  1. I would love to have Cousins as well but I don't think I will trust him to stay focused with a head coach like Drew and in a city like Atlanta.
  2. If Josh is not traded I believe he will ultimately decide to take less to stay here if Dwight decides to come home. The guy has the pac man tattooed on his arm...I think he just trying to get what he can, and if he can't get max anywhere he will stay here and play with his buddy D12. My wishful thinking is a line up of Jeff, Lou, Josh, Al, and Dwight.
  3. Jeff just need to be aggressive on a more consistent basis...if he can do that than he is a good point guard. As stated above he needs to develop a off the dribble pull up jumper to get to that all-star level. Not quite sure if its possible at this stage b/c of where he releases the ball on his shots.
  4. Only person that would get players, local, and national respect. I say he is our only option if we really want to win. JVG will never come here...he hates Atlanta.
  5. Same thing every year with the Josh trade talk...just like previous years he will be a Hawk until the end of the season for sure.
  6. He should regardless...but like with Joe I would not be mad at him for taking the money. I know I would if it was offered to me and I'm not like Lebron with tons of endorsements lined up plus appearance checks coming in left and right.
  7. It's easy for Lebron to take a pay cut because he obviously more than make up for it in so many other areas with all his endorsements. I don't blame Josh for trying to get as much as he can but as a fan I would like for him to sign for less than max so we can spend more on completing the team.
  8. I'm with you...I love those jerseys! I play with the Hawks on 2k13 and wear those jerseys every time. I was born in 1987 so my love for the hawks and the nba developed in the 90's so I am sure that is the reason why I like them so much. Steve Smith was my fav player, I used to call myself "Smitty" and write it on my basketball shoes since my last name is Smith as well. I'm a die hard Hawks fan and know the go to classic is the Pac Man logo jerseys....I have a tattoo of it on the inside of my left arm.
  9. QUOTABLE II: "We're getting to know each other, we're learning. This game was big for us. Probably without Josh (Smith) most people didn't give us no kind of chance. With Josh not being here we all needed to step it up." -- Horford. http://www.nba.com/games/20121104/ATLOKC/gameinfo.html?ls=iref:nbahpgt[0021200040] Even the Lakers have to learn how to play with each other.
  10. In the first game Al was no where to be found because of him being way to passive, he stated this himself. If Al was as aggressive in that game as he was last night we will be 2-0 even with Harden killing us the way he did. I do not believe it was josh fault for his passiveness. We can be a good team this yr still with both Al and Josh attacking and rebounding. If i'm not mistaken Josh beat this same team last yr without Joe or Al and put up better numbers. No one wanted to get rid of Al then, did they?
  11. Josh is no Chihuahua, just ask Boozer. Josh may cry about calls, but what NBA star player doesn't besides Joe. No one gets into Josh face personally or call him out and if they have he has stood his ground. I believe you are talking about the "Boss"

I say we go for Kirilenko...
  13. Get rid of Joe and I bet you Josh would stay then. This is our only way to make a move towards something new. If ASG would spend some money and get a real coach those 3 games will blossom either more. Look at it this way, without Joe we still will have 2 allstars and Jeff could be one with more consistent play. They just play more aggressive and together without Joe. Remember the effort against OKC without him? Just add AL to that team and that is a team I would like to watch. Joe just gotta go, his "ho hum" personality rubs off on everyone who becomes a hawk.
  14. So what can we do about it? Anyone knows how to get one of those Facebook petitions going? If so, do it. I would love to prove that there are real fans of an Atlanta sports team.
  15. Its a combination of things why we don't support the hawks they way should. Its not just this teams fault but its Dominique and Doc Rivers fault for not beating the Celtics in '87. Its the 90's teams fault for not winning any meaningful postseason games. Its this team fault for not capitalizing on a performance in '08 that took the city by surprise by following it up with a 7 game series against Miami and a sweep against Cleveland by a average of 20 and again the next yr against the Magic. Blame it all on the Braves for winning 14 straight division titles and only 1 world series. Blame the Falcons for laying a egg in '98 and getting embarrassed their last 2 playoff appearances. Lets be real, it is easy to be a Boston fan when you have the Patriots, Celtics, and Red Sox for a stretch winning big time and not just enough to be somewhat relevant. I have folks who are older than me who have been disappointed more than me tell me time and time again not to believe in our teams because they will let you down. Sadly to say, but I am slowly becoming that way. I don't know about you guys but I do not have the money to go to a lot of games, I wish I did, but I'm not spending my hard earned money on a team that won't give me their all every time they hit the floor/field.
  16. The day of Game 5 I wore my Hawks fitted cap all day long, so today I am doing the same. What is something you guys did different on Tuesday for the game? Since we won, let us do our part and do whatever it was again today.
  17. Boston is no where as deep as Dallas was last yr, nor can they shoot as well as that team. Boston is old and garbage outside their big 4 with no real effective inside presence. If our Hawks will play the way their supposed to they most definitely contend for the east at least. Again, the question is have they grown mentally enough to do it? Early on with Al we looked good with what our team defense was and having the ability to get 15-20 from any position. That is exactly why I am so intrigued about tonight's game. If we pull this out, it will tell me that this team is ready to take that next step as a collective unit. Early they looked the part and now this is their first time together since. Go Hawks!
  18. I agree, but the problem is how many times have they done what they should do?
  19. Im happy Al has come back and has help lift us to another level. I am one of those posters calling him out about not being there at the start of the series. Al said himself that he was debating on playing in last night game because of the pain he was in from Game 4. I simply was trying to get you guys and Al to understand that his and y'all worries are all mental. Al just needed to get on the court and let his competitive nature and adrenaline to take over. Finally he has done that and look what happens, now we just need Zaza to do the same.
  20. Is there any chance Zaza come back Thursday? If so, that would be huge for us!
  21. Big props to Al! Thank you very much for sucking it up and playing through the emotions. Hopefully now Zaza can come back and give us another boost.
  22. Its ok man, getting our hopes up is what real fans do....
  23. What do you expect when you go against an organization who has won, what, 16 championships? I agree, we have not consistently played at a hard level for the refs to give us that benefit of doubt that the Celtics has earned.I do not like KG and Pierce but I do wish we had them or at least some resemblance of them. KG is constantly vocal and in the younger player ears and Pierce is constantly stepping up and hitting big shots. If only Joe was like one of them mentally, man we would be nice, but instead we get a mute passive adult.
  24. So what has changed for him to give it a go tonight? I thought he couldn't contribute because he doesn't have full rang of motion...
