  1. Sure you get rid of a prick but he was a prick with no power. The rest of the clowns still run the show.
  2. Well if you want to cherry pick that and live out the racist stuff than sure but the bobble head/ego stuff was being used to reinforce the racial slurs. So the "culture" they are looking for sounds racist.
  3. How are we supposed to get these morons out of power if Silver doesn't help us. Gearon is an idiot but he has no real power. Levenson and Ferry are idiots for getting caught and have done a great job of damaging an already lackluster reputation the team had. We should be praying that Silver wants to clean house.
  4. But that's the problem. Just because Silver makes that call doesn't mean a lot of opinions have been formed and everyone will have a different interpretation of the incident. Ferry looks like damaged goods right now and I don't think any phone call will repair the situation.
  5. This wasn't a joke. This was the questioning of the character of a free agent target. Surely you can see how this will make Ferry's job problematic with free agents, their agents AND dealing with other teams around the league.
  6. If I knew how to embed a video on here I'd post the scene from Robin Hood where the sheriff calls off Christmas... EDIT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUDntpV_HdQ
  7. It was a witch hunt but Ferry dug his own grave and has to reap the consequences. So just because we can't lure free agents means it's perfectly fine to keep someone who's lack of ability to land free agents just got even worse. Yeah that makes perfect sense.
  8. So just like fans that wanted more context to the Ray Rice video sometimes the context makes it worse.
  9. So I'm catching up on the Wojo article. Do I understand correctly that Ferry was reading from the report but he was also interjecting his own racial comments as well?
  10. Keeping quiet is what is going to cost him his job. He'll be fired as long as the narrative is that he's some kind of racist. That's the truth. If he and the Hawks think this is just going to blow over then clearly they don't pay too much attention to their own sport or the news cycle. And he was already found guilty and punished. So he was caught, found guilty, punished, publicly admitted to the wrong doing and apologized for it and you're telling me he did all of that to just save him job. So he's completely fine with his character going in the tank as long as he can just keep his job. Again that sure does sound like someone I want leading an organization. That literally makes it sound worse because then the narrative is "Hawks GM has no integrity"... Truth is Ferry can't say anything because he's already gone through the steps of a guilty man. He put himself in a corner that there's no getting out of without making himself look even more incompetent.
  11. His reputation is being killed because he didn't defend himself and the evidence is damning. He just took it. Usually when someone doesn't defend themselves or have someone do it in a statement for them it's pretty damning as well. And there is no looking at it in a bubble. You can form a pretty concrete opinion based on the facts we know based on the person in question admitting to wrong doing while apologizing, all while never defending himself. So what are people supposed to think? That some huge revelation will come out exonerating Ferry of all wrong doing? If there was a possibility for that then why would he apologize and take a punishment? That doesn't make sense at all. No one has even hinted that this was taken out of context(not even Ferry) so really there's no reason to hope that it was.
  12. Ferry admitted to wrong doing and apologized. That's enough for most people. Clearly there wasn't some alternative context or he would tried to shift the narrative in his statement. He didn't so what else is there to extrapolate other than some blind hope that maybe our GM isn't that big of a idiot and was trying to nobly draw attention towards a bigot...
  13. Which goes along with him being incompetent enough to read it aloud.
  14. Yeah we've seen what kind of "culture" this team approves of...
  15. Well I don't see any of that happening.
  16. Am I the only one that thought the "African" comment wasn't about his nationality but like a cleaner version of a derogatory term that we're all familiar with? It just sounded like the scout couldn't say that so that was his asinine attempt to clean it up.
  17. Well the organization looks like it's run by bigots now...
  18. Bingo. I seriously doubt Ferry is a racist but this isn't going to just blow over in the minds of potential free agents. Do you think guys who are friends with Deng want to even take a call from Ferry?
  19. Despite changes in management and coaches the team has been in the same position for a very very long time. I've had plenty of patience and got my hopes up two seasons in a row waiting for the cap space to be actually used on real talents. Are you saying I have to wait at least one more season for that to possibly happen? I'm not sure how this roster is going to shock anyone next season when Millsap will be gone, Korver will be a little older and Al with have a year left for us to decide whether or not we trade him for something instead of just letting him walk for a team that actually wants to win. If our patience is running out then Al's has to be running on an all time low. I don't even not what the course is. Just being competitive enough to look like we're trying? Because that's what the perception is.
  20. But you could argue it's more of an illusion of hope. The young talent doesn't appear to be anything special(more role players), most of the vets with value are on short term deals and will likely leave for their payday, coach is fine but doesn't have good talent at the moment, cap flexibility doesn't mean anything when it's not put to use, our future picks have very little value since they will be in the middle of the first round...Until something actually gets done "hope" is a hard thing to keep selling.
