  1. I hope this is the beginning of some moves... starting with Woody.
  2. The team needs to get together and get this guy off our team, but as long as he stays in good with guys like Lue because he protects Woody...
  3. I know I may sound like another crazed fan who yells , "Fire the Coach" after every lost up intil this year I have been a big BK and Woody fan. How could anyone continue to support our coaching staff? You look at our last two games. Our best PG gets ejected... He names Law as the starter but Lue ends up with the most minutes. I guess everyone is HAPPY that way. J-Smoove is having the game of his life and Woody makes sure he doesn't get any looks in the 2nd half. Oh, and when I'm going back over the game I notice we did not score on 3 trips when Law touch the ball. All others we scored. Yet Woody gives Lue all the minutes and the play of the PG takes the blame for the lost. In todays game Lue is on fire in the first half... what does Woody do??? He takes Lue out, I'm guessing due to match up problems. I can understand if Lue went cold but at the time he took him out Lue had made his last three shots. I'm like WTF!!! We go to the 2nd half... Here is when your rookie PG gets his game on after hitting a big 3 Law is running our offense very well. He gets like 4 assists, 3 rebounds and 5 points. What does your coach do? The only thing he is good at, takes Law out, slowing down the offense. We were up by 4. You guys can make up all the fantasy trades but we are not going any where with this coach and the Blazers' coach showed us today.
  4. PISSED!!! I just looked at our standings. We have lost 7 out of our last 10 games. WTF is going on with this team??? We can't keep using that "Young Team" crap. Not when the Blazer are doing what they are doing. What pisses me off more is the media in this town. They don't give a crap! We have too much talent on this team for this team not to be in the top 5 in the east this year. The Owners... Dang! Can they get this kid fight over with and stop holding back this city and fans. We need to make changes and they are holding us back.
  5. Quote: Quote: I wouldn't necessarily put Horford on the bench. Sure, it would be unpopular to bring a guy off the bench making the money that Curry does, but I would do it initially. Horford is important from a defensive and rebounding standpoint to start and finish games, so I'd definitely keep him as the starter. When we're winning games at the end, Horford would be in. If we're losing at the end, and need offensive options every trip down the floor, Curry would be in. I agree. Curry would be best off the bench. Bring him in at the 5 minute mark of the 1st quarter and let him feast in the paint on back up centers allowing JJ to get the early breathers we are never able to give him. Curry would be a tool used for a specific purpose. When that funtion is not needed the tool gets put back in the box. The problem now is we are missing that tool all together. I'm glad to see you guys state this. I was trying to post earlier on my T-Mobile Dash phone but kept getting an error. (FYI. Do not get a T-Mobile Dash phone. Windows Mobile SUCKS!!!) Ok, back to the post... I would Mos Def do that trade and bring Curry off the bench. Give him the same minutes Zaza and Lo have been getting. He is an upgrade compared to those guys.
  6. Quote: I've been checking the trade boards and Horf has value everywhere.... Except with Hawks fans. Sure, we think he's good but he's not a must keep in the starting lineup nor has he earned the label (with all Hawksqauwkers) as untradable. Really, since December, his value amoung Squawkers has decreased... For at one point, he was the best prospect on the team. Now, he's just another guy. What has happened? Do you believe that Horf is playing more tentatively after what Happened with TJ Ford?? I think somebody out to sit down with Horf and explain to him that Ford is the "Mr. Glass" of basketball. Moreover, I see Horf as PF of the future. I guess that makes it hard for those of you who want to say that Smoove is a PF. But this team can't go on with Horf as C. I mean, we will win a few but we will continue to be outrebounded by bigger stronger Centers. I'm hoping that BK can make a deal and bring in Dalembert without giving up a core player!! For us, having Dalembert at C and Horf at PF would be a sweet fix. I'm sorry but you are getting a little too crazy with these trade topics. H-LL NO!!! We are not trading this kid. Out of all our draft picks this guy has come in and showed us the most in such a short time. This is a crazy thread.
  7. Quote: post game of the late game...had to stay up late to catch it...short segment...nice to see the Hawks get on national tv though no matter how it happens... I'm with you on that.
  8. Quote: Quote: I agree with you too. I wonder does JJ think of himself as the leader of this team. I have stated this before... Big Al was on 680 the fan radio about 1 week ago. They asked him something about the vet. leadership on this team and Big Al named M-William, J-Smoove and Lo. He did not say JJ that made me wonder. Maybe I'm fishing too much but it just caught me by surprise. I remember him specifically stating Lo and AJ as veterans who give vocal leadership in the locker room. I was suprised JJ was not mentioned as well. You maybe right but... He did say M-Williams too. I remember that well because I said to myself, "maybe that is why they got into that fight during practice. Maybe M-Williams were getting onto JJ about stepping up his game." If you remember JJ was in a bad shooting slump.
