  1. Quote: The real story is that when he did the offending articles it was about players Knight was hoping would drop to the Hawks. Instead they were drafted higher than our picks and Knight banned the media from attending the workouts. I think MCJ's bad shooting is being highlighted with the hopes that he'll drop and be there when the Hawks pick at 11.
  2. Quote: Here is DIESEL's Wish LIST of trades, acquisition for this offseason: 1. Trade for Dwight Howard. I would trade anybody we have (including JJ) in the right deal for Howard. I would not give up the chance to get a PG though so we would have to retain 1 draft pick. 2. Trade for Gasol Preferably a trade involvoing Speedy and #3 + Player and Filler. I would not give up JJ or JSmoove for Gasol.. but any other player could be consider Player. I would not give up 2 core players. Our ending contracts are consider Filler. I wouldn't want to trade JJ, but other than that, I'm right with you on these two. Cept, I'd add a Trade for Garnett in between them.
  3. Quote: Debbie Downer here... If we obtain a "name," there's 3 pre-reqs as far as I'm concerned: 1) Proven low-post complement to JJ, preferably capable of playing defense against an opponent's C 2) No older than 27 (so skills aren't as likely to deteriorate rather suddenly) 3) At least 3 years remaining on current contract (so we don't get left soon after the honeymoon for another suitor) I hear you, but I'd still take KG in a heartbeat if the price was right. 31 isn't ancient, and he'd certainly be a great asset on the court as well as provide a boost in our team's visibiltiy.
  4. No way I trade Marvin for that. And no, Durant's not going to be a power forward for atleast a few years. I'd like to try and take either Wilcox or one of Seattle's project bigs in a trade if possible.
  5. Quote: I'd rather throw the farm at KG than throw much of anything for JO. Ditto.
  6. Quote: I couldn't figure out if they were ill-informed, just trying to boost ratings, or just flat-out stupid. D. All of the above.
  7. Quote: The biggest issue I have with Yi Jianlian is his ability to defend in the post. Outside of that, Yi has all of the offensive ability you could possibly want in a low post player. He's Pau Gasol with a better jumper. So you're not worried he'll shrink from contact in the post?
  8. it sounds like we want to be in the lottery forever.
  9. Quote: The only reason I could come up with for picking Yi is to try to gain more revenue/publicity. Besides that, he doesn't fill any need. That is not the same as saying he sucks or will be a bust, we just don't have a need for what he does well and his liabilities will only increase what are already our liabilities. I agree completely.
  10. You're right Dragitoff. I think if we were giving up the 3 instead of the 11, it would make more sense for Charlotte.
  11. Man. Great offer. If I wasn't out of town for Turkey Day, I'd be all over it! Have fun everyone
  12. Quote: Isn't that right, hawksfanatic? Just messing with you On the trade, it's really hard to say for sure without knowing exactly what else is being offered, but I'd lean toward taking the Indy trade, unless, another team was offering a deal with a first round pick and no bad contracts.
  13. I'm still upset about how I feel the draft was bungled, but other than that, it's been a decent off season, all things considered.
  14. They may not be world beaters, but they're legit NBA players, which Edwards is not. Who did you think they were going to get?
  15. Quote: diesel, you're right about the cash statement. when have you heard of a deal being held up by the amount of green being offered. I agree. Bernie made it seem like the hold up in getting this name big that we had our eyes on, was the cash from this deal. It's not exactly comforting.
  16. Quote: Quote: Did Bernie say a C or a Big? He said a big. But he also mentioned backing up Zaza.
  17. Quote: Like Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, Tayshaun Prince, Andre Kirilenko, Gilbert Arenas, Ben Wallace, Rashard Lewis, and many other players available in the late first round? A role player is the best we can hope for? Really? Who are we kidding? Knight will give a guarantee to draft whatever 6'8 guy he falls in love with without working out.
  18. Quote: Quote: I'm not sure who'll start, and I doubt Woody does either yet, but after summer leagues, my best bet is that we start Speedy/Lue JJ/Salim Marvin/Chill Smith/Shelden Zaza/?? [/indent] That's the linup I'm hoping we see.
  19. Lover Marvin Joe Johnson Josh Smith Hater A.I. Shelden Williams
  20. Quote: So effin what! Chris Paul is not a Hawks and will not be a hawk so stop f***in cryin about it. I agree. Let's quit crying about last year's draft oversight and [censored] about this year's draft blunder!!
  21. I picked Cato. But, is Melvin Ely still a free agent? I'd rather him than any of this list.
  22. Quote: Next, Joe Johnson's overall game will immediately diminish upon the arrival of Allen Iverson, because suddenly, the ball will be in his hands much, much less than it should be. That's the main thing I'd worry about. Not just Joe, but Marvin also would become nothing more than spot up jump shooters waiting around to play off of Iverson.
  23. I have a lot more problems with his style of play and his need to dominate the ball than I do with his image. I'm dead set against any Iverson trade.
  24. Quote: I read somewhere that there may be a third team involved and to be quite honest I certainly hope thats the case cuz there isn't anything that Indy could or WOULD offer that would make any sense for the Atlanta Hawks...any guy on Indy that would or could possibly be thrown into this deal isn't any person you'd write home about What I don't understand is even bothering to release the information that Als been shipped off when theirs MINIMAL details for either side...its gotta be one of the most unclear deals I've ever seen heard or read about... It's a weird deal. The fact that only one local station is reporting it is pretty unique. I would've figured that an hour or so after they broke it, several other bigger sources would've found a way to either confirm or deny it. The fact that it hasen't been squashed or confirmed make me believe that it's real, but not quite complete yet. I think there's at least one other team involved, and the teams are still figuring things out. The basics could be agreed to, but stuff like pick protection, cash include, and future considerations might be being tweaked.
