How many players in the league are really actually better then Trae? A handull at most and Trae is still really young.

Trae again comes off as honest and professional with a desire to win but makes sure not to throw Nate under the bus and makes things more clear then ever that he does not want input into coaching decisions and just wants to play. Wonder how the media will spin it to try and deride him?

There was no way we let Nate go after taking us to the ECF for only the second time since moving to the ATL. Hiring Snyder now eliminates the danger of that by getting a coach we directly picked to be our long term coach instead of risking doing well again in the last half of the season to be forced to go with an interim coach long term that was never intended to happen. The Front office is acting pretty smart trying to avoid mistakes from the past that caused us to be in this position.

So is Trae getting this much hate for how he embarrassed several High profile teams to lead us to the ECF a few years ago? We embarrassed the Knicks and 76ers, killed the career of Simmons and Trae thrived and put a dagger in the Knicks at their place. He deserves more respect for him rising under pressure not to be derided for it. Seems if ATL teams actually do have stars that perform well in the spotlight the media wants to kill that cause our city is meant for fodder for north east teams

Jeff is a Dumbass. If we wait he is gone. He has connections with our front office and was here during some of the Bud years, he knows the building and owners. He is pretty much a perfect fit for us. Either Pounce now before other teams have opening's or pick up scraps during the off season. Its a great idea to get a full time coach now and not have a Nate situation where you go deep in the playoffs and have to go with them. This new front office has been making very good decisions since the reshuffle and learning fton the padt mistakes of the old front office. Im pretty happy with them. I hope it soon translates to wins but they certainly do not sit around when obvious stuff needs to be fixed.

Im not going to stress or speculate about this kind of crap. Its Outside all of our control. This season has been draining enough. I also dont think Trae should have a lone press conference just to get yelled at by the media so Im fine with him skipping on that. Hes not the GM. If he flips out because of our coaching hire the front office either works it out with him or trades him. I do not buy the agenda by the media that he runs the team and has a hissy fit daily about Diva stuff.

I know it was a bit of a dismay all the front office shuffling, team that blew leads etc. but Honestly this new Front office seems to at least understand the Challenge ahead and are not afraid to get people to help. I also liked our last minute trades to try and help the Bench. TS was great and all but the more I hear from the new Front Office and when I hear things like TS was a road block to get DJ I think I'm ok with this new front office. Also I'm ok with an owner that gives a damn and is trying even if they are in-experienced. Their are not a lot of humans on this planet that have experience running an NBA team or managing one, so you have to start somewhere. The fact that the owner is pretty much all in and his son has a huge interest in the success of the team to me is a good thing and not a downside. Also having Korver in the front office I think is a good move, great player very high Basketball IQ and he is not that far removed from the game so he can still work with younger players and younger coaches etc.

I think Nate staying on longer probably has to do with the Front office switch that happened earlier this year. You can't fire a coach with the Front office is in total transition. From a fan standpoint I wanted Nate gone earlier but from a realistic logistical standpoint this is probably the earliest he could have been fired.

I also agree with the idea that if Trae is solely responsible for LP and Nate getting fired when they did then I trust Trae alot more than most players for these decisions, he can be Player/GM then if he is going to make the proper decisions where no one else will. He obviously wasn't the only cause for Nate being fired, how can anyone look at our record and how many games we blew when up by double digits to be ok with the coaches staying around? Every time this year we went up by double digits I pretty much expected us to lose and sure enough that's what we tended to do. That to me says bad coaching and the non ability to adjust.

I'm kind of tired of the league playing Trae as a villian and a coach killer. LP was just NOT the guy, Nate did good at first but his style and results have not been good for the team since the ECF. Had we not gone to the ECF we probably would not have kept Nate but you can't fire a new coach right after they take you to the ECF. The coaches Trae has supposedly gone through should have been let go sooner than they were. This year Trae has actually tries on defense and besides that ONE issue of leaving practice after the Nate issue basically telling him to leave Trae has not been a public issue of any type. I see NOTHING on the court that says Trae is a slacker or coach killer or locker cancer, he is a lifetime 27/10 guy and he is still REALLY young I think the Media is trying to drum up an agenda against Trae and the Hawks and it is silly. A good coach could really turn this team around as we do have a great top 8 on our roster, we just need to flesh out the bench in the off season.

While I was a tad dismayed at the issues with TS and the rumors of Ressler meddling so far this new Front office has made sensible decisions. So Im going to hope for the best and so far Im fine with all the moves they've made.

I really hate adding arbitrary crap to OTs in sports. Just play until one team has more points within a given timeframe or do sudden death for sports like Soccer and Football. College Football crazy rules, baseball just sticking a player on second base just because, the NFL going away from sudden death OT. Makes no real sense, has no real continuity wIth the rules of the game, somebody just made up some crap and that's about it. Wish we could just go back to simple OT.

I saw Trae try and even hustle a bit on defense. Hes just to small to really make a huge impact on D but he did try last night and actually hustled a bit on D. I think we need a couple of more good bench guys focused on defense but we really need a coach that can create a better defensive scheme for us. This is not working on the defensive side and its not all the players fault. A good scheme and more timely coaching can over come that.

Nate needs to get this crap together, we are not shooting well please adjust to create some easier shots.

Yea we need a new coach. We got to much talent to get pasted by one of the worst teams in the league.

Yea I hope GSW sucks it up and goes through with it and the NBA rewards them for not being dicks. Portland should be punished not us.

I like our roster especially our top 8 and now after trades our bench should e better and more focus on being ale to back up our often injured starters. I like Nate but I just think it is time to move on and get a younger coach with better idea's on offense and get someone in that can ratchet up our defense. I think with our top 8 and some tweaks to our depth and the right coach we are contenders. Sad we keep treading water in place with what we have now.

We better get a draft pick from the league if this falls through.

Well looks like the new GM is at least trying to make sensible moves to address our needs. We got 3 players that are better then The 2 players leaving and cost us less. These moves sgow strategy and homework being done

Yea, CCs only issue is staying healthy. Hopefull OO can gain a little more size and Bruno can help when CC musses games each year.

Yea our bench has not been good this year, these moves at least improve the bench a bit.

Ben Simmons is a completely broken player that we broke in the playoffs, I would not let him anywhere near this team our chemistry is fragile enough as it is.
