  1. I really hope we have hit a homerun with Hunter because I really like Hayes and Clarke
  2. I am beginning to be nervous about Cam's injury, very nervous, why is taking so much time?
  3. I think he could be a 13ppg, 5rpg, 4 apg, 1 spg guy with slightly better percentages which is great for a 20th year old sophomore
  4. That is exactly my point, long term there is no doubt we made a huge progress but this season players are going to be really young. If this team is able to make playoffs with a core of 2 sophomores, 2 rookies, a 22 year PF and a bunch of 25-27th year old role players... Atl would be on conference finals for a decade, I doubt we are so good. It expect Huerter, Hunter and Reddish to struggle a bit till January, Huerter will pick where he left last year but will not meet improvement expectations since first month. It would be absolutely stunning they produce since fist game, hopefully they can but I would not be disapointed if they are not, is the standard for young players. I think we are sometimes mixing the medium-long term expectations with the reality next month. I am very optimistic for this team in 2 years, if we keep the team together we could be one of the top teams on the east but we are not there yet.
  5. I don't understand the comparison made on the thread I think comparison should be for players playing same position. In my opinion Lin > Turner Baze < Crabbe Prince = Hunter, hopefully Justin Anderson < Reddish Spellman < Parker Dedmon >> Jones Plumlee < Fernando On players with significant minutes, Lin, Baze, Prince and Dedmon I think we lose a bit with Turner, Crabbe, Hunter and Jones although I think some of Dedmon's minutes will go to Parker and Collins at C. The clear win on the team is contributions from Reddish and Parker, would it be enough to overcome what we lose on Dedmon, Prince and Lin? Difficult to tell.
  6. ???, I don't know what to think about that answer
  7. Milwaukee, Philadelphia, Boston, Brooklin, Toronto, Indiana, Miami, Detroit and Orlando are better in my opinion. Miami might be in discussion but they added Butler, Herro and Leonard and lost Richardson and Witheside, they have 3 young up and cong players that will improve in Adebayo, Derrick Jomes Jr and Winslow, they could improve their 39 wins.
  8. I expect an improvement but I don't think we should realistically expect to make the playoffs as we are a new and very young team. I expect improvement from Trae, John and Huerter, solid (same as last year) contributions from Len and Bembry and early and even season struggles from Reddish and Hunter, they are really young and although they could show some highlights is difficult they can produce consistently. I am expecting offensive struggle from Hunter and overall struggle from Cam. Wild cards will be Crabbe, Parker and Jones if they exceesd last year production perhaps we could make it but I think we still have many weaknesses to make the playoffs.
  9. I think that lineup would be weak , we would lack size at PF and C, I think is better keeping Collins at PF to have chances to win a ring. That lineup would be similar to that Suns with Nash and Stoudemire at C, they did not win anything despite having Marion. Size and defense matters specially in playoffs
  10. I find strange we keep signing PF while our clear need is at C and PG. Once we signed Spalding I thought we were heading for a C, not another PF.
  11. According to Sam Charania https://mobile.twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1157353993619853312?s=20 Warriors free agent Marcus Derrickson has agreed to a deal (Exhibit 10) with the Atlanta Hawks, league sources tell Small PF, good shooter, good wingspan, played for the Warriors and made a good preseason
  12. I agree with Clarke's long term position as SF. I also see Clarke as a generational talent defensively, I think the Marion comparison can be true at the end. But he is not our guy, our guy is Hunter, I would have preferes him to play as Clarke on summer league, I hope with a true PG and a better team he will do better. My only concern with Hunter is the offense, I think he could struggle to produce at NBA level, playing with Trae is only going to help. On defense he will need to play with high energy to be able to score on Rb Stl and Block categories, anyway his best quality will be one on one defense.
  13. I agree, I wanted Clarke... And I was right, few rookies are named summer league MVP, he is going to be a stud. Anyway I am not taking the view of the article, I like what we did, I don't think it was a nightmare but is also true that xobsidering value we gave too much for Hunter whose ceiling might be Trevor Ariza, which is fine, we needed that but not at the cost we pay, Hayes, Clarke, Gafford, 2 2nds and eating Hill's contract.... Only eating Hill's contract should be worth a first, that's my point. Having said that I really like Hunter, I hope he becomes something more than Ariza and hope that he does not get pressed by the cost of the trade. Do I like him more than Clarke? Yes. Do I like him more than Hayes, Clarke, Bruno.....? No. I think he fits well but so did other players.
