  1. I would prefer DeRosa and just use a Nate/Melky/Diaz outfield until Heyward is ready. DeRosa can fill in as a backup OF until then and once Heyward is in the lineup, he can be a great backup at every position.
  2. Interesting. He hit 27 home runs for STL 2 years ago and 37 and 38 for Zona and Toronto 5 and 4 years ago. He could provide some power.
  3. I don't feel right just giving him the starting spot. He can compete for the spot, but I don't think he wants that. I have a feeling he wants to get paid moderately well (mle type money) and be a solid contributor on a team.
  4. Nice to see we bring back a guy who got fired by another network.
  5. I hope he continues to do great in the minors and freddie finds his swing. A combo of them with the rest of the team can be great.
  6. I don't think shore up and Chavez should ever be in the same sentence.
  7. The reason it is intent to distribute is because of the amount he had on him. If you have that much they will just arrest you for possession and intent to distribute, since no normal person would smoke that much.
  8. We weren't going to keep him because he would cost way too much to be a 7th inning set-up guy. Plus with that high of a salary, trying to get a team to take him would be hard to do.
  9. I didn't like how he was brought out to be an unstoppable force. He wasn't very tall but he did have some weight behind him. Worst finisher of all time with that spike. The hipcheck into the turnbuckle was fine, but the spike was horrible. Too bad he got addicted to pain killers like so many wrestling stars. Makes you wonder how many of them who don't take roids take pain killers. It would be interesting to see who actually don't take roids. We can guess but...
  10. We have some in our backyard. We live in Gwinnett near Peachtree Industrial so it isn't very rural. Our property backs up to a creek and there is some wooded area, but not much. we saw them last year I believe and now just saw them this weekend. It looked like 2 does. There must be a Buck somewhere, but it is staying hidden fairly well. Too bad we back up to some townhomes or we would be hunting from the bathroom window.
  11. I agree that it isn't tearing anybody down. You put yourself into the public spotlight. If you decide to cheat and have affairs, you should get called out by the media. There is an easy solution to this...just don't cheat.
  12. We might need to find a cheap closer who can get the job done. I'm not sure if wagner, soriano, and gonzalez will be in our price range. In regards to Adreian Gonzalez, I am all for it. He is a beast who is cheap. Yes we would have to pay him in two seasons, but he is a very nice guy from what I read in SI. He would give us a legit power bat at 1B, allowing for the OFs to be more speed and average guys (with the possibility of another power guy to form a 1-2 punch with Adreian).
  13. I hope we go to a crappy bowl game so that Willie is fired. Maybe get blown out at that crappy bowl game. Icing on the cake.
  14. The offense and special teams didn't help the defense this past came. Cox threw an int and gave them a short field. And our kickoff team was horrible. Yes you want to keep it out of Cobbs hands, but if they are getting to the 40 anyway, take your chance with him. But the defense did look bad. Everyone looked bad. Hopefully Murray will be great next year. Green+Charles+Ealey+Murray=solid
  15. If chuck will drive to Gwinnett to pick me up and then pay for my ticket I will go see them.
  16. And Carter is injured. There is a connection there. If it comes down to winning games or letting Teague learn, I hope Woody makes the logical choice there. Teague is a rookie in the NBA. Yes he might be getting killed by some speed, but Teague isn't ready to be getting as many minutes that way. There were several times when Bibby played 2-guard with JJ at the 3 and Crawford running the point. He would get the ball after a rebound, but then give it to Crawford. If Teague shows improvement, he will get minutes. Bibby gives us the best chance to win between him and Teague. With that said, I do think Woody needs to cut back on some minutes. JJ is averaging 38.5 mpg with 45 in last nights game. I want to see less JJ and more of Mo and Teague (Mo because JJ is playing the 3 a lot with crawford and bibby). He needs to have his minutes cut down to around 35 at the most.
  17. Unless he takes the league minimum like the guy in SI this week suggested that Lebron does.
  18. Noooooo. I need snelling to get most of the pt cause I have him in my 20 teamer.
  19. Actually if UGA goes 1-1 in these last games, I can see them ending up in either Nashville or Atlanta for a bowl game. Florida and Bama will make BCS bowls. Capital One gets the next pick so they take LSU. Cotton gets pick from West, they take Ole Miss Outback gets one from the East... Now more than likely the East will be this for the rest of them: Tenn- 7-5 UGA- 7-5 SC- 7-5 (if they beat clemson) I'm not sure if the outback would take UGA over Tenn. I think Kiffin's name recognition would be better than the piss poor uga team. So that leaves the Chick-fil-a bowl, and they could with uga or go with auburn.
  20. I'd go if it didn't involve me forking over so much for a ticket and so much to ride Marta.
  21. What has Paul Johnson done that makes him more accomplished than Richt? I'm not even sure Saban has accomplished more at bama. Two SEC West Titles isn't anything to really brag about. If they win the BCS then maybe, but they haven't yet. At least Richt has a SEc Championship, which Saban doesn't have at Bama.
  22. Link doesn't work. I doubt we extend him. With Hudson back on board, he is likely going to be the one traded. No one wants Lowe's big contract and Kawakami is not worth his money. That leaves Vasquez as the main tradeable piece.
  23. The problem with the current staff is they refuse to make changes. They may try something here and there, but for the most part they stick to their guns. Richt needs to set down with himself and see that him keeping a catch over the offense won't work. He needs to put full trust into an offensive coordinator and let him run his offense. I hope the new offensive coordinator will pass more and not stick to something that doesn't work.