  9. Quote: As was stated the last few days, I think Salim is more of a "scorer" then a "pure shooter." A true shooter can catch the ball and shoot quickly with accuracy. Salim has to step into his shot or shoot off the dribble as he brings the ball up the court. That is how "scorers" shoot but not how a "pure shooter" shoots the rock. Salim cannot space the floor effectivly b/c when the ball is kicked out for him to shoot and open 3 he can't shoot accurately without taking an extra step into his shot and by then the defense has already reacted and rotated to him. Salim is not the "pure shooter" that many think he is. I hope Salim comes out with a 4/4 3 pt shooting night that makes me eat crowe but the only way he can do that is if we are down by 30 and he is thrown out their to street ball us some points. I have never notice that. I will be on the watch out for that the next time he is in the game. I thought he could shoot with out the extra step. Too bad I have deleted the other recorded games.
  10. I agree with you too.
  11. Salim??? Is he really hurt??? Salim is a very good 3pt shooter. I hate seeing us go through these shooting slumps when he is on the bench. My goodness, get him off that bench and into the game!
  12. They went to count down the 10 best plays of the night. Al was at #2 with the steal then dunk play. The #4 was the best. They showed like six different Hawks' dunk on the Nuggets. M-West, J-Smoove, J-Chill and M-Williams One of the guys, which I think was Greg Anthony, said, Did the whole team dunk on them. lol
  13. I want a PG, and a C but the truth is… We are not going to bring any big names because the way this team has played this year. They are almost like family and you can’t break that up. Chill, AJ, JJ, Smoove and Marvin have worked their hearts out to get this team to this point. If we trade away any of those guys the other guys are not going to like it. Those guys really look up to AJ. I think it will only hurt this team. They only players that could get moved at this point will be the guys who are not getting any playing time. I think BK will wait until the end of the year to make any serious moves. When is the trade dead-line any way? February what?
  14. I know on that one play where he took AI off the dribble and got to the basket but missed the lay up. It was funny because he looked back at AI with wide opened eyes. He was shocked as all get out. Looked as he was saying, “Wow, I almost schooled AI” The next trip down he did it again… and missed the jumper.
  15. Quote: Announcers said it was some fat bald guy? Yeah, I did see that guy laughing. I thought he was laughing at what they were saying. Wow, so are you telling me the Hawks Fans are starting to get some fans who like to trash talk the opp team players??? That would be great because we have some very soft fans. I love being at games where the fans come out to see the opp team play but only to get their hearts hurt when the HAWKS WHOOP UP ON THAT ASSER. I was sitting near 3 ladies (2 were Nuggets fans/ 1 was a Hawks fan) Well, when AI got tossed the Lady Hawks fan stood up clapping yelling, “That’s what I’m talking about! NOT IN OUR HOUSE!” She told the other 2 ladies, “TAKE A PICTURE OF THAT BECAUSE HE IS GONE!” Then J.R. Smith got ejected. The Lady Hawk still yelling… “THERE GOES ANOTHER ONE! GET A GOOD PICTURE BECAUSE THIS IS OUR HOUSE! YOU ARE NOT COMING IN HERE WITH THAT CRAP! ANYMORE WANT TO GO? MELO??? DO YOU WANT TO GO???” That was some funny crap!
  16. Don't worry, Marvin will be the 1st to go if it was down to him or Chill. You can replace the jump shooter. The all around game that Chill brings off the bench is very rare to find. The guy plays tough D. He can shoot any where on the court at a high percentage. Knows how to get to the basket. Top ten in the league at shooting FTs. Passes pretty good. AND HAS ONE OF THE BEST UGLY SHOTS OF THE GAME.
  17. Quote: The East has two good teams - Boston and Detroit are the only ones that can compete with the top teams in the west. Only 3 east teams would make the playoffs in the West if the season ended today. The West has 5 or 6 really strong teams. Don't count the Hawks out yet... They have a 7-4 against the West
  18. I was at the game tonight sitting at section 118 row J. Well, Chad Johnson and D Hall were sitting across from the Hawks bench in the prem sets. I saw Melo talking trash to one of those guys about 4 times right after he made a shot. To those who watched it on TV, who was Melo yaping at Chad or D Hall???
  19. Quote: David Stern earlier today and his sorry criminal refs in tonights game. The Marv travel, the Joe over and back, the Smoove steal, the all hand " block" on Marv by Stvenson. Should I go on? I hate to say it but until JJ gets voted into the All-Star (by the fans) he will not get the calls. The one thing I wish he would do more is take over games. Josh Smith and Marvin seems to have more heart then JJ. It's funny the other day on radio, 680 The Fan, they asked Al about the leadership in the locker. He named M-Williams, Lo ans Smoove. He did not say JJ's name.
