  1. Wow, the headline says John Collins was traded to the Hawks. I guess we changed our minds.
  2. I don't think so. They get their paycheck, no matter what team they play for.
  3. Bey is the worst defensive player on the team, and we have more than our fair share of bad defenders. When I got out of the hospital a couple of years ago, I had to use a walker for awhile. My wife and I joke when we watch Hawks and other NBA games, that "I could have done better than that on my walker." Bey is much better on offense than Hunter though.
  4. I don't understand the fascination with Finney-Smith. Using my limited "casual" skills, it appears he is not particularly good on defense, based on his defensive rating. He plays a lot of minutes, but scores at a low rate. Nothing special on the boards. Mediocre free throw shooter. Not a big assist man.
  5. If any team can find a way to mess it up, it would be the Hawks.
  6. I mean traded. He was terrible as the playoffs progressed. Maybe we could get another trade exception and a second rounder.
  7. Why would another team give us "a $25 mil player that's actually worth it" for a trade exception? That sounds like wishful thinking to me. To me, it seems that only desperate, rebuilding teams would do this kind of trade.
  8. No. Trae's not my favorite, but I think KAT is greatly overrated. Unquestionably Trae is the more valuable player.
  9. If the best he can do is the "other" Bogdanovic, I'd prefer he not be active any more. We don't need any more streak shooting, non defense-playing, non-rebounding SFs. We have enough of those already.
  10. I think having Quin and getting finger surgery would put him back to at least an 18/10 guy, especially if we could get Capela out of the lane. If you do those things, neither of your alternatives are likely.
  11. JJ would need to learn how to shoot first (including free throws.)
  12. And if DJM, Bey, OO and JJ are deemed worthy, we will overpay them and be worse off than we were before.
  13. 1. Give Quin a chance to set up a real offense. 2. Convince John to have finger surgery to correct the problems it causes.
  14. Well, we all should be thrilled for the Resslers, I suppose. The wealthy can't be expected to live without multi-home improvements.
  15. Help request from a "casual." I'm trying to figure out what the benefit of JC's trade exemption (exception?) is. Good teams will only want to dump overpaid players. Desperate teams might give away a good player, but in all likelihood they are overpaid also. Either scenario puts us in the same boat that we were in. Can the trade exemption (or exception) be divided among multiple mid range salary players? Otherwise, I fail to see what all the excitement is about, but what can I say? After all, I'm only a casual.
  16. Two over the hill players and two second round draft picks, of course.
  17. JJ is not a good shooter or scorer. He's a decent rebounder and a good passer. It's a trade off
  18. I cannot imagine that offer was really made.
  19. Replacing a shortstop with a catcher we didn't need makes sense to you? Replacing said shortstop with minor league underachievers? Glad you considered my response mind blowing.
  20. They paid less money for Olsen. He has power, but he hits .230-.250 vs .300. Swanson got market value, and the Braves went cheap, promising the greatness of Grissom. We all know how that turned out. Never understood the Murphy hiring. D'Arnaud is nearly as good, and a lot cheaper.
  21. That's OK. Trae has always been punitive in his ball distribution. Who do you like?
  22. Hachimura? Really? Nothing says mediocrity like Hachimura. It makes no sense.
