I have faith he can make Dedmon tradable. I see his season at Portland and I think he can play better than Dedmon. I have my doubts on defense but on offense he is better.

I want to see him back, specially now that we have 2 non shooting bigs in Capela and Okongwu, I really hope we find a way to sign him, I think he cam contribute on a 15-20mpg role and play good for us.
  3. He is right but you need to have a good mix of young and vets. PG we have a star, you could live with a vet or rookie PG but definitely you need a bigger, better defender player, an upgrade over Goodwin. Wings, all 3 players under contract are young players, still not established players on the league, have shown promise but production is below average. The way to address the problem is not adding another rookie with lower upside, is adding vets that can take pressure off the kids, we have enough upside. Bigs, you have two established players in Collins and Capela, another vet in Dedmon, Rotation is only lacking backup PF. Behind these 3 players you can find some young guys with really low upside in Skal and Bruno. Definately it makes sense to get a big with high upside to compensate the team, you have a lot of upside at PG and wings, not so much on bigs. Okongwu can play backup PF, in fact that is the position he played at college, he can share the floor with Dedmon and own the paint while Dedmon is floating on the perimeter, same with Collins. You can bring him slowly and definately he was the best player available.
  4. Toppin might be better offensive player but I think we needed for years a developing defensive big. Finally we got a real good one that might flourish with Trae. Having Collins and Capela allows us to bring him slowly, I think he is going to surprise a lot of people and might be top 3 player on this class in 2-3 years. Mays I don’t know him, I would have selected Riller, Winston or Stanley but considering probably all of them will be gone, if we can get a player from him that would be a big plus.

After draft trades and selections there are 3 players that most likely will be available and fit what we would be looking for, FA, young vet, can still develop. Frank Jackson, 22, restricted, backup PG, really athletic, real good player, my prefered option at PG, has no room after the addition of George Hill and Kira Lewis, I doubt NO matches a bid. Korkmaz, 23, good shooter, good size for SG, defense might be an issue, no room after the addition of Danny Green and Curry. I doubt he resigns in Phily. Napier, 29, one of the best backup PG, small size but good enough defense. No path to minutes behind Wall, Smith andbnow Cassius Winston that I have the feeling has been drafted as replacement.
  6. He was the guy I wanted for months, for me it was Okongwu or Haliburton but Okongwu was the guy with most upside, I am really happy he is a Hawk. He can be our Adebayo and can play PF and C, excellent addition.

This Gallo and Rondo rumors.... I don't understand it.... I thiught we were signing FAs that can grow with our core, supposedly on the 25-29 range.... And now we are leaning to 30, 32 and 34 year old players? I thought players like Christian Wood, Joe Harris, Jerami Grant, Dunn would make more sense..... And less money

The 76ers are sending Al Horford, a first-round and second-round pick to the Thunder in exchange for Danny Green. source rotoworld

This Gallo rumor makes me nervous, I wonder if we are considering sending an asset to Boston for Hayward, I am starting to get really nervous.

    Rondo??

Rondo is good but I don't think he fits well our team now. There are a lot of options like Dunn, Harrison, Napier, Teague, Augustin, Rivers.... We can get one good backup for 4 million

I think this could be a big night for Hawks, I really hope we exit this draft with a well rounded team that will only be 3 FA away of a playoff team. I think this season we could be aomething like this Trae/Anthony/FA? Cam/Huerter/FA Hayward/Hunter/FA Collins/Skal/FA Capela/Okongwu/Bruno I think we will sign a backup PG, a wing and a big that will play a major role, I hope that big is Wood and the wing is KCP.

So what is the deal for GSW and Brown?

If we trade up, target should be Wiseman.

NY just traded 27 and 38 for 23 with Utah
  16. I said the same in other post, Wiggins 2.0

I prefer data over perception. Both play similar role on similar teams, scoring is on Hayward side but efficiency is on Crowder side, he has less shots but show more influence on winning. Specially on playoffs. As I said people tend to remember good times, today's Hayward is a good player but not at Utah's level
  18. gurpilo

    Ask Supes

Ummm you think so? Advanced stats say Crowder contribution was much better on Miami than Hayward on Boston. WS, VORP, percentages, defense..... There is a perception of players but tat perception is not always true, sometimes stats are worth checking and we are not signing the Hayward from Utah, this is a different player that is declining

Umm, it might be we would need to overpay to bring Hayward to Atlanta now. He is seen as someone suitable a winning program and we are not there yet. If we are not able to sign to a range of 20 per year I think is better going on a different direction. Best signings for us were good players that needed to prove they belong to next level, as Carroll and Milsap, we could include THJ as well. Jae Crowder is a guy that I think could play at Hayward level at a much reasonable contract. I would rather go on that direction with 15 per year that pay 30 for an injury prone Hayward.

Is not the end of the world if we do not sign Hayward or Harris. There are other options that should be cheaper and might fit even better our team as Jae Crowder, Jerami Grant, Christian Wood, Gallinari, Harkless, Bertans, Wilson Chandler, Derrick Jones Jr, KCP, Hood, Temple, Forbes, Korkmaz, McRae, Ibaka, Favors, Hernagomez, Clarkson, Dunn, Ferrell, Napier, Frank Jackson, Burke, Teague..... Just imagine we end with Crowder, Wood, Napier and KCP. Crowder is better fit in my mind that Hayward, KCP and Wood would be terrific additions.... Add that to a group of Trae, Huerter, Cam, Hunter, Collins, Capela, Dedmon, Skal, and 6th pick. That is a good team. There are lot of options out there

Well, I think we are underating Troy Brown's potential, I think talentwise he can be comparable to Kevin Huerter. Of course his skillset is different but he was making noise last year for certain parts of the season and he finished with prromising stats. He is a little bit younger than Huerter and made similar impact.
  22. Hopefully this is true, we stay at 6 and pick one of Okongwu or Haliburton. I would go with the upside of the freshman over the sophomore but I would understand selecting Haliburton as I think the fit is great. Long term I think Okongwu might be the best guy on the draft so I would go BPA as always.

What if megadeal is Indiana, Phili and Hawks Hawks trade Dedmon and Huerter and recieve Josh Richardson. Phili recieves Oladipo Indiana receives Dedmon and Huerter

    Ask Supes

After all the talk I cannot find a better offseason plan that going hard after some FA this year as Christian Wood (15m$ a year), Gordon Hayward (20) Derrick Jones Jr(4) Skal(2) and Austin Rivers(2) (naming one of the options) and draft Haliburton. We add about the same talent we are adding with these trades and do not lose anything. Trae/Hali/Rivers Cam/Huerter/Hayward Hayward/Hunter/Jones Jr Collins/Wood/Skal Capela/Dedmon/Bruno Plan B fo Wood, Bertans and Jerami Grant, adjust money for it Plan B for Hayward, Jae Crowder. Plan B for Rivers, Napier, Dunn, Teague.

    Ask Supes

Is it really closed? I completely agree, apart from Nesmith and Vassell, perhaps RJ Hampton I don't see a player worth adding on that range. However I can see Haliburton, Okongwu, even Toppin having a robust career, losing the opportunity to add a good player for 2 players that would be a late first round pick on other drafts, low chances of becoming a role player.
