  1. I don’t hate them. I don’t love them. But, I don’t hate them. I like these more than the yellows and the 50th anniversary ones, about the same as the volt/blacks, but worse than all the others. We really should have run back the MLK’s until the wheels fell off.
  2. He should want that, it’s not like Hunter is making anything crazy. Even if he is an underachiever, there are worse players making $30 mil per year. $22.5 is pedestrian for a good, young starter. I wouldn’t trade Bey just because he wants his max value. Once he hits RFA, the market will likely give him the same thing we were offering. There are not a lot of teams with spare cash to overpay for a player like Bey. We probably do need to choose between Hunter and Bey long term, and that is probably the best reason to trade either. Especially with the team being as high on JJ as we are. His long term deal is probably highest on the priority list for the front office.
  3. I hate this for my anxiety but I do understand that it may be best to let him test the market and just match if he wants to bet on himself. DJ and OO both took less than their value to re-sign with us. It is very likely that whatever deal Bey was offered was also an underpay. Contract year players tend to ball out, this would be great for us if he did.
  4. My initial reaction was that these are Delta inspired due to the quote “lift as we fly” but I cannot find that connection anywhere to delta. So maybe its a nod to Hartsfield Jackson airport? The atl abbreviation makes sense in that case. There is something behind the the quote and colors for sure.
  5. JC is definitely an energy big who can offer some inside scoring, some outside shooting, some defense and rim protection, and some leadership. None of which he does at an elite level, but overall just a solid vet big man at this point in his career. His shooting was an asset before it fell off a cliff. His inability to exploit mismatches is ultimately what did him in. It’s fine to be undersized if you can space the floor and pull your defender out of the paint. it’s fine to be a post limited big if you can take advantage of small 4’s and force a double team. JC was not able to do either.
  6. Bro, who literally even cares? It’s only an issue or topic of conversation on this message board. Nobody ever brings this up in the real world. It’s okay!
  7. Can’t watch the game but based on the box score it looks like our 9-man rotation has been revealed (no surprises). If this is a dress rehearsal for the season, Bey gets the nod over JJ as our starter. Probably see plenty of Bufkin, Mills, Matthews, Gueye, and Fernando in the 2nd half, but right now our main rotation looks a lot like last season minus JC.
  8. Not disagreeing with any of this, but respectfully, I thought all of this is what Dejounte was brought here for.
  9. Bey is a better defender at the 4 then at the 3, that’s for sure.
  10. Nothing against OG, I am sure he is a great person, but, I am fatigued by the constant hype to try and acquire him over the years. That, and I do not want to take another phone call from the Raptors or Masai anymore. Him and Danny Ainge can go screw off somewhere as far as I am concerned.
  11. I still think we need a high end front court player to truly elevate our roster to contender status. Not saying we have to move CC but I do think that his contract and value is the most sensible to build a trade around for a bigger name. Im not re-hashing the Siakim noise, but an All Star level forward or big is the most ideal addition to this roster. CC+ a youngster with upside ( AJ/JJ/Bufkin, etc..) and filler or I’d even do CC+Dre and filler for the right piece coming back. My motivation is less about freeing up minutes for OO and more about consolidating to add high end talent.
  12. I’m liking the options at PF, I think Bey gets the nod due to the need for more spacing next to our starters. JJ and OO have a really great chemistry with one another as well.
  13. Until he fully transitions to PF he is in fact a Center. And if you really pay attention to how he plays, he is a lot further away from being a PF than just adding 3 point range. The league is small. PF’s aren’t just small centers anymore, they are big SFs. He would be more out of place as PF than he would as a center.
  14. We have one of the better center situations in the league. Unless we are bringing in one of the elite big men, a platoon approach is still our safest bet. There is no Center in the NBA that one of CC or OO can’t matchup with. But there are plenty that give either problems. There is a reason teams want to trade for them, let’s not create a hole on our roster for the sake of freeing up minutes. Not to mention if an injury happens and now we are forced to play Bruno starters minutes. My hope is that Quinn is open to changing the starting lineup based on matchups. Let OO and CC eat vs the guys they do well against. Team first approach, some nights it’s my night some nights it’s yours.
  15. He must be reading the boards lol Interesting that is almost our entire bench unit minus Hunter. Bufkin has exclusively been at SG the first 3 games, it will be interesting to see if he has improved as a lead guard since Summer League ended.
  16. Dre is the prototypical forward to fit an Aaron Gordon/Michael Porter Jr role for us in Quinn’s team centric style. I hope he can get healthy and buy in.
  17. They said he had a bone bruise that wasn’t super serious. Possibly suggesting that he would play if it were a regular season game. As much as I like Quinn and as good as we look so far in preseason, I can’t imagine that we can improve that much as a team to make up for losing JC and an injured (or disgruntled/dog-housed) Dre in one offseason. I hope we get him back on the court soon. We are light on size in our frontcourt as is.
  18. Point being There is no more incidental contact from my understanding of the rule, either the defender took away a safe landing space, or the shooter initiated contact by an unnatural shooting motion or leg kick, which now results in an offensive foul.
  19. Which means the tech should have been called on the shooter in that situation by the letter of the rules now? Had his shot gone in, we would have been screwed by that non call.
  20. Nique was a showstopper and a walking highlight and even his greatness was disrespected during his playing career. I don’t want to spend the next 10+ years miserable because “experts” keep getting it wrong. All we can do as fans is continue to show up for Trae and the Hawks. The haters and detractors will always be there. No need to let them steal our joy as Hawks nation!
  21. This is too much. And truly has no business being posted publicly.
  22. Yeah, unless they are thinking of closing meaning we are behind big and trying to score our way back in to the game, I do not see a scenario where we are playing (2) 6’6” wing shooters at the forward positions down the stretch. That’s a tiny lineup that shoot but not much else. Closing to me means that you’re also able to get stops when you need it, I think we definitely want the ball in the hands of Trae-DJ-Bogi late in games, but on the other end you need another defensive presence next to OO in the frontcourt. I would roll with Hunter in that scenario.
  23. Agreed. The way $30mil dollar contracts are being given out these days Dre is a bargain.
  24. All of these players that are “committed” does that mean they were all invited first? I wonder how many players get an invitation, and what the process is as they go through their list.
