  1. I wanted joe gone and think we paid to much but realistically we had no choice, if we did not sign him there is no possible way we could have paid for a comparable player and we would be a worse team next year. I cannot fault the hawks on this one there really is no one we could have got that would replace him. I hope we get a legit center and the new coaching staff finds better ways to utilize the talent we do have.
  2. Wow I would not like this at ALL, it would be a 1 year rental on a player that is a shadow of his former self that will probably sit out more games that he plays would prevent us from picking up a younger longer term center. A quick fix that probably won't help anyway. We should avoid this he is close to retirement anyway, who says he even last an entire year?
  3. So what are we supposed to do? I don't want to blow up the entire thing but JJ and Woody need to go however it seem no matter what we do with JJ it screws up our cap for along time. I would like to build around Holford, J.Smith, Teague and keep Crawford and even Bibby around strickly for the bench. Everyone else can be replaced as far as I'm concerned but it seem we are probably stuck with M. Williams contract. Sad but it seems our cap is so messed up we have no viable options.
  4. I don't want him back, screw him, we have seen what he is capable of in the playoffs and it is not pretty and not worth the money. Even during the season he is way to streaky to be counted on as the #1 star player for this team. Him and Woody can simply walk away for all I care. We can probably get swept in the second round of the playoffs every year without paying Joe what he is demanding.
  5. After how bad Joe played people are still sticking up for him? We can pretty much pay any shmoe off the street to shoot this badly during the playoffs. Why should we pay him to completely suck at crunch time and then lash out at the fans because he can't shoot?
  6. If JJ stays then we are saddled with a contract that does not allow to do anything and we are stuck with this mediocrity. JJ's contract will handicap this team and we already know he is not a superstar player that can elevate us past more talented teams.
  7. I don't think this team needs to be completely blown up. JJ needs to be a sign and trade he needs to GTFO of this team now. Woody needs to be fired. Smoove needs a serious sit down with the new coach and he needs to buy into the system and the new coach needs to get him to play less sloppy. If he can do that and mature a little bit more smoove, horford are who we build around. We also need to get everyone playing at their proper positions and get some big 7FT center in here to start. If we can do that we are in the finals within 2 years.
  8. At this point he is all talk, and then he walks next season. We will take a hit next year in wins but we will be much better off in the long run without Joe holding our team hostage with his contract and without Woody having no coaching ability. If he wanted a max contract NOW is the time to earn it. Joe needs to elevate his game to over come a team that is better than us. That is what Superstars do. He is not doing that.
  9. Joe is not capable of single handedly putting this team on his back and doing enough to over come a better opponent like the Magic. He is simply NOT one of those players, he is a very good role player that has a very streaky shot but he is not a superstar. Time and time again we've seen him talk the talk then have horrible shooting nights. Sorry I'm pretty much done with him, he can walk this off season for all I care and sign a max contract with the Knicks if he wants.
  10. He has had more than his fair share of games this year where his shooting is either horrible or he totally disappears in a game. Hey if he wasn't demanding MAX money this wouldn't be an issue but if he wants a monster contract that is going to prevent this team from signing future players like it seems he is he better bring his A game all the time. Sorry he is a #2 player not a teams #1 star player.
  11. So is Joe going to put his money where his mouth is and accept a good paying but team friendly contract that does not handicap this team for the next five years? My guess is he goes to the highest bidder and we may take a slight dive next year but end up better off in the long run. He played decent defense today but he has had alot of games this year where his shooting is pathetic.
  12. So since this is family is he going to sign a contract that allows us to become a better team in the future or is he going to leave for who ever pays him the most?
  13. Woodson and JJ can both go out the f'n door. Can't believe our team peaked last year.
  14. Nope, we can't win on the road against decent teams, especially ones that are 1 game from eliminating us. We will probably be blown out next game.
  15. I'm not that worried about us being up by 23 points during the game and only winning by 10 points. That is going to happen this is the playoffs. And it really isn't a blown lead if we never give up the lead. However if we have a big lead and blow it in the 4th QTR and lose the game then all hell is going to break lose, I'm so sick of losing games like that.
  16. Seems silly for Joe to leave here if he wants a legit shot at a title. We are currently on the verge of being an elite team, we are also young and still on the rise. The Lakers and Cleveland would be about the only places for him to go for a better shot at the title. If he goes anywhere else then it's just for the money. At this point though I don't care, he can leave we will recover, it might take a year or two but we are young enough to over come it. Sick of seeing his one on one dribbling in the 4th qtr taking up the entire shot clock just to brick a jump shot. He seems to talk like a leader but never acts like one.
  17. We only have to go 11-11 the rest of the season to get 50 wins. That would be a great achievement for this team. however I really hope this latest win streak means we have straightened out the issues that were causing us to lose double digit leads in the 4qtr. We definitely have lost WAY to many games all season in which we had huge leads in. That has really ticked me off about the team this year. We'd have the best record in the league if we won all the game we had lead in during the 4th qtr.
  18. If Marvin was a better overall player and actually matched 50% of his hype he wouldn't have been on the bench in the first place.
  19. The Hawks have been playing badly for a couple of months now. This team is pretty much falling apart, and we haven't even had any serious injuries to blame this on. That is why it is pretty concerning, same roster that was winning huge at the start of the season is now letting leads slip away and losing alot more games then we should. We are barely ahead of our pace for wins from last year accept this year we may have an even earlier exit in the playoffs if we go into them in a slump like this.
  20. Wow, we can't blow every team every min away, Houston and the Bobcats aren't exactly push overs at home. Even bad teams makes runs especially at home against great teams. As long as we put them away and don't allow them to come back I would not be to worried.
  21. If he wants to win the big one his best bet is to stay here. We have improved each year and actually made it to the second round last year and are probably the best team in the NBA this year. Anywhere else and he starts over, if he stays here we are already almost there.
  22. The answer is simple, pay Joe whatever he wants to stay here. We could have a championship soon and that doesn't happen if Joe's walks no matter what we might get for him if anything. If this team really want to win the big one they need to keep our core unit together for at least another 3 years. If we lose Joe our entire team chemistry goes out the door and we almost start over. Pay him what he wants and keep adding depth and we will win the champioship.
