  1. Humphries was considered a rental and he has stuck around and added great depth. The fact we got ANYTHING for Splitter is pretty amazing and a guy that instantly becomes our best outside shooter is a bonus. I will not support this team if they pull a Braves and tank when they are contenders.
  2. What the holy f*** were we doing even thinking of trading Howard? Gees he has more than lived up to expectations and he is a home town boy. Is this team allergic to legit centers or something?
  3. Last I saw was he would be out 6 more weeks and this was in November. Any chance he ever steps ont he court for us again?
  4. I hope they were just trying to trade Korver and after that unfounded rumors swirled of a tank job and rebuild. We just signed Howard and are in first place, tanking or blowing up the team right now would be completely stupid. Trading Korver right now by itself only signals that we may want to give more minutes to younger players that can play better defense and have more upside. Now trading Korver, Sap, Thabo, TH jr. right now would signal tanking and be an insult to the the fans and Howard
  5. We have a defensive lineup that at least has the potential to stop him. I know we slumped for a bit but we actually beat him this year with this lineup for the first time in awhile at Cleveland. Having a REAL center is something no version of the hawks have had in over a decade and can make a huge difference in the playoffs.
  6. Also it KILLS Moral and breeds an environment of losing.
  7. The Braves have now sucked for several years and sucked last year and their is ZERO guarantee all the moves they have made will pay off. In the Meantime the Braves have been a horribly disappointing team to watch. In Sports you need to remain competitive while tweaking or adjusting a roster. Tanking and trading away talent just gives a big F U to current fans and season ticket holders. As a front office if you are not capable of remaining competitive while still trying to improve then you suck and I won't support you. I will NEVER support putting a fan base through several horrible seasons on purpose in the hope that a million trades and maneuvers eventually may pay off.
  8. Korver trade was more annoying cause we helped out the Cavs. I can almost justify it otherwise as we have younger better defenders that can take his minutes and we've played good without him this season, he's also never been the same since the injury. I'm almost OK moving him but not OK with helping out the Cav's. SAP on the other hand as our best player and glue that holds the team together would kill our season if we traded him.
  9. Yep and this is not a Core that has been through the playoffs together so it's not like we are trying to do the same thing over and over.
  10. Huh? We have not tried in the playoffs with Howard, and DS as a Starter and TH jr. playing well. We certainly are built very differently then previous Hawks teams, we can actually rebound.
  11. We aren't going to win one without him that is for sure. I'd rather be competitive and in the playoffs then something like the Braves have been the last few years
  12. Well without him we may not even make playoffs. It's not sad to want our team to be as good as possible and it is with SAP in the lineup
  13. Good, pay the man till he retires and build around this core of Sap, DS, Howard, Baze, TH jr. We may not win a championship but we are going to be a playoff contender every year and may go places with some luck.
  14. We've been winning with this core. Can we win a championship? Probably only the Cavs and the Warriors can win a championship for the next 5 years or so. That doesn't mean we should pack it in and tank until then. I want enjoyable competitive basketball and we can continue to do that with our current core in place.
  15. Yea it is, he is the core of the team and we have no one waiting to take his place and won;t get an equal player in a trade. If we trade him this year and don't atleast make a good attempt to sign him long term we are going to have a HUGE hole on this team and will be alot worse.
  16. Yea I'm tired of helping our opponents. At least trade out of the conference. At this point I'd rather have SAP walk next year then trade him this year in our conference and get draft picks that never pan out. At least we'd still be competitive this year while he is still here.
  17. Yep we should try and keep our core players while building around them. Sap is our most talented core player
  18. Imagine having all this cap space and a broken team. It's not my money I want our FO to pay players to stay here and at least attempt to mount something capable of being competitive.
  19. Yea it would be silly to blow this team up. Trading SAP right now for draft picks that won't amount to anything would literally be tanking a 1st place team in the division.
  20. I hope he intends to keep the team together and just move around a couple of pieces. We really have alot of pontetial
  21. He's been playing great and there is not any hints of locker room or personel issues. He honestly is doing better than anyone could have hoped. Let's just hope bud doesn't pull the team out from under him and goes in tank mode.
  22. Yea sure we probably aren't going to beat the Cavs in the playoffs but does that mean we just scrap it all and pull an ATL Braves move trading all our young talent for draft picks then if those draft picks pan out trade those players before they earn bigger contracts, rinse and repeat? Yea the dual nature of the NBA sucks right now where the Cavs and Warriors control everything but I don't think that means you scrap a winning team and bide your time until they falter. We have alot of new pieces this years and of course we were going to go through some ups and downs but this team does seems pretty capable once we gel. I'd also hate for us to finally get a decent center in Howard and then scrap it all trying to wait out the Cavs and Warriors. Even if we don't win a championship I'd still want to watch some good competitive Basketball. What Braves have done the last few years have pretty much soured me on watching them again, they pretty much told current fans and season ticket holders to F off since they had no intention to be competitive for a number of years. They are still losing 90+ games a year so it's not like anything has paid off. Trading Millsap and TH JR would be a death blow to this team and show that the team has no commitment to even be competitive the rest of the year.
  23. So? I'm not going to support a Braves like sell off, mish mash of rent a year min wage vets and always trading young talent right before they get a big contract they earned. Pony up and keep our young and upcoming players cause draft picks are a huge gamble. It's a never ending cycle of futility to trade young but proven talent right before they get a bigger contract. Stand your ground and develop young talent for the long haul instead of mid season trades right before they get a payday.
  24. But he is the exact type of player you want to pay to stay here. He is young, versitile already playing great but still has upside. If we are going to pull a Braves move and trade all our good players for draft picks that probably won't pan out as good as the players we traded away I'm not going to support this team.
  25. Why would we trade TH jr if we aren't tanking? He is only 24 and hitting his prime. Trade him and Millsap and we easily miss the playoffs.
