  1. Josh was my favorite player. Cam is my favorite player now. Obviously I am a huge fan of defense/2 way players. Jalen Johnson just might be the offensive version of Josh Smith. Unlike Smoove we may scratch our head at times with Jalen on the defensive end. Once Jalen develops his offense though he may become the offensive player we wish Smoove was. I'm still waiting on the player that gets double digits in every stat. I don't even know what to call it (quince double) Pts, Rebs, Blks, Ast & Stls. Even still Jalen Johnson may have a great opportunity to reach that one of these days. Maybe he atleast does it in the G League. Either way can't wait for the season to start & all the promise that comes along with it!!
  2. I see a Hawks take over. If last season put us on the map this yr will solidify it. We are slowly but surely taking over the nba landscape and having Grant Hill in that position adds to it. Reading his statements also tells me that he knows what he's doing. It tells me Trae and possibly others (maybe JC) will be in the Olympics as well!! Soon people will see Hawks players everywhere Allstar games, playoffs, finals, olympics, all nba and we will get the credit for all the patience and diligence of work that we've done over the last 4/5 yrs. Teams will attempt to copy our model in many aspects of their building strategies.
  3. Honestly I think we're in a new era where too much is exactly the recipe. With pandemic restrictions, injuries and an 82 game season anything can happen. Having too much may be having just enough when it's all said and done (see last season). I do think Travis strikes if something becomes available and things aren't quite working. My biggest question is who are the stars/superstars actually worth it over our guys. LeBron is near the end of his peak. KD may have 4 yrs left. I don't see he or Giannis being made available anytime soon. Ja Morant is great but we have Trae. Which is why Luka would be out of the picture given our history. Zion is great but really how much is he better than JC for us and what will be the cost of the haul? Harden, KAT, Dame, Beal and numerous others may not be a great fit and are not the best defenders. Who is actually out there worth trading for and how would it help us more than hurt us? Those are the questions I ask myself and right now I just can't see anyone. Maybe Nathan Knight becomes a player we wish we still had but I could say that about the core that remains if we do happen to let them go.
  4. On record I agree with your number one. Number 2 for me is we win the Southeast Division Number3 is we get our 1st championship in Atlanta once it's all said and done next season.
  5. PG Trae Young SG Bogdan Bogdanovic SF DeAndre Hunter PF John Collins C Clint Capela PG Sharife Cooper SG Kevin Huerter SF Cam Reddish PF Jalen Johnson C Onyeka Okongwu PG Delon Wright/Mays SG Lou Williams SF Solomon Hill/ Wright PF Danilo Gallinari C Gorgui Dieng
  6. Starters PG Trae Young SG Cam Reddish SF DeAndre Hunter PF Jalen Johnson C John Collins Bench PG Delon Wright SG Bogdan Bogdanovic SF Kevin Huerter PF Danilo Gallinari C Clint Capela Reserves PG Lou Williams/ Sharife Cooper SG Skylar Mays SF Solomon Hill PF Gorgui Dieng C Onyeka Okongwu
  7. The training camp roster is filling out. We have Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot, Jahlil Okafor, Johnny Hamilton and A.J Lawson possibly battling for that final spot and filling out our training camp. They will have to really impress to get it. I could still see Travis keeping that spot open for Sharife, Mays or even just waiting to see how the team looks mid-season. With our rotations pretty much secure in every area to me the only thing missing is a 7fter. Trae, Delon, Lou, Sharife Bogi, Huerter, Mays Hunter, Cam, JJ JC, Gallo, Solo Clint, OO, Deing If Hamilton impresses enough I could see us signing Sharife for a cheap 3yr deal and giving Hamilton the two way. TLC could possibly get it as well and play an if necessary role like Solo for his vet presence and the fact that he's familiar with the competition (Nets). We'll see.... It's possible all 4 above get cut after training camp and we send Hamilton and Lawson to the G League. Either way we are in great position!! ps mods if this topic already exists can you please merge...
  8. I did want him in the draft but MPJ and Ben Simmons are pretty much the same player on different spectrums. One great on offense and one great on defense. Almost all of our players especially near his position are or are becoming 2way players. Great ones at that. We also have alot of players that can get buckets so it would be an unnecessary move. Even if Trae wanted to play with him I think even Trae realizes guys like JC/JJ would be a better pairing.
  9. When you're as deep as we are even the training camp bodies have to be nba ready and capable of making a squad. Doesn't mean they will make ours unless they prove themselves to be key assets that fit our team and system. Like Solo proved to do last year.
  10. I think we will see major improvement and confidence overall with our team. With our starters and bench we will put relentless pressure on teams on both ends of the court. I can see blowouts nightly with us being on the winning end. Possibly even alot of rested young legs or especially our vets as our way to load manage. With our confidence and favorable early schedule our high potential may be soon realized early during the season.
  11. Is Goodwin in training camp? Honestly it's the collection of moves that make it a masterpiece. If we're talking about best down the road/talent overall than I agree the rookies help us really double down on talent.
  12. I agree for the most part. 6 yrs of losing horribly and 3 yrs of winning unfortunately isn't that bad a rebuild in the nba smh... When they are down to their last (picked) player of "the process" after so many lottery attempts it's hard to call that a success though. Especially when everyone who built/started the process is gone. Depending on their next move they could very well eventually lose Embiid too and have to start the process all over again. I love the Hawks but if we went thru that many yrs of torment and bad records I definitely want the winning to trump that. If they don't get what they need from the Simmons trade (which looks very likely at this point) it will have to be heart breaking to a fan. Worse it was by a team that rebuilt way quicker and look to be a serious problem from here on. If anyone copies "the process" again I'd be highly surprised. To intentionally tank for that long without alot of major assets to show for it is just ridiculous.
