Definitely agree. The Hawks have to get fair value in any Murray trade. He is an All-Star caliber player. They shouldn't be in a rush to just accept anything.

The Trae hate from the national media has always rang as disingenuous. They know he's a star. He just doesn't play for their favored teams and now they're chomping at the bit because they see an opportunity to drive him out of Atlanta. For the record, I won't blame Trae for looking elsewhere if the Hawks continue the dysfunction. But, the national media narratives about him have always been a joke.

While true in theory, the Hawks aren't likely to get picks with the kind of value of the ones they gave away. If they moved Trae, sure they could get some picks of value. I'm not sold on that happening and I don't think it would be a wise move although I know some disagree. Outside of that (and Murray), I don't see the Hawks getting legitimate first round picks for anyone else. Though it looks bad right now, I think things can be turned around. It will involve personnel changes for sure, but I don't think a full rebuild is the answer or necessary.

I definitely agree that getting a lottery pick this year is more valuable than getting smoked in a play-in or first round matchup. That said, they're not just going to start miraculously winning next season. They're gonna have to start working towards that the rest of the way this season (which may hurt the pick position some). Reading between the lines of Trae's postgame comments, he's a firm believer in Quin which is good. However, it seems that there are guys in that locker room who aren't listening to Quin's message (not good).

Just a reminder. The Hawks owe unprotected picks and a pick swap to the Spurs. Tanking is literally not an option.

Jalen's screen and roll action has been pretty listless tonight. I know the guards aren't looking his way, but he's got to be more decisive. And Matthews shouldn't be out there tonight.

Nah, DJ's deal is not negative value. You don't salary dump him and the Lakers don't get everything they want in this. We'll see what happens. I'll tell you now, if the Hawks accept the deal you're proposing, Trae will soon be asking out.

Multiple reports have already indicated that the Hawks would require Reaves in any deal. Yes, Reaves is a bad defender, but he's more valuable than D'Lo's expiring contract. If they want D'Lo's expiring deal to get off salary, then send Capela or Hunter along. But, you have to get positive value for Murray.

The Hawks won't accept that. Reeves will have to be involved instead of D'Lo.

I wonder if the Hawks will ask for Gabe Vincent in this deal. I know he's injured right now, but he would help with shooting and defense in the backcourt when healthy.
