Then is Myles Turner deal. Third team is Houston and PG coming here is Holiday. My guess.

When you see a highlight video of Edwards I agree you can see a superstar. But what makes a superstar is his decission making and the times he does things right, that converts to wins. Edwards percentages are really bad compared to other players, he is athletic but is undersized. That combination of undersized SG with bad percentages.... I am not buying it, I am not buying a superstar there. I saw something in Cam but was really a reach considering his stats, we were buying on the defensive potential, been a victim of an offense designed for Barrett and Zion and influenced by an injury. There were some arguments behind the selection. What are the arguments behind Edwards, he was the star on a team with offense designed for him and performed poorly.

Never looked at Edwards in detail before as I did not think we had a chance. Looking at the page I like most and navigating through the stats I reafirm my initial though of going after Haliburton or Okongwu. I like the strengths and weaknesses analysis and the advanced stats analysis, the comparison is clear. http://www.tankathon.com/players/anthony-edwards http://www.tankathon.com/players/tyrese-haliburton http://www.tankathon.com/players/onyeka-okongwu No need to go after Edwards AND give an asset for that.

Thanks for sharing Supes. I don't like Hayward for that price and I am not sure about the move for Edwards. Having said that I expected much more from Kevin last year and is possible he would not achieve the potential we see in him, Hayward would be a fantastic addition on the floor while healthy. Huerter was a liability on defense last year and a terrible mate for Trae so I see why we would like to move him for the right price.

Supes, would you be so kind to tell us when you expect to be able to share something with us? I would thank you a lot that information to stop entering on this thread again and again like a fool.
  6. Of course the worst part of the plan is Atlanta's lack of ability to attract FA. But we are not talking about stars, just role players that play defense, do not f*** the offense and fill our holes, there is a good amount of those on this year FAgency. About the examples you mention I would trade 6th pick, Huerter and Capela for KAT on a heartbeat. But the price for Beal or Hield is too hiigh and you end with a worst team medium term than keeping your core. We are not on winning mode yet, we are building to be on winning mode on 3 years, probably with a few trips to the playoffs until we reach that point.
  7. We have been rebuilding for 3 years, absorbing bad contracts to be able to get assets. We have reach a point where we have 7 assets and all are seen as potentially above average players. Young, Kevin, Cam, Hunter, Collins, Capela and 6th pick. In fact some of them have the potential to be top 15 at his position, Young, Cam, Collins and Capela if you ask me. So the issue here is if you do a trade you are getting less value than the potential you know these players have. There is a reason teams do not trade players on rookie contracts, return they are getting is low compared to the value. Only players we can find in some trade conversations are Huerter and #6th pick, lower value assets today, situation might change depending on the pick me make. In a situation where you have huge cap space and young assets with huge potential the way to maximize your winning chances is to fill the current roster with short contracts for role players that help the team grow, develop and win games and be on a position to keep your full core in 3-4 years once they have reached their potential. A trade of a young asset with good potential for a 30 year old good player or a 1 year rental is not the way to go. Any team you get by your trade proposals is worst now and on the future to a team that adds to this 7 players a group like Christian Wood, Dedmon, Skal, Jae Crowder, KCP, Napier and Haliburton to name a possible plan. There might be a lot more FA options with similar impact on the team. We are on a unique position, is not the time to experience anger and try to squeeze the plan and jump steps, that is how you ruin the plan. Enjoy the growth road gents, we are going through the good road

I really hope we don't trade a 6th pick for a 1 year rental. I would be really pissed off.

Can you let us know in advance what are we looking for? Wings? Bigs? PG? Is there any chance we are moving someone from our core?

    Ask Supes

So people refuse to pay big contract to Collins, a top 15 PF on the league and improving. But is ok to pay same amount of money for a wing that is not even top 30.... and is 30 year old and punished by injuries.

    Ask Supes

I don't think anyone is giving big money to Hayward, after the injuries he is not a max player.
  12. I don't like any Jrue trade. There is no reason to trade for an expiring all-star and lose the opportunity to add a piece to our core. We are going to need those pieces in 3-4 years when this young team matures. There is no point adding a 1 year rental to win next season, we are on growing stage, not winning stage. Anyway I still think we can made the playoff next year but not advance to second round with or without Jrue, does not make ay difference at all.
  13. It would be a huge step forward and a big indication for the future to make the playoffs next season. Most likely we fail, team is too young to win but if we add some vets and on a weak east anything can happen. I can see it but we would need to add at least a vet PG, wing and a big. 2 wings would be optimum. Something like Napier, Jae Crowder and Christian Wood would make it but other cheaper options like Dunn, KCP and Jerami Grant can work as well.

