It’s so obvious how bad the refs have been tonight and you still have people complaining online about Trae getting so many FT’s in the first half. Literally every single one of those were legit fouls, with so many others not called. The Magic are taking a page out of the Heat’s playbook where you just foul on every possession so that the refs get tired of stopping the game and start letting the ticky tack ones go.
-
The Magic are the most aggressive perimeter defense in the league and Trae is taking advantage of it right now.
-
It’s the curse of the dislocated finger. First JC, now Dre. He hasn’t been the same shooting since the injury.
-
Fultz has to be the first dude to cut out his braids, rock the clean cut hair and still end up looking even more hood than he did before lol
-
I’m a Trae supporter but even I am nervous that he is going to start feeling himself and start chucking after seeing his three fall.
-
We got to hold on to the ball, they are swiping away at everything and refs are letting it go. We have to play stronger, turnovers are the only thing keeping them in the game.
-
The Magic’s only hope is to get turnovers and score in transition. We have to slow down and protect the ball against these guys. They struggle mightily in the half court. Tonight is a night where Nate-ball would work best.
-
We might have 10 turnovers before the end of the first quarter. Happens every time we plan on taking the ball out of Trae’s hands. Magic are not the team for our wings to be handling the ball against.

Nate wanted to limit possessions with ball control. Slowing our opponents down. We were still a really good offense under this style, as we obviously shot better. Quinn likes us to play with pace and get transition buckets. Forcing the defense to run more and have to take the ball out of the basket. We have not shot well as a team and are still toward ms the top in overall offense which should scare people once our 3’s finally start to fall. -

No, seriously, like why? It’s only 2 rounds, and most people stop caring after the lottery picks as is. -

Easy answer, Jalen plays a different position. Jalen’s spot in the rotation was almost solidified the moment we traded Gallo. We had a hole at back up PF last year and no ideal answers to fill it. Compare Jalen’s rookie season with AJ’s and you see JJ got much worse treatment as he was in a similar situation as the 5th big that year. Roster construction matters, and this has always been a team loaded with wings. You can’t say that AJ should be playing over DJ, Bogi, Dre or Bey at the 2/3 position. We may lose Bey or Bogi at some point, which should be a natural promotion for AJ in to the 8 man.- 411 replies

Teams have routinely done this against us for years especially come playoff time. Quinn specifically shouted out Bey for his commitment to keeping rebounds alive for he and his teammates.

AJ got to play a lot early last year because Bogi was out the first 23 games and we had no shooting in the lineup. His minutes started to drop once a healthy Bogi returned, but he still was in the rotation. Once we traded for Bey, AJ was pushed to the fringe of the rotation and you saw his minutes go to around 10 or so per game. AJ was a young rookie. He got a lot of minutes but you saw him hit the wall over time. Once that shot stopped falling, he was no longer as needed or as playable on a team trying to get in the playoffs down the stretch. As talented as he is I always felt he was being overhyped by us on here. He did not look like a rising star in summer league. He has a lot to learn still. He will find his way back on the court eventually, but he is getting the opportunity to watch and learn that he did not get last season.- 411 replies

Trae rocking Wes Matthews jersey? JJ wearing Bruno’s ? Did they lose a bet or are they just trolling each other?

Agreed. He knows he is mic’d up too. I don’t ever remember seeing him like this before. Pay attention to their response/reactions to him. -

Yal know we can all be happy for JC without it implying any kind of regret on our end or shade towards his replacement, right? I think we all long accepted the writing on the wall with JC, and even his biggest supporters aren’t sitting here today banging on the table for justice. The trade sucked because of the return we got, but not because we are upset about losing him or have an agenda against JJ, imo. I hope he does really well in Utah, it won’t affect me at all if he balls out. JJ’s performance is completely independent of my attitude toward JC.
