  1. That Chicago defense was just incredible and threatening in the 4th, making Atlanta get away with a lot of 8 second violations. But they still should've won. All they had to do was shoot a decent percentage at the line.
  2. It's funny how you only blame Teague for his missed free throws when Horford, Smith, and Marvin all missed huge free throws too. All of the free throws were important, not just Teague's, and had the other Hawks players made their free throws before Teague shot his, the game would've already been decided. And just because I'm more on the younger side than you, and haven't been a fan as long as you, doesn't mean I don't know about the Hawks struggles in the past. I just think that a lot of ya'll are pushing the panic button after six gams played, and I know that this type of play is not new for the Hawks. But my point is that after the Hawks win in Miami everybody says that the Hawks can compete with anybody, and as soon as they lose a game, now the Hawks are doomed. Come on now. This team is not perfect. They can't always play the way the fans want them to. I'm mad right now too that they lost this game, but I'm still holding optimism for this team. I don't only look for what they do wrong. I noticed that the Hawks played good for most of the game. At least that's a positive. They competed with the Bulls.
  3. Too muh overreacting. People ready to quit on the team already. This is what's wrong with Hawk fans these days.

    Free Throws

The only good thing I can take out of this game is that the Hawks can compete with the Bulls, but they need to work on their 4th quarter execution, especially on free throws. This has been a reoccurring problem for the Hawks.
  5. What happened to Tracy McGrady. I was thinking after that Heat game he would've got more late minutes off the bench.
  6. We've seen this all before with the Hawks not showing in the 4th quarter and missing clutch free throws. Nothing's new here.
  7. The Magic probably wanna throw Hedo and his contract at us. I think the Lakers' package of Bynum and Gasol might be intriguing to Orlando.
  8. I'm glad that trade didn't go through. I think Dwight Howard is a little overrated. I don't think he's a guy that will show up in big playoff games. I think his best attributes are his defense and rebounding. I don't think he is really a good low post scorer or threat, and he's a very bad free throw shooter. I just think that would be too much to be giving up for him.
  9. The Hawks played way better than what I expected. Their defense was just excellent throughout the whole game. New Jersey just looked terrible on offense. I was a liitle bit nervous beacuse I thought the Hawks were going to blow the big lead, but they kept their composure all night. Now, for the player reviews: Jeff Teague- He was really imressive. He made a few threes, and went to the basket strong and converted on a few layups. He played Deron Williams very well on defense. He controlled the offense well. He didn't play nervous at all, and he made a long three to end the first half. He made some good passes on offense also. Joe Johnson- He looked alright, I guess. He made a couple threes. Overall he played decently, but he didn't really play that much because of the big lead. Can't really say much more. Marvin Williams- He started the game off with a three, then missed a couple of shots after that, but he was very aggresive and attacked the rim often. He played with a lot of energy. Overall, he played well, and got to the line often. Josh Smith- He took a few long 2-point jump shots early, and I believe he took a three with the clock running down. He got an early block. He didn't really play that much, so I can't say much about his play. Al Horford- He made a few close shots early and a few jump shots. He played good defense. He had a nice ally-oop dunk. Willie Green- He played decent. He didn't really wow me, but he looked like he was still trying to figure out the offense, but he made a three and played good defense. Ivan Johnson- Didn't really see that much action until late in the game. Had a little scuffle with Okur. He made a jumper, and wasn't afraid to shoot the ball. Tracy McGrady- He complained too much to the refs. Looked to be agrresive, and found his rhythm after a slow start. He attacked the basket and went to the line. He was okay overall. Zaza Pachulia- Played very well, possibly the best in the game with addition to Radmanovic. He grabbed a lot of offensive rebounds. He just destroyed the Nets frontcourt. He hustled for evey loose ball, and drew a lot of fouls. I'm very impressed with the way he played. He also had a very nice dunk and got fouled for the three point play. Jannero Pargo- He played good. He played good defense, and was a nice addition off the bench. He made a few threes. Vladimir Radmanovic- He played very well as soon as he stepped on the court. He was just killing the Nets with his long range shooting. He made some nice passes too. He also had a very nice dunk. He drew some fouls and converted at the charity stripe. Overall, I was very impressed. Jerry Stackhouse- Only saw him in the game for a few minutes. All I saw from him was a missed three point attempt. I know it was just the first game, but I was very impressed with the defense. It forced the Nets into some tough shots. The ball movement was very good as well. Overall, the Hawks looked great for their season opener. I know that they were playing the Nets, who were playing on a back to back and are not a very good team, but I still liked what I saw. The Hawks could've let the lead slip away like in past games, but they didn't. I would say the performance of the night would go to Teague, Pachulia, and Radmanovic. I can't really choose one. I hope this wasn't just a fluke. I hope the Hawks play with this much energy throughout the season.
  10. Hopefully the Hawks get this W
  11. According to the NBA Season Preview 2011-12 on NBA TV, the Hawks are the oldest team in NBA, having an average of 30.14 years. This is so surprising. I can't believe this. I thought we were one of the youngest teams in the league.
  12. I don't think he would've signed for the vet min with us. I think he only signed for the vet min with the Clippers because he thought that team was going far with Chris Paul coming or whatever.
  13. I think our strength is at SG with Joe and PF with Josh. Horf is undersized at C. Teague is still developing at PG, and Marvin is not as good as he used to be at SF.
  14. Its sad to hear Roy is leaning towards retirement. He was such an underrated player. Sometimes I wished he played for us instead of Joe.
  15. They need to think how the fans feel about this lockout. Us fans deserve the right to watch the NBA season from the expected start to the expected finish. They can't be doing this to us. Basketball is my life. I watch the NBA more than any other sport. I probably gotta watch more college basketball now. This is a shame!
  16. They were leading at halftime in both games and still found ways to lose. They need to stop playing scared. They don't know how to end games off. McCoughtry can't do everything for the team, and you can't be giving up 101 points and expecting to win.
  17. They wasn't really playing that much defense on each other, but Teague did look impressive, with a lot of confidence.
  18. What the hell was McCoughtry thinking? Isn't she supposed to be the leader of this team? She did not look like a leader in game one. Why is she always complaining to the refs? That's not gonna solve anything. A real ball player keeps playing the game, not whining to the refs and then committing stupid fouls on the defensive end. Her team needed her out there on the floor. They need her to produce on the offensive end, and play some defense. I'm sorry. I'm just mad right now. I don't think the Fever are really that good. I was expecting the Dream to come out on top in game one, but it starts with making some damn free throws. That was a horrible percentage they shot at the line in game one. Come on McCoughtry. Play like the all-star I know you are, and pull this series out Dream. I know yall can go all the way this year. I have no doubt about it.
  19. I really like your optimism. Some people on this board need to not only think of the negative, but what this team could be.
  20. I'm rooting for either the Dream to win or the NY Liberty.
  21. How would you feel if your coach didn't have any confidence in you. Drew didn't play him any significant minutes, so how is he supposed to show what he has. And for all the people that's hating on "he who's name shall not be mentioned", well you're wrong. So what if he shot 39% or whatever. He was only a rookie. Give him a break. I'm just happy he's getting minutes on the Wizards because Drew wasn't going to play him anyway. Brandon Jennings doesn't even shoot good from the field, and people think he's good, but he's a little overrated to me. Still, JC2 will be a good NBA player. Just watch and see.
  22. All of the guys that talk trash about women's sports are the same people that wish they made it in the pros but didn't, that's why they feel it's easy to talk about female athletes. I bet you the same guys that are talking trash would get destroyed by those same women that they are talking about.
