  1. What's really going on?! Somebody help me please! Hand down.. Man down..
  2. When was there ever a news conference explaining his side? Thats the point Northcyde and I are making. And I don't see him getting another gm job for that reason. He's a douchebag. Hand down.. Man down..
  3. What did you not understand? I'm pretty confident in what I just stated. I personally know a CEO that went through the psych evaluation. But carry on. Your lack of knowledge is entertaining. Hand down.. Man down..
  4. Its funny how people are blind to things that smack them right in the face. Ferry sunk his own boat and did nothing to try and plug the holes. I'm pretty sure he knows he screwed up, but like all egotistical a-holes, he refuses to admit it. That's a dangerous trait for the leader of an organization. And this is why most companies put their potential leadership candidates through rigorous psychological testing. Ferry's done as a NBA GM, and he knows it. That's why he took the large sum of money and ran off like the coward he is.. Hand down.. Man down..
  5. Danny Ferry just might be the Thomas Dimitroff of basketball. He's pretty good with managing contracts, but he's horrible at evaluating talent. Give the credit to the coaching staff.
  6. I doubt any organization will touch Ferry for a longtime. Hawks fans are seriously over valuing this guy.
  7. I could care less about Ferry's departure. Good salesman and negotiator when it comes to trades. But, he's horrid when it comes to evaluating talent. The only players he drafted that ended up being worth something were Mike Scott and Mike Muscala. Everyone else ended up being terrible, and Dennis Schröder was Coach Budenholzers pick. Danny Ferry sealed his fate the minute he pranced around the Hawks Facilities like his sh** didn't stink. He's a coward that's highly overrated in the gm world. Denying a statue of the man who turned this franchise into a household name just speaks of douchebaggery. Have you guys thought about the players opinion on him coming back? I'm pretty sure they played a part in the decision.
  8. Thanks for your positive response! I wish others would've taken your approach.
  9. Mess? The only mess we had was Joe's contract and ownership. The Hawks were already a consistent playoff team.
  10. I knew Sap was a good pick up, but I hated the amount of years on the deal. I had a feeling he would breakout with the Hawks. His game was still raw and all he needed was a little bit of development on his outside game. Now he's a mismatch for any team at the power forward spot. Just look at the numbers he put up while injured. Demarre Carrolls development blindsided me a bit to be honest. I liked his defense, but his shooting was bad. I felt he would be a good project guy that could do well if he listened and worked. Obviously I was correct. My issue is with the handling of his contract. Why not push a team option on the third year? Why did Ferry have a hard time selling the opportunity to a journeyman? I'm sorry.. Its hard for me to grasp DMC having superstar negotiation treatment. Especially when the chips were in our pockets. Dude should've been happy to get a call from team with a playoff pedigree coach and the opportunity to start. I don't know how Ferry dropped the ball during negotiations. Are we forgetting that Paul Millsap played in the loaded West for majority of his career? And also while with the Utah Jazz he played behind allstars veterans Carlos Boozer and Andrei Kirilenko. I've always liked Millsaps game and I knew Utah's coaching staff were poor at player development. Hand down.. Man down..
  11. Nitpicking? If we lose both of these guys, our franchise will take a nosedive. But hey, I'm still upset about our injury riddled team missing the finals. Smh. You're reaching homie..
  12. I know he offered longer contracts to them, but I'm sure the reason they wanted to wait was due to the money offered. Millsap could've been offered $1m or $2m more to lock him in long-term. As for Demarre, I'm still over here scratching my head. You can't sell a career journeyman into a longer contract? Haha. What?
  13. Woah! Simmer down a tad. We all know you "heart" Ferry. This is constructive criticism based off facts. As a gm, Ferrys strategy to bring Millsap in on a two year deal offered no benefit for the franchise. Even if Ferry thought Millsaps production wouldn't exceed expectations, you have to understand the truth. Millsaps heavy usage alone on a team with limited talent would cause for a high spike in his production. Obviously Sap and his agent knew that, but Ferry was too arrogant to take it into account. Even worse, how can you not think about the tv deal? I would rather pay Sap the extra $2m two years ago than give him and his agent that much control. A 4yr $44m deal would've probably gotten Sap to sign here long-term. Danny should've paid him earlier. Now, we may end up overpaying him.
