  1. I don't know what you guys are arguing but let me clarify my position. Jamal Crawford scores more points per minute than Joe Johnson does. Jamal Crawford shoots a higher percentage from behind the 3 point line than Joe Johnson does. Jamal Crawford draws more fouls than Joe Johnson does. Jamal Crawford shoots better from the FT line than Joe Johnson does. Based on the above facts and from watching the games, my opinion is that Crawford is a better scorer than Joe Johnson is.
  2. Funny but I thought Crawford holds the NBA record for 4 point plays? If they are leaving him open, how is he getting fouled? Oh I get it. They leave him open MORE than Joe. That means Joe holds the record for 4 point plays right?
  3. Excellent point. This would explain the rest of your post. While playing for the same team, Jamal scores more points per minute than Joe does. Jamal plays with the 2nd team more than Joe does. Jamal is a better scorer than Joe is. Oh, and he shoots a higher percentage 3 than Joe does.
  4. For some reason people freak out over losing a player that has never helped a team win a championship. A team wins a championship every year without Joe Johnson. Every single year in the NBA it happens. Just like with Michael Vick. The same thing was said. We can never win without Vick although a team won the SB every year throughout the history of the NFL without Michael Vick. 3 years later the Falcons have back to back winning seasons for the 1st time in history. We'll be fine without Joe. Hell look at the bright side, we haven't won anything with him.
  5. Crawford is the better scorer of the 2. Crawford is the guy you want with the ball in his hands at the buzzer. Crawford gets to the line way more than Joe. Yeah, I think Crawford could easily score 20 per game as the go to guy.
  6. Sorry to hear that. Hope everything goes well. Keep us informed.
  7. “He lets it all out,” Johnson said. “That’s just how he is as a person. You can’t fault him for that. Everybody is made up a little different. That’s just Josh.” This line makes me suspect there isn't the best of friendship between Joe and Josh. Joe is probably just upset because Josh is the best all around player on the team.
  8. And he is almost always horrible in the 4th quarter. Or am I just misinformed?
  9. Well Josh Smith is the team's best player.
  10. It's a good idea for Johnson to go to a team that is "ready-made" because he is not the type of player that can carry a team.
  11. I like Joe fine for what he is. He just isn't this mega superstar that we must break the bank on to re-sign.
  12. You get 20 a game from Joe and that's it, nothing else.
  13. Well Woodson said Josh is probably the teams MVP this year.
  14. Yeah I like Marvin too. It doesn't matter what Marvin does, unless he can average 20 per game and act like someone stole his dog, he will be bashed by many on this board. I think Marvin still has a lot of potential. I think once Joe is gone and Marvin gets more looks, his game will be much improved.
  15. Without Josh the game wouldn't have went to OT. They would have beat us soundly.
  16. So you don't think Josh could average 20 pts if he was the go to guy on offense? He's averaging 15.8 now has very few designed plays in his favor. Come on, you really don't believe he couldn't get 5 more ppg do you?
  17. There are many guys that can average 20 pts per game if they were the go to guy on offense. If Joe played with more energy and enthusiasm and was more of a leader I could understand paying him to stay. But Joe isn't a leader. He isn't the one the team feeds off of. He's just a run up and down the court, dribble a bunch, score 20 and go home kind of player. I still can't get over him dribbling for about 15 seconds last night and still be dribbling when the shot clock went off. I think it's Josh that gets this team going.
  18. Man I want so badly for Marvin to become a star player. I just feel like at any day now he is gonna turn the corner and be who we thought he could be. Bibby is just past his prime and not very productive at this point in his career.
  19. "Josh has probably been our MVP," coach Mike Woodson said at the time. "I just wish he would've made that All-Star team because he has played like an All-Star this year for us. Everything that we have done from a team standpoint in terms of winning and losing has a great deal to do with the way he has played on both ends of the floor." Thanks falc82.
  20. That can't be true. You can't be the MVP if you are not the go-to shooter with the game on the line. :snowballfight:
  21. MVP stands for Most Valuable Player not who you want to give it to in the clutch. Without your MVP you may not have the opportunity to be "in the clutch".
  22. Someone that can close the game out. We have a group of solid players but no "star".
