  1. Quote: but if he would rather play overseas, do we want him here? I think him wanting to play overseas says more about our ownership than it does about his personality.
  2. Quote: 5 years $33-$35 million is competitive with other offers Childress would have receive by any other NBA team. where are you getting those numbers from? Is there a link to where this deal was offered?
  3. Quote: Quote: so you really think that the ASG isn't incompetent. i've been saying it since day one, get the guys signed. this is what happens when you sit around and wait on things. things happen I don't understand, a competitive deal was on the table but Childress refuse to sign it! What else can the GM do? I don't understand how you can be so sure the deal they offered was really competitive.

    Can't we...

do you seriously think Salim has value? he'll be lucky to get a job next year. no team is going to give up anything to get him.
  5. Quote: Uhm... let me reveal this to you. Everybody here has an agenda. I've been here long enough to know that. It just gets old when every post is trying to further your own agenda.
  6. We'll see. I just don't see him locking himself in with a team that's not a sure fire title contender, unless he's completely out of options.
  7. Quote: I try to avoid these arguments about Marvin because I feel there are two sides-those who vastly overrate Marvin and those who vastly underrate what he brings to the team. yep. it's a lot of agenda and bias going on in all Marvin discussions here.
  8. Quote: Our eyes should be on LAC. I think they can come up with something, but I would think that if they did, it would be for a guy like Okafor. Really? I think Smith would fit in better with Davis and Kaman than Okafor would.
  9. Quote: Would a deal starting at $1.9M get him here? In this market, it just might. that's where I disagree with you. 1.9 isn't much more than the vet's minimum. I think he'd much rather take a million to play for a team that's guaranteed to go deep into the playoffs.
  10. Quote: Maggette just signed for 5 and 50 mil. You think Marvin is worth that? Maggette's not worth that either.
  11. we're only gonna be considered contenders by fellow Hawk fans. We didn't even win half our games last year.
  12. Quote: Here's why I think that. Not one mention of resigning MW. Yes, they are focused upon the Joshes but not even a peep about an offer to MW (unlike JS). I do not expect MW to be extended an offer but I-F MW is extended an offer at this time, it will be LOW. W that's probably part low expectations, part short-sighted/cheapness.
  13. Deke's the only one I can remember.
  14. unless he's overpaid, he'll go to a contender.
  15. Quote: I don't think a sign-and-trade with the Clippers will happen. Either he signs with the Clippers and we match, he signs with LAC and we don't match or he signs with us. agreed.
  16. Quote: What I was implying (Obviously YOU'RE too DUMB to realize that) is that we could've easily signed our FA's last summer for the cheap, and filled out our rosters with FA's already. the problem with that is our FA's didn't want to be signed for the cheap and they do have a say in it.
  17. Quote: Better than the Clips IMO. Yeah, but the Clips still have cap room, don't they? The Warriors are done I think.
  18. I don't think you understand how it works. it's not the same as on NBALive.
  19. Quote: Get a grip they're not giving up Kaman or anything else of value. What did Phoenix get for JJ - Diaw and picks? We have absolutely no leverage if we don't match their offer - so there won't be anything coming back but a scrub and picks. I agree. Plus, LA already lost a big forward, they're not going to trade away one of the few legit centers in the league to get an undersized power forward. they'd be better off signing him to a front loaded offer sheet and hope the Hawks don't match. and if the Hawks do match, doing the same with Okafur, or settling for Kwame or someone else.
  20. With GS overpaying for an aging injury prone Maggette, they're the front runner in my book.
  21. Quote: Quote: they are the Clippers. Now we have the cage match of the century, Donald Sterling vs the ASG. Yeah, where's Vince McMahon when you need him? No wonder their ratings are going down.... I'm going with the ASG using a 'foreign object' on Sterling to pull out the win... You never know...one of the Belkin could easily pull out a folding chair and turn against the rest of the ASG.
  22. I wouldn't mind trading Marv, but I don't want to leave Acie as our starting PG.
  23. Quote: I'm also obese, out of shape, and uncoordinated. But I'd like to play. When? Ditto. My main problem is I work til 5 though.
  24. Quote: That is because Howard is a 0-6 year player. The max deal for that type of player is 25% of the cap. Rashard is a 7-9 year player and the max deal for that type of player is 30% of the cap. Keep in mind they also get a max of 10.5% raises (these are simple raises, not compounded) so that adds onto the value of Rashard's contract since he starts at a higher amount. It has nothing to do with talent and everything to do with the way the CBA is structured. Howard will get a higher raise increases won't he? Or has that changed? I know it used to be 12.5% if you were resigning with your current team.
