  1. We all need to recognize that is possible that Cam becomes a bust, that is true. However you just cannot ensure that a 20 year old player that is showing some promising signs is going to bust for sure, that is unreasonable.

In Cam you can see a lot of promise, play making ability, good defense, can go to the rim.... needs to play under control, limit his turnovers, shoot better.... a lot of flaws and some good signs, no one can predict how good or bad he is going to be but the potential is there, one of those players we will need to wait to see if we got something or not. Is just that we are not used to draft this kind of players. Isaac, Exum, Ingram, Chriss, Bender.... are players that remind me his potential, some histories have good end other don’t.... most teams have at some point these kind of prospects, is just that we are not used to it.

  2. With BKN pick Halliburton, Kilian Hayes, Maledon, RJ Hampton... one or 2 of those will be available. PG tend to slip in the lottery, teams tend to invest in size and shooting and this class is very loaded at PG, is almost a fact that some very good PG will slip. We could also go big with Stewart or Carney Jr or Okongwu. Wings are really weak but is almost a guarantee 5-7 of them will go in the lottery, Edwards, Advija, McDaniels, Achiuwa, Ramsey will go there, 2 additional players might go on the lottery, Josh Greene, Maxey,  Nesmith, Okoro.... have some chances. This has been that way historically, teams bet on shooters and Centers on last years.

that means that 4-6 bigs and 4-6 PGs will be chosen before our pick.

Wiseman, Toppin, Okongwu, Carney Jr and Stewart are my bets. Outrun, Dante and Zeke might push one out of the group, that is why I think Stewart or Carney Jr might be available. Ball, Mannion, Cole Anthony will go there, Halliburton, Kilian Hayes, Maledon and Hampton come after, one or 2 of those will be available. BKN pick might be very valuable, we might find a real contributor there.

If Blake is shut down, they'll definitely get serious about moving on from Drummond.

If I'm the Hawks, I'd simply toss them Chandler + a future 1st ( Brooklyn ), and see if they bite.

For the Hawks, it's an easy move to toss out.

Pistons are going to unleash Wood and Doumbouya and they may realize that the results are not much different. If we can get Drummond for Parker or Bembry, Parsons and a bunch of 2nd rd picks I would definitely do it. I do not want to give BKN pick, we can always sign Drummond this summer, I think we should be in a great position anyway.

  4. Next year we will have 8 players under contract

Young, Huerter, Reddish, Hunter, Collins, Fernando and 2 first round picks. I would say that we will sign also Goodwin, that is 9 players with high chances that Bruno is not active normally.

that means you have to sign 4-5 players with a salary cap of 70 millions. I have no problem at all spending 25 m$ on Drummond, in fact with 70 million we should spend a good amount of money on quality Free agents. Give me a star for 25 million $ instead of a role player for 15m$. We need a starting center, and a quality big and a quality wing. I am assuming we will draft a backup PG, with Goodwin should be enough

  5. Well after all the talk and after Andre’s words I have clear that this trade is not going to happen.... in fact I doubt Hawks make a move till February and I doubt we add a good player before July. Anyway I still think Drummond is the best center we can add and I really hope we can add him in free agency.

hopefully in 7 months with 2 new rookies and 5-6 good free agents this team can finally make the playoffs.

  6. Drummond is a top 10 Center on the league, way better than Adams that is a similar player, same flaws, worst on the strong points. I don't understand the hate. Drummond would solve most of our problems at C, no doubt about it. He fits Trae and he fits Atlanta as a globe, we have the shooting and the PG that he lacks in Det, we would be inmediately a playoff team with him. What I don't understand is why we would give a first for him if he can walk after 3 months, make no sense if we cannot link him. Makes more sense to wait and sign him as a FA next year, I think he should be our top 1 target on Free Agency.

Detroit is absolutely garbage without him.

  7. We clearly need a starting Center a backup PG and a productive wing. I am not against adding players using our expirings but I really doubt is happenning. I think it will probably happen by draft and FA.

My bet is that we will try to compete next year.

1- I think Goodwin becomes a reliable enough backup PG and we round the backup PG position on draft day with someone like Hayes, Maledon or Hampton.