  13. Grade A franchise running for A grade A team. They're going to learn we are the A Squad and they better bring their A game if they think they're competing with us from top to bottom.
  14. So you're telling me a squad of PG Jrue Holiday/Ben Simmons/Ish Smith/Markelle Fultz/MCW SG Jimmy Butler/Seth Curry/JJ Reddick SF (Ben Simmons)/Tobias Harris/Thaddeus Young PF Jerami Grant/Christian Woods/(Carl Landry, Ersan or Mike Scott/Al Horford) C Joel Embiid/Richaun Holmes/Dewayne Dedmon/Nerleons Noel Team couldn't contend I guess not with Brett Brown. Maybe Lloyd Pierce would've had a better start to his coaching career if he was hired as their head coach a few yrs earlier. Either way if they would've built with their best picks and players they could've still had a nasty team a lot earlier (especially when the East was weak) and not still be going thru a process.
  15. So pretty much you'd except Travis being Hinkie... Oh Hinkie couldn't even see it all the way thru. Say no more.
  16. Jrue Holiday, TJ Mc Connell, Markelle Fultz, Michael Carter Williams, Ish Smith, JJ Reddick, Jimmy Butler, Josh Richardson, Evan Turner, Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot, Robert Covington, Thaddeus Young, Wilson Chandler, Carl Landry, Jerami Grant, Erson Ilyasova, Luc Mbaha Moute, Nerleons Noel, Richaun Holmes, Christian Woods, Dewayne Dedmon and more... What do they have in common? They've all been thru the process. You telling me they couldn't build a good sustainable team in the last 9yrs with all of these players. I didn't even mention some others whose careers didn't get to launch because of the process (Fultz was almost another victim) or nobody currently on the team. It's sickening when you think about it and look at it. Not a coach nor GM could even withstand the destruction the process has caused. Worse it had to hurt seeing Mikal Bridges, a hometown kid they drafted and traded and Jrue Holiday in the Finals. It's getting better now (maybe) but the cost is a "Process" completely destroyed. Ben Simmons is all but gone and the team will inevitably look a little different once he leaves.
  17. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.inquirer.com/sixers/sam-hinkie-joel-embiid-tobias-harris-sixers-trust-the-process-20190207.html%3foutputType=amp You're right the process was a joke to begin with. 85 players countless top 3 picks and only one player left (Joel Embiid) to show for it. If you wanna say the Process is ongoing because of Embiid be my guest. Almost 10 yrs of being a laughing stock and not making the ECF the process killed itself. Especially when a team that only spent about 3yrs rebuilding & one tearing it down to run thru "the process" without Dre and Cam. How do I know we should be better? If we remain healthy without any individual improvements we will be better. We didn't play full force all season last year. People will copy our system. No good GM will be following the process. Process destroyed.
  18. Did we not destroy the Process? We got better. They got problems and more than likely are going to be weaker defensively once Simmons is gone. Rear view until proven otherwise...
  19. Extra practice body if anything and training camp player. Like others said he could play a role like Solo last year if necessary.
  20. Ira Newbil was one of the hardest workers I've seen with us. Ivan Johnson as well he was the 1st 9 to 5. Bembry was also decent in the hustle department but let Baze clumsiness rub off a little too much.
  21. Most of this list made me sad I actually forgot we went thru so many... If I had to choose I'll start with 3 of my favorite players/Hawks. Nique for Manning (wow) DeMarr's tragic accident (I thought for sure he would be our McGrady lite) Josh Smith not living up to his potential he could of been the Nique of his time with us. Competing with LeBron instead of Jordan. Definitely was disappointed in the playoff guarantee. Especially since we had a playoff worthy squad when we made the guarantee. It almost went without saying but once said it was definitely expected. I guess my biggest disappointment now is the doubters/non believers. Those that can't see how far we've come and where we're headed. Especially those trying to break up such a well built team that we've yet to even see at its peak verses doing something that's been done with many failed attempts.
  22. 2PG Acie Law, Speedy Claxton, Dan Dickau SG Tyler Dorsey,Donny Bryce, Emmanuel Davis SF Kent Bazemore, Roshown McCloud, Lamar Patterson PF Cal Bowler, Cadillac Anderson, Othello Hunter, Jon Koncak C Priest Lauderdale, Sheldon Williams, Keith Benson, Hanno Mottola Tyler Dorsey and Kent Bazemore would be the stars of this team. Kent would probably average like atleast 9 turnovers from clumsiness and trying to do too much. He would also still be a fan favorite compared to the rest of the squad. Speedy wouldn't get off the injured list but who knows maybe Dickau, Law and Lamar Patterson might've lived up to their potential. Maybe not though lol
  23. https://www.nbcsports.com/philadelphia/sixers/nba-rumors-ben-simmons-told-sixers-he-wants-leave-philly-report Well there may be one team that may definitely lose some power in the power rankings sooner than later. The clock is ticking and the whole nba knows it. He should've pounced on the Lillard deal when and if he had a chance. I think the trade was Ben, Thyblle Maxey and a 1st I believe for Dame. I'd be highly surprised if Morey gets anywhere near the deal he wants now.
  24. Lamar Odom could shoot and play all 5 positions. He might not have lived up all the way to his potential. That may give Ben an edge but as far as fit Lamar could fit into any role without disturbing the flow of the team.
