvin doesnt pan out down the line Smoove will go to the 3 and Horf will go to 4 but for now we got Marvin Smoove and Horf as our front line. Smoove and Horf have been playing with alot of heart and fire down there even though there undersized I believe these guys are going to be really special down the line for us they are quicker then most guys guarding them at the 4 and 5 Sky is the limit for these Hawks. I said that was our ROSTER, not our line up.
  6. Quote: something "good" happens for this franchise and all of a considerable amount of you can do is whine. bah! i mean some of you really think the hawks are just so loaded we can pick and choose the perfect players to come play for this team. what was being said about gasol? he doesn't play defense, he's weak, he's european. well put him on a good team and views and attitudes on him changed pretty quickly. the hawks aren't as talented as the lakers and bibby probably doesn't have as much in the tank as gasol. BUT, he's a proven, experienced pg who can now help take some of the pressure off jj in the 4th. the best stretches for the hawks this season have come when aj or tlue has given the hawks decent production from the pg spot. now the hawks have someone who can contribute way better than either of those two on just about every night. also, most of the hawks losses have come because of their inability to hit a freakin shot late in the 4th quarter. now the hawks have a pg who can create for others as well as himself. i say this move alone guarantees the hawks a playoff spot. they still won't get far considering the coach. but the hawks should win in spite of him the way the roster is now constructed. be happy hawks fans. the future looks much better today than it did yesterday. think if bk can make one more trade by using some more assets to get a quality big or another shooter i.e. swing marvin and whoever to get miller. add some more beef or a shooter and then find a competent coach and this team can contend in the east. period. I don't think this exactly guarantees the Hawks a playoff spot, drama queen.

  8. How are we going to fill those three voids?
  9. What will the line up with minutes be with Bibby on the lineup?
  10. If Speedy wasn't injured right now, do you guys think he'd be playing behind Bibby or Law?
  11. So you guys think this trade will be approved by the end of today or no? I'm excited to see Bibby in a Hawks' uniform.
  12. Quote: I'll tell you what i love about the association mode, and what i find successful... Wait til the trade deadline and trade for bad teams picks(if its a good draft class especially) I usually prefer that than making blockbuster trades...unless you can get kevin durant Yeah, Kevin Durant is a beast in the game. So is Horford though, so I'm happy. For some reason, Acie Law is the leading rebounder of my team.
  13. Isn't 1PM in Sacremento time 3PM in Eastern time?
  14. Quote: That leaves three extra roster spots for the Hawks. What do you think we're going to do? Do you think we'll fill those roster spots after the trade any time soon? Just wondering what you guys think.
  15. This sounds good to me. Shelden still had potential, so I'm not so sure about that. I would of rather gotten rid of Zaza than Lorenzen, but that's just me. Starters Bibby, JJ, J-Smoov, Marvin, Horford Childress, Zaza, Acie, Stoudemire, Mario, Solo coming off the bench looks good. Is it just me or do we seem smaller after this trade?
  16. Hey, guys. It's another one of my NBA 2k8 trade ideas again, and I'm wondering if you guys can help me out by thinking of a blockbuster trade if I want to get rid of these players, you can choose as many/as least as you can: -Marvin Williams -Josh Childress -Anthony Johnson -Speedy Claxton -Tyronn Lue -Salim Stoudemire/Shelden Any ideas on how to improve this team? I didn't start the Association yet, but I'm just thinking of how I should trade these players away first because I don't like playing with them. Marvin never makes shots, Childress is too slow, AJ is too slow/no jump shot, Speedy and Tyronn are decent, but they seem like good trade pieces, and Salim/Shelden seem like good trade pieces as well. Remember, this is NBA 2k8. I'm not talking about real life here. I'm just askin for a little advice from a more educated Hawks fan. Thanks.
  17. Wow I played the first two games of my Association and was forced to sim them to the end because of how hard it was for me. Maybe cause it's been more than a month since I've played, but damn I suck. Even at pro mode, I couldn't make any J's by JJ... and him having one of the hardest shots to master in the game isn't helping the cause!
  18. This seems to be too good to be true if it were to happen. And like someone above me said, Memphis is very happy with Conley Jr. If this were to happen, I would be ecstatic. I wanted to draft Conley instead of Horford when we were drafting (I changed my mind about it after I saw Horford play the frst time in a Hawks jersey though), so I would be very happy.
  19. I really like Diop, and I think he is a tremendous defender. However, if we were to get a big man, I think we would more so get a low-post scoring center or power forward because that is our biggest need besides a veteran point guard IMO.
  20. This team is not a competitor team. The owners obviously don't care because if they did, they would be doing something about Woodson. It's become clear to me that the only purpose of this team is to not win a championship, but to just compete. Blame the ownership, blame the management, and blame the coach.
  21. Quote: I edit Horford and Smith and change their primary and secondary positions to what they actually play in reality. When Horford's primary position is changed to C his overal rating goes up by 1 point though none of the specific attributes change. They have Smith listed as a SG for seconday position and SF for primary position. If you change Smith's primary position to PF and secondary osition to SF his overall rating goes up 2 points wit no changes to specific attributes. It really doesn't change game play if your using Horford as your center and Smith at PF..........it just gives more weight for blocked shots as PF vs. a SF to help the # rating. Its not like your changing their natual attributes....... you are just changing the position they play and each position weighs certain attributes differently accordng to what attributes are desirable for a PG but may not be needed at C. Good post.
  22. Quote: The play of Acie was a lot of good coming out of last night. If there ever was a time to leave him in to close out the game, last night was it. Oh, well. I also thought Lo was solid and has been all year, when given the chance. He has great size and should be Al's backup every game. He actually knows how to box out and plays physical....something foreign to Zaza. Why doesn't Lo get more PT? Woodson likes to be stupid.
  23. Quote: With Woody coaching or without? coz with Woody coaching Law gets no burn and even at the beginning of the season he wanted to start Zaza when he eventually returned from injury... yeah... Ideal lineup... Law -32 minutes, JJ -36, Marvin -30, Smoove -34, Horf -34. Lue/AJ/Speedy -12, Salim 8, Chill 28, Shelden/Solo 12, Zaza/LO 16. Thanks for the reply. Good stuff. So Acie, JJ, Marvin, J-Smoov, and Horford will be starters. Chillz will be the sixth man. Zaza and Lo will be role players? Lue/AJ/Speedy/Shelden/Solo will all be benchwarmers? Thanks.