  20. Quote: Hadn't seen this posted yet. We have to replay the end of that Miami game before our next game with them with 53 seconds left and us up by 3. Miami won the protest of Shaq being called out on fouls... even though he likely won't play in the next one due to being fat and out of shape. They are about to start a fire. Can we get the point that they did not give to up from the Lue 3pt. It was clearly the Ref fought, because Lue was behind the 3Pt line and they only gave us 2pts. I could help our stats
  21. Quote: Me too. I'd just hate to give up a 21 year old Marvin for him. I would trade Chills / ZaZa or Shelden for him all day long. Is JJ Redick available ? He is waisting away in Orlando. Shelden for Redick ? A Duke guy for a Duke guy ? Shelden may fit really well next to Howard. He would definately give them more beef and toughness then Turk or Lewis trying to play PF. That is the thing. You guys are the ones who thing you are playing "Playstation." Dale is a "CENTER" which are "RARE" to come by. So, we will have to give a good player to get him. Philly is not going to give a guy like that away for peanuts. Now a SWING MAN THAT SHOOTS 3s are not that hard to find. That's why a guy like JJ Redick is riding the pine. I keep reading that "it would hurt Josh Smith." Well, right now Big Al, at his age, is playing better. He is what I would say is the one guy we can depend on night after night... BUT, if we do not find a center we will Mos Def hurt his growth. The guy has shown us that he has the "POTENTIAL." Out of all our young guys Al has shown us more in his short time. If we keep putting him out of place at C it is going to hurt him. If he goes down, we go. This is why we need a Dale. That outside shooting we got in Salim, Lue or Chille. We just need to play the hot man. We really do not have a guy like Al who can play down low. And don't worry if they miss, Big Al, J-Smoove and Dale will be there to get the rebound. DANG, JUST THING WE WOULD HAVE ONE OF THE BEST FRONT COURT. Which would you rather give up Smoove or M-Williams? One will be gone.
  22. Quote: Quote: I wouldn't trade Marvin right now. He is our ONLY reliable jump shooter. Take that out of the mix and we are in trouble whenever we run a half court offense. I agree. Horford and Smith seem to be holding down the paint just fine. Consistent perimeter shooting is our weakness, not interior defense. I don't see Dalembert giving us hardly anything we are not already geting. Dalembert is a better shot blocker then Horford but it would all equal out with the blocked shots Smith would lose by having to guard SFs on the perimeter instead of alwayse being in the paint where he is 2nd in the league in BPG. Trading our only shooter to play off JJ for more of what we already got does not make sense from a chemistry stand point to me. Interior defense is not our problem right now...shooting & interior post scoring, (not just slashing), are the fixes we need and Dalembert, though very skilled defensively, provides neither. We need a big man too, but I think we need ONE inside scorer more then ANOTHER inside defender. We will probably get neither. If Lue would start hitting some jumpers or Law was given some PT to grow we may be better off then we thought in that area. Moving J-Smith to SF would not hurt his block shots. Most of those blocks come from the weak side. I understand about the outside shooting but guys we can't hold on to this line-up forever. We have a lot of young talent and we do not want to let them go. To get that C or PG we are going to have to let go some of this young talent. If we could sucker the 76ers into taking Shelden, Speedy and Salim I would be all for it but that is not going to happen. I think by the trade deadline or next year Marvin or J-Smith will be gone. I know most of you may want to see J-Chill gone but I just do not see that happening. He is our best 6th man. Just like Cs and PGs... a good 6th man is hard to come by. Dalembert is the 3rd ranked C in the East, 11th overall up to this date / this year. CBS LINE Ranked Centers
  23. Quote: I wouldn't trade Marvin right now. He is our ONLY reliable jump shooter. Take that out of the mix and we are in trouble whenever we run a half court offense. Yeah, I do understand that. This is also why I do not understand why Salim doesn't get much playing time. Is he really hurt?
  24. Quote: Quote: I would love to see the Hawks go after Samuel Dalembert. Maybe package M-Williams with Lorenzen Wright, Salim Stoudamire or Solomon Jones. Marvin Williams + anyone for Dalembert?????? That's a lopsided deal if I've ever seen one. Dally's defense and rebounds are great, but his salary offsets that a great deal. There's no way I'd give them Marvin for Dally. M-Williams with Lorenzen Wright, and Salim Stoudamire for Dale and a 1st rd would workout. The 2 hardest thing to find in this league are C and PG. Dale is good young C. Right Now he is top 6th in the East. I would take that.
  25. Trade Rumors Quote: If there is one NBA team the Knicks should be engaging in frequent discussions with, it is the Philadelphia 76ers. New president Ed Stefanski already has made one deal and he'll be itching to do more between now and the deadline as he makes his own imprint on a roster that will afford him the most cap room in the league next summer. The prime candidates to be dealt are Andre Miller, Sam Dalembert, and Rodney Carney. Miller has been on the Cavs' radar screen, and as a mediocre defender with $10 million coming to him next season, Miller should only be a consideration if the Knicks somehow can put together some semblance of a run at the eighth playoff spot by mid-February. Fat chance; they're already eight back in the loss column, so Miller isn't the answer. Dalembert is intriguing from the standpoint that Stefanski is looking to clear cap space, and his defense and shot blocking would be the ideal complement to either Zach Randolph or Eddy Curry. -- Newsday With all this trade talk, why do we not hear the Hawks’ name? (well, that Gasol trade talk has been going on for 2 years now). I would love to see the Hawks go after Samuel Dalembert. Maybe package M-Williams with Lorenzen Wright, Salim Stoudamire or Solomon Jones. Dalembert is one of the young up and coming C in the league. We could put Al at the PF and Smith at the SF. I know that maybe a problem being that Smith is not that good at jumpers. We maybe able to solve that problem later once we get a good PG. lol
