  1. Hard to gauge his developement since he left highschool a year early and never played college ball. He's playing in Japan now and his first year of eligibility for the NBA draft is 2011. Projected as a 2nd round pick. Seems like he is worth the chance, especially if he is available with the second of our 2 picks (assuming Houston's pick isn't top 40) Stats in Japan mynbadraft.com profile - video's to watch
  2. If Teague scored 20 points everytime someone said he didn't belong he'd average 20 points a game. He deserves to start the rest of the season for the effort he showed, but lets not even start thinking he's magically good now. He has alot of work to do.
  3. It vaguely resembles the offense of a 1st grade aau girls team from near where I live. I'm guessing they snuck some camera's in to tape practices and have worked 24/7 since the Miami game to implement it.
  4. and here I was thinking he was stealing Kobe jerseys.
  5. Win or lose I think Jeff Teague just earned the right to start for the rest of the season with those 3 steals and 6 points at the end of the 1st.
  6. The Hawks are actually just ahead of schedule. They are exceeding expections. Usually this type of poor play starts up half way through the first round of the playoffs and comes to its pinnacle in the 2nd round. It is my theory that the Hawks are trying to force two seasons into one (possibly due to questions surrounding the CBA and whether there will be a season next year) and hit the playoffs just as they are starting "season 2". The Hawks tend to start their seasons well enough and they hope that carries them to the finals. Another theory is that the Larry Drew, Rick Sund, and the ASG (master strategists that they are) are purposefully losing to force a first round match up that they like. My bet is they are looking for a Boston/Atlanta or Miami/Atlanta first round matchup. They just don't want to play Philly or Indy in the first round no matter what since they likely won't sell much of the opposing teams merchandise in the ATL team store. Best case scenario is for the Hawks to play Boston and then Miami in the second round or vice versa. Mike Bibby jersey anyone? One last umm.. fool proof.. um.. strategy is the great Atlanta poker face. This team isn't showing all of its cards and is setting all these good teams up for a huge playoff bluff. The team will slide into the playoffs well under everyone's radar and lay down a royal flush against one team after another. These teams won't know what hit them as they won't expect the Hawks would be able to do any better than a pair of 3's.
  7. In case anyone forgot about the last time these two teams met. Westbrooks so called triple double, Josh Smith bleeding from the head, losing the game. I hope this Hawks team comes out to play with vengeance in mind. Especially if Durant doesn't play and even if Josh doesn't. This Hawks team needs to absolutely dominate the Thunder. If we win by less than 15 points the effort isn't good enough. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEYc08bGWlg
  8. More of a Hawks theme song for the last few games. Like seeing everyone giving that defensive effort even if their shots aren't falling. Definately fits Horford and that Bulls game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9hMLnmeNm4
  9. I like this line: "I call all shots, all wins no losses. Follow me I'm The Boss Of All Bosses." If the rest of the song was more like this line it would be pretty good.
  10. To quote the great Ricky Bobby: "If you ain't first, you're last!" 6 games to go to catch up to Miami.
  11. "Go at their PG" isn't exactly going to work anymore.
  12. No it didn't. You've been poisoned by mediocrity! You need some medicine called luxuria taxcediphine.
  13. The Hawks have always played in streaks both good and bad. You almost need to be a surfer to take all the waves the Hawks throw out at you. The Hawks can win 4 games in a row and all is right in the world and we're thinking we have a chance to reach the eastern conference finals. They lose 3 games in a row and we're thinking they'll get swept in the first round. I want to see how this team performs in the next two weeks before I make any conclusions. They've shown a great deal of energy so far after the trade but will that energy remain for the rest of the season? When they get back to Atlanta are they going to study game film or are they going to go party and get lethargic again? I would go so far to say that the upcoming homestand might be a better indicator as to where this team stands then the last few away games were.
  14. Teague, in my opinion, has always played decently when he is in the game with our core players. When he comes off the bench along with a couple other bench players he just looks horrible. Drew needs to work on his rotations so that Teague always has at least three other reliable players on the floor with him. I can see Drew putting Teague in to change the pace but putting Powell and Wilkins in at the same time. Teague has always been told how he is fast and he can use that to his advantage, but I think he needs to slow down and play without his speed and actually learn how to play without leaning on his physical crutch. Once he learns how to play, what to do in certain situations, where to pass when and why, then he can turn the speed back on and really show us something.
  15. He looks like he can move with the ball a little and he can catch passes on the move (and looks comfortable doing it). Thats two things Zaza has trouble with (moving or not). Seems to foul more than his fair share but that is most back up C's in the league. I can only hope Tito and Al take him aside and motivate him properly and set him up to succeed. He could improve in the right system, or he could be another Randmo. Speaking of Randmo..that guy is like Shaq in China. Oh if only the NBA had more Chinese players he could have been great!
  16. I think there is a chance based on the fact that the Hawks are going to have a very tough schedule for the rest of the season. The schedule will have a larger impact than the Carmelo trade. I still think the Hawks are a better team though.
  17. Hinrich and Crawford have played together in the same lineup before so I don't see why they can't again. You could say this gives Teague the opportunity to be the primary PG backup and increase his minutes and Marvin should be able to provide minutes at sg, sf, and pf as needed. Jamal will have to play within the offense though. Can't have him taking volume shots like he would off the bench. We have 4 other very capable scorers so we need to keep the ball moving and get our easy baskets.
  18. Thanks for making this thread worth reading. If the players really cared about people not being traded then they wouldn't lose the last couple games before the trade deadline so badly. Stop saying you can win with the players we have and actually prove it.
  19. Denver absolutely cleaned house on this trade considering Carmelo and the Knicks supposedly held all the cards. They can now field two.. TWO starting line ups that would be competitive (better than the Nets anyway). I can only imagine what their practices are going to be like. This is the deepest team in the league and they saved about 16m dollars doing it. They have something like 29m in exipirings so they should be able to resign Chandler and Afflalo fairly easy. Another trade or two and this team could be really scary. The Nuggets are now my favorite team in the West. PG- Lawson SG- Afflalo SF- Harrington PF- Martin C- Nene PG- Felton SG- JR Smith SF- Chandler PF- Gallinari C- Mozgov or Birdman As for the Knicks. I'm not scared of them this year. I think they lack depth even more than the Hawks do now. They absolutely need to sign a Chris Paul type when he becomes a free agent and then I think they creep into the top 4 in the east. At that point they'll start getting the older veterans that want to win a title signing with them on the cheap providing them with depth. At least then Miami will have some competition for them.
  20. Instead of foot in mouth for Nique it should be foot in rear for all the Hawks players.
  21. If we're voting here then I'd tend to vote for only Hawks players whether I think they deserve it or not. The NBA is going to set the ballots up and not just Hawks fans would vote so.... Al would be on the ballot as a center and wouldn't make it on votes over Dwight. Josh would be on the ballot as a foward and wouldn't make it on votes over Bosh or Lebron. Joe would be on the ballot as guard and wouldn't make it on votes over Wade but would have a small chance over Wall. I think the starters would end up as: Wall Wade Lebron Bosh Dwight
  22. Ah! I get it now. Roy Williams probably said some nice things about Marvin when he entered the draft and the Hawks listened and took him number 2 overall. This is all part of trying to get even.
  23. I'm assuming it has something to do with having 3 pt range and the fact that Jamal is the only guy we got on the bench that we'd want in the game if its close. Most of our bench players have such a negative impact on the offensive side of the ball that their contributions on defense become mute.
  24. The Lakers would absolutely suck if a trade like this happened. Which means I like it alot!!
