  1. The thing with this team is having a chance to win late in the fourth. If we have a lead, or are behind, or tied we'll more often than not win that game. We just don't have a chance too much when we do lose.
  2. Smh....we lost that game simply because Josh forgot to guard the man
  3. Thanks, Jeff even missed Joe for a 3 last night. I mean he got him the ball but it was off target and Joe was unable to catch and shoot but instead Joe had to go into iso mode and lucky us he made the jumper. Watch Rondo tonight and see him hit his teammates in between the numbers or in stride.I know its 2 different sports but its like Vick in his Falcon days. Vick like Jeff is one of the fastest but their positions require them to make good passes and we all know Vick wasn't good at that. I like Jeff he just needs to work on his passing ability that's all.
  4. That is good but we all know stats can be skewed. How many of those 3's are in the playoffs he faced and had success against? How many are even a 1st - 3rd option on their team? Honestly, do you want Josh facing Paul Pierce, Melo, Lebron, Granger, or even Iggy? And for how long? The entire game or just spot duty? If we're talking about spot duty then I'm all for it but not for him to solely play and defend the 3. Besides, why should he when we have a 6'7 Joe Johnson and a 6'9 Marvin Williams who can defend those players. Those are some pretty good stats though...
  5. Josh should get his point across to Jeff in film session and/or at practice. Heck, he can do it in game but just not by yelling at him as if he's a kid. With that said, to me, Josh is right to be upset at times with Jeff. Honestly, do you guys notice that Jeff does miss Josh on pick and rolls because he not comfortable making that bounce pass through traffic. Also, how many times this year (although few) have Josh given Jeff the ball and ran with him on a break and Jeff either takes it himself or when he try to give it to josh he turns it over. My beef with Teague and today's PG's is that not many can make passes you need you point to make. WE NEED JEFF TO LEARN HOW TO MAKE A BOUNCE PASS AND THE SOFT TOUCH OVER THE TOP PASS. Whenever he try these passes he turns it over. For Jeff to take his game to the next level he needs to learn those passes and learn to finish among the trees in the paint. Josh does need to give him the ball to run the break so he can at least get the opportunity to try. He cant pass it if he dont have it, and for some reason I think Josh knows that and does not care. With all of this.....where is Joe?
  6. I was torn between McHale and Woody
  7. Well it's not like Joe will waste energy trying to score. Seriously though I do not want Josh at the 3. He can't guard that position unless it's Turkoluo or someone of that mold and he will never go inside if so. We can run it throughout a game at times but not as our main lineup.
  8. My guess is because Jeff routinely misses Josh on easy buckets. Jeff gets majority of his assists the D.Rose way by drop offs or uncontested chest passes. Whenever Josh is running with him and the pass involves a bounce through traffic or a soft lob over the top or even the bounce pass off a screen Jeff either not take it or turns it over. If Josh played with a Rondo type.....ah man look out NBA. Don't get me wrong I like Teague I just hope he works on his passing and finishing this offseason to help this team get over the hump.
  9. I have come to the conclusion that Teague just don't have court vision. Too many times I see him miss passes to Josh whether it be a bounce pass or a lob over the top. Teague can only make your simple chest passes or a simple drop off on a dribble drive. Also, Teague really needs to work on his finishing ability in the paint. I swear he would average about 12 points a game if he actually hit those floaters/layups he get at the rim. We really need a point who is a set up man and can knock down open shots. We should have made that move for Ramon Sessions a yr or two back. I believe Teague can be that point we need but it all depends on him and his work ethic and if he comes back next yr having the same problems then I say bench him or trade him.
  10. Joe is often like Lebron and too many times make the "correct basketball play" when we need him to make the "Mj/Kobe" play. After all that is what he is payed for, right?
  11. Good new is that he is on track... http://blogs.ajc.com/hawks/2012/03/02/horford-begins-rehabilitation-process/ I read in a another article that he would be beck for the playoffs but just not 100%. I would post the link but I couldn't find it, but if true I'll take a Al thats 80%.
  12. The only team in the East I think we cant beat in a series is the Heat other than them I think we can beat anyone in a series. If we got a fairly called game against Miami I think we can go 7 with them and hope Lebron chokes
  13. I believe Al would've helped prevent that
  14. Would love to see Zaza in another playoff series against KG, At least we'll have people watching because of how we played them previously. Imagine if we played phili or indy in the first? No one would watch nationally...
  15. http://www.nba.com/standings/team_record_comparison/conferenceNew_Std_Cnf.htmlCurrently Boston is 4th right now...I feel good about our chances to make it out the first round if we finish fifth or sixth. Who would you rather face Boston or Orlando? I say Boston simply for revenge and to be the team to put their big 3 to rest.
  16. I think Josh will either successfully go off or hurt us trying to go off. Hopefully he will drive if the outside shot isnt falling. They have no one who can guard Joe. Lets hope Teague can limit Lin. Knicks will have home court advantage tonight and even more so that usual because the whole Atlanta asian community will be pulling for Lin.
  17. How much would it be to buy into ASG and become a majority owner? I wouldn't want to spend every dime I have to buy them but I would buy a piece of them so I can have all kinds of perks and access to behind the scenes.
  18. The real reason Atlanta fans don't show up are related to 3 things:1- large section of the population from outside town. Someone posted the cite above. But if you look at middle class and above, who are the people who could afford to go to the games, I'd bet closer to 3/4s are out of towners.2- Poor infrastructure. If you don't live by a MARTA station, you are going to be stuck in traffic for a long time to get to a 7pm game.3- Just too much to do. Atlanta is a great city, with great weather, lot's of cheap entertainment alternatives, 2 other pro sports teams, 2 top college programs, and several minor leagues. You nailed it! Those reasons are exactly why you get a mix bag of fans. I stated in an earlier post about your first point about the demographics of Atlanta. There is 4 sides to Atlanta and 3 out of the 4 are predominately low income areas until just recently due to gentrification. A lot of the people with money in Atlanta are not from here and they continue to follow their home teams. I run into people all the time who are surprised when they find out that I was born and raised in Atlanta because they rarely meet someone who is. Fans here for the past 5 yrs have been split on whether to keep Chipper or not because of his inability to remain healthy
  19. Atlanta natives are not d@ck riders to the extent they will pay to see other teams play and beat their home team. The problem with natives is that they are too nonchalant about our sports teams. If the Wizards and Bobcats started to win you will see a lot of their fans come out more only because it's where they are from and since the team is wining they feel more inclined to spend at least $20 to see them while in town.
  20. Not if we keep losing by an average of 20 points whenever we play on national tv
  21. World English Dictionary fanatic (fəˈnætɪk) — n 1. a person whose enthusiasm or zeal for something is extreme orbeyond normal limits http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/fanatic?s=t According to this definition I don't think a fan can truly pull for another team or not at all for their team. The issue is that the Hawks just don't have a legit fan base, because if we did then almost every game will be sold out. You can not call folks who do not pull for a team let alone care about them a fan. A fan is in it through the tough times like us on this site when we won 13 games and our bench was filled with 10 day contract guys (Ira Newble, Corey Benjamin, etc..). Why do the Hawks not have fan base? There are plenty of reason if you ask me. First, too many transplants. Second, true natives to Atlanta grow up in low income areas. Third, the Hawks organization has done nothing to gain and keep fans. Fourth, our top local sports radio is ran by a bunch of yankees who truly doesn't know the heart beat of this city. Yea Megamillion is up to 500 million now....if I won my first purchase would be the hawks.
  22. I still believe when completely healthy we can beat the bulls in a series...if Al didn't disappear last yr we would've did it then.