  14. I thought Danny Ferry was some type of genius. But looking at how Demarre and Saps contracts were setup it seems he's outsmarted himself. Two years later, with our franchise making an Eastern Conference Finals appearance after 40+ years, we may be looking at a costly setback. If we choose to pay both of these guys their market value, our franchise could be crippled once again. Do we trade Horford to offset the cap money spent? Do we hinder ourselves from any other free agency choices that could help this team? Or do we overpay one and let the other go? These are the results of a bad gamble by Danny Ferry. He literally put a borderline all-star in Paul Millsap and a NBA journeyman in Demarre Carroll into the perfect system to increase their value while leaving the Hawks with no control. We're screwed! And Danny Ferry once again shows how he's severely overrated. He's turned the Atlanta Hawks into an incubator for borderline players to develop and leave for the big bucks. What's our best solution in this case, and will it cause this team to regress next year? This reminds me of the gamble Dimitroff and Mike Smith took with not resigning John Abraham. The Falcons took a nose dive and haven't recovered yet.
  15. Yeah, he's definitely out to get his during free agency. You can tell by his instagram posts that Demarres has flipped on the self marketing switch. Oh well.. We can make another Demarre, but can he translate his success to another team...?
  16. He's had a tough year on the defensive end but I blame that on the Orlando Magic coaching staff. They never settled him into a permanent position. He had to play the small forward and power forward spot. I believe our coaching staff can turn him into a defensive juggernaut. The kid has the size at 6'9 to be a defensive nuisance. Imagine him playing alongside Thabo. It would be terrorizing. Hand down.. Man down..
  17. Demarres Carroll's a journeyman that finally found the perfect system for his game. Trevor Ariza fell into the same luck when he went to the Lakers. Going off of what Ariza got in his free agency year, Demarre will get $8m/yr at the most. ESPN has a long Summer so please don't fall for their filler. We're talking about a free agency with much younger small forwards like Jae Crowder (25), Tobias Harris (22), and Jimmy Butler (25). All of those guys can knocked down the three, defend the opponents best player, and create their own shots of the dribble. Shot creation will hurt Demarres payday. Hand down.. Man down..
  18. No I'm basing it off of his lackluster performance in a win or go home playoff game. He literally put up 2 damn points. Muscala put up more than that in just 3 minutes and 30 seconds. And it was against Timofey Mozgov. Hand down.. Man down..
  19. Sap and Horford won't get significant raises. The only player I see getting a significant raise is Demarre Carroll. Hawks will resign him for 4 years at $7m per. Saps shooting shoulder will need surgery so no team will pay him generously at his age and current health. Horford hasn't done much performance wise to separate himself from the rest of his peers at his position. His performance isn't much of a game changer on a nightly basis. He's a good veteran third option. I still see a couple young players who outplay Al at a cheaper price. John Jenkins will be back because Kyle Korvers getting older. I think coach Bud tells him to work on his defense and handles during the off-season. The kid can shoot and shooter are hard to come by in the NBA. Demarre Carroll 4yr $28m Paul Millsap 3yr + 1yr p/o $44m Al Horford 4yr $56m John Jenkins 2yr $3.6m Hand down.. Man down..
  20. Baseless? Two points in an elimination game? Really? Tito sprinkled some Ferry (non pun intended) dust on y'all foreheads or something.
  21. I can't believe an all star in his 7th season went out like a soft chump. For years I've watched folks make excuses when he continued to show up every season with the same jab step and no post moves. All of the complaints about his size at center. The "BOSS" title.. Which should be stripped from his name. Its annoying, disheartening, and it says a lot about our fan base. We have coddled the Golden Boy to the point he sat on the bench with no complaints. He's not a leader.. He's a fraud in the worst kind. Leaders uplift their teammates and become the x-factor when the chips are down. Horford took two shots and decided to mentally check out after they missed. It took a second year player in Muscala to get in the game and somewhat bring a respect to the post. He took Mozgov off the dribble with one move. The kid has game but needs to bulk up. The only way Horford gets it together next year is for Moose to make his seat hot.
  22. I was thinking about this during the second half of the season too. Our offense is about rhythm, pace, and everyone being on the same page. Why mess with your chemistry in order to rest guys? Terrible coaching idea! I can't remember the name of the Squawker that made the post about this very same topic. Maybe it was Diesel, Bonkers, or MaceCase? I can't remember.. But the resting strategy ended up being a disaster so far.
  23. Scott would've knocked down those shots if he wasn't buried on the bench. Most of you guys speak from a fan perspective. Its hard to sit 12+ games and then come in and shoot effectively. He played well defensively and took open shots. Al and Millsap deserve the criticism. Yeah, Dellavadova plays dirty but you have to think like a leader. There's no way you should take a chance like that in a pivotal playoff game. Horfords a complete idiot for being that selfish. If Millsap closed out correctly, three 3 point shots wouldn't be taken wide open. He killed the team with his hero ball on defense. Why does Bud struggle with out of bounds plays?
