Other coaches around the league must look at Woody in utter fascination because of his stupidity. It's like watching a car crash..you just can't look away. If Woody is gonna do whatever Joe wants then Joe needs to at least be smart about it and wait til he's 100% before coming back. Unfortunately I'm sure if he is able to stand he'll put himself in the game. sigh. I really wish Joe would sit out til after the allstar break.

lol. I can't wait til Joe 'the complimentary player' gets a max contract or close to it from the Knicks or somebody else in 2010 and starts lighting it up in a real offense. Also we beat Minny and Charlotte...not exactly world beaters. Let's not get ahead of ourselves.

I think Woody is safe this season unfortunately. But what's even more depressing is if our goal is to 'make the playoffs with a winning record' which we could do with a chimp coaching this team that means when we do Woody should be safe during the offseason too...no matter what we do in the playoffs. Unless we get swept maybe. Add the ownership situation and the economy...I don't see us getting a new coach til after next season. And hell even then the team might improve enough to convince ASG that Woody deserves another contract sigh.

Either we get below .500 or lose in the first round of the playoffs as a 4 seed i think. As long as we don't totally implode and give another good showing in the first round Woody's job is safe unfortunately. imo.

I agree with everything Atlas said. Although I think our record is pretty close to what is should be..maybe 2 wins off. imo Woody will have a more negative impact on our second half record...when his lack of depth development comes back to bite us...in addition to his usual game time ineptitude.

wowowowow I am definitely a member of the Woody is a moron fan club but I never had a problem with him personally. He seemed to be a good dude who just doesn't know wtf he's doing. Now I just want the prick gone. You gotta wonder about the whole 'Woody is a players coach' thing...I wonder if a guy who isn't in the 7-8 man rotation has ever said that?

We won't know if we're talented enough until we get a coach who has a clue.

heh I think Woody's gameplan will be to slow the tempo and play at our pace...at least that's what he should do. But unfortunately we'll start running with them like we did in ATL earlier this season where we pulled away late. This time I think GS will pull it out at home.

I think we have no choice but to resign Bibby because nobody knows if Acie can step up...thanks again woody. Definitely resign Marvin. Draft a scorer to replace Flip. Sign a couple of cheap bigs to back up Josh and Al.

How can you expect Joe to put up 30 every night when Woody puts him on an island to get double and triple teamed every time down the floor.. and Josh is still a moron.

1) Get a real coach...change the offense...etc. 2) more size up front. 3) more depth on bench...maybe we'll find that depth if we get a real coach? 4) Josh not being an idiot 5) continued development of Marv.

All Smoove has to do is drive to the basket instead of settling for open jumpers. How does that have anything to do with Marvin? If you're talking about limiting Josh's touches and giving them to Marvin well that isn't gonna work. The ball swings around to the open guy which is usually Josh at the top of the key. He needs to just drive drive drive and make things happen. Nobody can cover him one on one and if they come to double he can kick it back out and find the open guy. I agree that Marvin should be getting the ball more in iso's....but that's on Woody/Bibby/Joe to recognize the matchups and attack the weak points...which is usually Marv against a smaller SF. But i guess they think iso-Joe >>>>> all so whatever..i've stopped caring.

I didn't see the game but i'd bet that Marv was playing off them because Iggy is 23% and Young is 32% from 3. Same thing teams are doing against Smoove. Lucky us they decide to start making some.

Nice post. I guess i agree with your main point to an extent...I don't think we'll ever win a championship with this team but i do think we'll make it to the Eastern finals a couple times. I think it's too early to say whether we made a mistake keeping Josh and he frustrates me more than anyone but I think in the end it'll be seen as a good move. Yes JJ is no MJ or Kobe when it comes to leadership but i'm not gonna rag on him for being calm and composed. And saying he doesn't like playing the game and wants out of ATL because he doesn't show any emotion is pretty lol. I have nothing bad to say about Marvin. He's solid defensively and much improved in a lot of areas of his game. I think most people would be happy with his progress if he weren't the #3 pick and always being compared to CP3. Al has no chance against Howard. Expecting a PF to hang in with the best center in the game is a little optimistic. All Woodson knows is defense and we continually suck it up on that end of the floor. He needs to go.