2- If we do not draft Edwards I think we are adding a shooter like Harris, Korkmaz, Bogdanovic or Crowder.

3-. I think we are adding a big with our pick, if we cannot land Wiseman we will select Carney Jr or Stewart.

4- Finnally I bet that we go for a reliable big in Noel, Baynes, Ibaka.... adding another big not so reliable.

Next year we will be competing and with room for improvement as we would have a lot of cap space.

    My dream would be

    Young/Goodwin/Hampton

    Harris/Huerter/Hampton

    Hunter/Reddish/Crowder

    Collins/Wood/Crowder

    Noel/Wiseman/Fernando

Can John and Trae really play 35 mpg? Their defense isn't worth a shit. Hunter literally looked like the only player who could handle the minutes till recently.

I agree with their defense, however Collins defense is much much better. Anyway they have demonstrated they can play 35 mpg. We should pair them with Crabbe, Bembry and Len on the floor. Give Hunter minutes with 4 of these players, same for Cam, same for Huerter. Give the young felllas something they can handle. What is not really working is to have Huerter, Reddish, Hunter and Bruno at the same time on the floor. Protect the young guys.

  9. Rookies have not been able to carry the load they were given. We have to give them the load they can handle. Collins and Trae can play 35 mins, Hunter, Huerter, Cam and Bruno cannot handle the load now, 15-20 is more suitable to the game they provide now, bring them slowly and put in the field some veterans that can share the load. Time to give more minutes to Crabbe, Bembry, Parker and Len and find some help to replace Parsons, Damian Jones and Turner. Is good to give minutes to young players while you are losing but looking so awful is not making them any good for their development. Crabbe and Bembry can play 25-30 mpg, Len as well. they need to take the responsibility and make things easier for the young fellas.

Full disclosure I'm not up to speed on anybody besides Edwards and Wiseman as they're the 2 most heralded heading into this draft.  But these guys you mention would have to be close to sure things for me to feel good about bringing in more projects at this point.  We need a plug and play guy that is a consensus immediate heavy contributer like the 2 aforementioned guys almost certainly will be or use the pick to get an established star player.

I think these guys are also plug and play although probably their ceiling is not so high

  11. There is nothing we can do to improve the team this year.

The veterans that can provide some help this year are Len, Crabbe, Parker and Bembry.  Rest should not be playing at all. These four should be playing around 20-25 to get some weight out of rookies shoulders.

We desperately need to add a Center and a backup PG, Center is going to be tough but backup PG are a dozen out there. Look at Gary Payton at Washington, there are other players worth adding out there.

Rookies and Huerter are not working out there, they need to step back a little and learn to play behind Young, Collins, Len, Crabbe and Bembry even though Crabbe and Bembry might not be NBA starters but they will be more solid.

If by any chance a trade for a serviceable player becomes available for the expiring deals of Turner, Parsons, Crabbe or Parker just do it. People are talking about Adams but Dieng would be a much better fit and as the perception of the contract is really bad we might even get a young player in return as Keita Bates Diop or Napier

If we get a top 2 pick, I'm all for keeping it for the two main guys...assuming of course someone else doesn't come from out of nowhere to make a legit claim for the 1st or 2nd pick.  3rd or higher we use it in a trade for an established player.  I still believe in Hunter but I don't want another pick like him with a top 5 pick.  I'd like to think we're a little more poised towards building a contender than staying put for another non-sure thing lottery pick.

I think if we fall out of the top 2, Carey Jr or Stewart might be good additions for this team. We need big boys that can play.

  13. Turner for Dedmon and Ferrell would be a dream trade for us. However is that what we want? Do we want to fall off the top5 picks? Taking into account where we are perhaps it would be better if we leave this season go and focus on next season. Edwards or Wiseman would be terrific additions. Then we add 5-6 veterans on FA and we are done to compete next year.

  14. Adams is good fit but I think Noel offers the same for less money. If you want to spend big money on a center sign Drummond.

my preferred options for center would be: Drummond, Noel and Baynes

for PF I would go with Bertans, Ibaka and Wood.

if we add 3 of those players we are set at the front court, for me Drummond, Ibaka and Bertans would be perfect. And Noel Wood and Bertans a combination that I think would work very well for much less money