  14. 6 rookies are not too much if 2-3 of them do not play at all and are on G-league. Value on this year 2nd round was much much higher than any year
  15. I don't see how a FA would see aa a good thing to pay Parsons instead of investing in youth. We could always have trade fof a bad contract and get a first.
  16. At the end is Do you prefer Hayes over Jones? Do you prefer Bol over Spalding? Do you prefer Bradziekis over Parsons? My answer for all these questions ia YES. This was an incredibly deep draft and we selled cheap some picks, it was clear there was going to be some bargains at 35-41--44 picks. And for next season is this a bad team you would consider as FA? Young Huerter Reddish/Clarke/Bradzeikis Collins/Clarke/Bol Hayes/Fernando
  17. 3 rookies are a nightmare if you are trying to win, are not a nightmare if you are rebuilding as we are. I don't think we had a nightmare draft, I understand why we traded for Hunter but at the same time I see that we clearly overpay for him. As I said we could have commited to develop Hayes, Reddish and Clarke and let Bruno, Bradzeikis and Bol to earn their minutes. Instead of that we have comitted to develop Hunter and Reddish, Hayes minutes would go to Damian Jones, Bruno still has to earn his minutes and the minutes that Bradzeikis and Bol were going to earn will go to Parsons, Parker or Bembry... I prefer the other alternative, I also think Clarke could eventually play SF. At the end I like Hunter but probably a trade of 8 & 17 and Hill's contract would have been more fair. I wanted my guy Clarke.
  18. Is easy to understand that most probably Hunter in the future will not be worth Hayes, Clarke or NAW or Little and Gafford or Bradzeikis plus losing another 2nds. If we have stayed pat no trades, we could have drafted Hayes, Reddish, Clarke, Bruno, Bradzeikis, Bol. Young/ Turner/? Huerter/Crabbe/Bembry Reddish/Clarke/Bradzeikis Collins/Parker/Clarke/Bol Len/Hayes/Bruno I don't see the problem drafting six rookies. We commit to development on Reddish, Clarke and Hayes and Bruno, Bradzeikis and Bol need to earn it, that would happen with Bruno anyway.
  19. Agreed, let's think this way, is it better our draft that a potential draft of Hayes, Reddish, Clarke, Gafford, Bruno, Bradzeikis and Bol and keeping Clev pick? I don't think so and I like Hunter a lot.
  20. Great article, Huerter definately need to add strength and weight, same as Collins and Young but his offensive tools are great for a 19th year old. I think Hunter, Reddish and Crabbe's addition will make tougher to find minutes and he needs to elevate his game. I am expecting a great season from him.
  21. I think Kyrie is better player when healthy, they are going to miss Horford.
  22. Yeah, you might be right, I think Robinson fits any team, we are going to regret passing on him, everyone is going to regret but it was a clear choice for us as we needed a Center badly and we passed twice on him, I could not believe it. Barrett needs the ball and Smith can play off the ball too so is not a terrible fit although Smith needs to improve his efficiency. Morris provides the shooting they need. The biggest questionmark is probably Randle as he plays point Forward, they need to figure out how to share the ball between Randle, Smith and Barrett but if they figure out they could be really dangerous.
  23. Ok, ok, I know it was not going to be a very popular statement but I just like the players they have, I agree floor spacing is an issue but they are not so bad and they are going to win lore than 25 games, I am sure.... His starting lineup is going to be Dennis Smith, Barrett, Morris, Randle and Robinson, their bench is Payton, Bullock, Dotson , Bradziekis, Gibson and Portis, pretty strong bench. Robinson and Barrett are going to be all-stars, they are a pretty good young core... Robinson is going to be a defensive star center, Barrett is going to be a star scorer, Randle is a pretty good PF, can rebound a lot, good passing, can shoot the 3, 1 3pt last year, Morris provides the shooting, 2 3pts made last season and can play SF. At PG I understand Dennis Smith and Payton have failed expectations but I think Smith is a much better player that he has shown. On the bench Bullock, Dotson and Bradzeikis are good shooters, Payton is more than solid PG and Portis is a big that could start in some teams. They are talented, have a big that is going to play for MIP, have an up and coming scorer and very solid and young players, I think they have a good and underated team. Just the trio of Barrett, Randle and Rpbinson I think is very good, recognizing the fir is not very good there is no way they win only 25 games. Watch out with Bradzeikis.
  24. Actually I think this prediction might be good, 35-36 wins is what I think might happen. I am surprised how everyone is sleeping on the Knicks, I think they are going to be better than evey prediction.
