The Hawks goals this season was to take the next step and get this developing team to the playoffs this season. After a promising start, the Hawks began to trend in the wrong direction under LP. In steps McMillan, one of the most experienced coaches in the NBA. Now the Hawks are on the path to making he playoffs for the first time in 4 years. Nate will help them do that. However, there is another part to this story, McMillan despite all of his regular season winning has yet to make it out of the first round of the playoffs. The Hawks players need to return the favor to McMillan and push this team past the first round. If that happens, McMillan will be well on his way to a resurgence in his career.

I know Cam, Dre, Dunn and Collins are thinking “I can’t F this up when I get back into the rotation.” They are going to have to play hard and smart to keep this thing going.

I rarely venture over to reddit, so I've never seen this before, but it's hilarious.
Love it.

What Phillips said in his tweet is right. Trae succeeding has made a lotta eggsperts look bad. Their remedy is to move the goalposts on him whenever he does well.
The idea of putting guys like D. Fox ahead of him is laughable. I mean, good on Fox's teams for not completely sucking for like a month out of his 4 or w/e years in the league, but his parking spot at the lotto building is reserved annually for a reason.
It will make it all he more delicious when he is holding a trophy thanking all those who doubted him.

Agreed, but it wasn't due to injury as you suggested. It was because Lou had it going.
I yield, I yield. Lol.

Definitely, the funny thing is the more they hate on him the better he gets. Everyone is running out of excuses to consider him great.

at 5:45 mark interview, mentions Trae being benched for Lue Williams
Man you guys are relentless trying to prove a point. Lol. A dip on minutes because Lou had it going is just good coaching. Nate knows it begins and ends with Trae.

Why do you and other understand that simple point but some don't?
I think people do, they just want to see you admit fault somewhere, any where. Lol. People forget non of us really know hat the hell we are talking about but all have very good theories that we like to see play out.

Man I thought we were done arguing with each other after wins. Lol. Nate is a good defensive coach and would be even better with more good defensive players.

Wha t is Cam’s latest status? Is he working out again?

Who's word should I take, yours or Coach Mcmillan? Coach Nate said himself he left Lou in because he had it going, and commended Trae for cheering him on and not being upset. Listen to the post game presser.
You are not wrong. However he made the decision immediately after he got hurt. He didn’t wait, when he noticed Trae was hurt. That quick decision is what is making the difference with Nate.

Not happening. Too much distance.
Yeah 6 games is a lot to overcome. We would have to go on another 8 game win streak while a top 4 would have to lose 6 out of 8.

He didn't just bench him because he was playing bad, he benched him because he got hurt we he was slammed to the ground and was grabbing his right arm. That was excellent that Nate recognized that and knew he could rely on Lou while Trae nursed his arm. Excellent coaching.

Why is Snell not starting again??
I think McMillan is purposely trying to get Kevin back in a groove. I see no other reason not to start Snell while you have Bogi playing well. It is working too.

OO17 looked fluid the last two games. It is almost like Nate told him he was going to get a certain amount of more minutes going down the final stretch of the season. Just looks more confident. His free throw stroke looks better too.

I am glad we are at least considering this. After a win I come here looking for a lot of jubilation and a break down of things that went right but often get people arguing or pointing out things that we didn’t do well in a win. After a loss I come in here looking for a breakdown of what went wrong but appreciation for the things we did right and can build on but often get vitriol about our best players having an off night. Weird. We have all been Atlanta fans long enough to know disappointment well but understand that it is the measuring point not 17 championship banners in the rafters. We are an underdog franchise looking climb out of mediocrity into something special. I want be here for it and enjoy the ride.