I think that is because teams are valuing Haliburton, Okongwu and Hayes as much as top 5 assuming Toppin and Advija make top 5. I think we are on a great position to draft a contributor at positions of need with little difference with players on top 5. I would not be surprised if Okongwu, Haliburton and Hayes end as the best players of this class on 3 years. That is why I am against moving up, I don't see any difference.

I have seen enough on Cam to think he could be our bet at SG long term, I think he fits well with Trae. The potential is great. I don't see bigger potential in Edwards at SG, I don't see a better fit with Trae, in fact I see a worst fit and I don't see enough gap with Haliburton or Okongwu to justify losing Huerter. I think is a bad move medium and long term for the Hawks.

Okongwu can be Draymond, game changer on defense, he does not have the passing or the 3pt shot yet but he has other tools and I am convinced he can improve the shooting and the passing.

I agree we should keep Trae happy. Do you think he will be happy when PG leaves after 1 season? ECF is a pipe dream, team is too young, Trae is too young to win a round on playoffs. If we are able to do so we are looking at a 5 year champion if we keep the team... is a pipe dream. Most likely scenario, we make the playoffs, get eliminated by 4-2 by Miami, Philadelphia, Boston or Milwaukee, even Toronto. Then PG leaves and you have a worst team next year, contract year for Trae. I think is a bad scenario. Trae will be happy if we add pieces that are here medium-long term to help the team grow. There will be times to trade for one year rental all stars, we are not there yet.

I am surprised we are interested in Covington, seems we are real about winning. I think we should only pull the trigger if the right deal comes. Not a fan for a move for a 1 year rental on stars like Paul George, and of course De Rozan. This is not the year we should pursue that kind of deal, we are not on become a champion mode yet, this do not help us. Not a fan of some moves taking bad contracts as Wiggins, Zeller... I think there would be good players at 6 that fills a need like Okongwu or Haliburton and free agents that for a reasonable amount could help a lot. Napier, Clarkson, Agustin, Dunn, Yogi Ferrell, Frank Jackson, Melton, Shaquille Harrison, Tyler Johnson, Korkmaz, Joe Harris, Hood, Burke, McRae, KCP, Beasley, Forbes, Derrick Jones, Grant, Porter, Bertans, Crowder, Ingram, Wilson Chandler, Hayward, Gallinari, Harkless, Craig, Caboclo, Rondae.... just to name PGs and wings. Some of them can be signed cheap and would be as productive as some other options. I am a fan of trades for vets on the 25-28 range that are signed to a reasonable and long contract and can still develop and can help on defense and shooting at PG, wing and PF position. One name that comes to my mind is Josh Richardson. I cannot remember other player named that fills that mold.
  20. Could not agree more, I don't want a 30 year old rental for one year. All in prospects for me are: Edwards, Ball, Wiseman, Okongwu, if any of those are available take him. Good prospects are Advija, Toppin, Hayes and Haliburton. Chose the pick between these 8 players if a cannot reject offer do not become available.

No way they trade SGA, they see him as we see Young or Collins. He is core piece for OKC
  22. Turner was brought to get rid of Bazemore, Jones for Spellman, Parker and Carter were vets on a transition... They wer not supposed to ve difference makers, just fillers. I agree the siginings worked worst than expected but they were just fillers. Now we are going to fill the team to start winning. We washed all those players for Dedmon, Capela, Teague and Skal that are real contributors. We will see how the offseason works, we nees to add a backup PG or 2, 2 wings and a big and those players are supposed to be contributors, we made clear we want to big now. Let's see how we do this offseason.
  23. I don't think we should jugde Travis trades till now. We were trading for expiring vets to get picks. He was not looking for useful players, we were not on winning mode. That changed last year, Capela was a great trade. Due to all these trades we have now a good young core and a 6th pick that needs to be filled with vets to be on a position to win. This is the season when we need to start judging trades and FA. Travis needs to add 3-4 players to round the team, let's see how he does it.

I posted it earlier, I think he would be a perfect fit here, 3& D player and can play backup PG, best fit for us. He is a fantastic player and his age fits the team, by the time our core is developed he would still be able to contribute. I think he can be had for cheap as Phily needs cap space for Chris Paul.

I think PG was a fantastic player but at his 30 and after some scary injuries he is going down and I think he will go down quickly. I don’t think he is the player you want to grow with our young core. I would think on a younger and cheaper player, I am beginning to think Josh Richardson is the best fit if we want to make a deal.
