  1. Yeah, I didn't mean Kelly = Scott / Scott = Kelly in terms of minutes. I agree that Scott's (of course) a superior player, and sometimes has even carried this team to wins on occasion. I totally agree he will get minutes when he's healthy (and assuming it's now safe to assume... I'm doing a lot of knocking on wood today... that he's going to make it through the legal calendar now that we've learned a first continuance was granted). It will be interesting to see whose minutes suffer, though. Great problem to have.
  2. Moose' production is a surprise, but his role is unchanged, imo. He's not a traditional PF, but he's also not a traditional C. Kelly is the new Scott until the old Scott returns... and once that occurs, assuming no new injuries (... he said, fully cognizant that D8 said his leg hurts, and knocking on wood... ) I'm persuaded we'll see a 3rd PG on the roster replacing Kelly. Gotta be extra anxious right now for Splitter to get back. One thing we learned last night is Bud will pick and choose which Cs he'll have Moose guard. Clearly he thought even the shorter white guy vs. the behemoth Heat C was a better option for those few minutes Hump was on the floor.
  3. Funny... that's almost word for word what another Cowboy fan told me about my Hawks. Who to believe?!? (hehe)
  4. I like that part. I love this part. I love that part because of what it says about where his heart has always been, and how he says it tells me he's on a mission. I think we've been satisfied to exceed expectations before. This is more than that as I read it... this is, I want to help lead this team to de-throne those guys.
  5. Enjoying it, don't get me wrong. But can this many players really be performing this well above their historical means? Such is my sports fan life at the moment... I've been waiting for Dak Prescott and crew to come back to earth for weeks, but (thankfully) they've just kept rocketing upward. Trying to keep my feet firmly on the ground, as resistant to getting too up as I am to getting too down. Of course, the former is the nicer problem to have.
  6. Every party has a pooper... count me as skeptical we can keep this up.
  7. Alas, it may have just happened... the era of infallibility seems to have passed, as I believe the last one of us may have gotten something wrong. :) "...As more trends and numbers develop with each game, the Hawks have shown to be a much better team with Delaney on the court. While the sample size is still relatively small, the on/off splits are telling of his success. With Delaney off the court, Atlanta’s offensive rating is 104.7 and its defensive rating is 105.6. Opponents are scoring .9 more points per 100 possessions than the Hawks when he isn’t on the floor. With Delaney on the court, Atlanta’s ORtg jumps up to 114.9, and its DRtg falls to 88.7. Atlanta is 26.2 points per 100 possessions better than its opponent when he is playing, making Delaney’s on/off net rating plus-27.1..." http://www.peachtreehoops.com/2016/11/14/13620998/malcolm-delaney-erased-doubt-atlanta-hawks-point-guard
  8. If it's a coaching problem, and if you're one who thinks we need someone to come in, I seem to recall that Steve Smith cat was a pretty decent wing passer into the post. Or, alternatively, anyone know what Grant Hill is doing these days?
  9. Maybe it's not dump-ins specifically that are the trouble, but Korver's stat--leading all other wings in TOV--belies the assertion.
  10. No, it doesn't work that way, at least if I understand correctly. That is, for any team that signs him--including us--it reduces the amount from the first contract that we would be paying him. And since that contract was for the minimum, it naturally follows that our second contract essentially replaces the first (unless of course, we were for some reason to pay him more).
  11. Related thought... if Scott gets back, that might mean Kelly's gone and Jarrett Jack is back. It might.
  12. Yeah, that was as recently as a month ago, wasn't it? ;)
  13. (...he said, in his best Rosanne Rosanadanna voice...)
  14. Really, our fans nor theirs have any business protesting at this point, now that Hinkie is gone.
  15. I take this to mean C-Viv is pretty sure Splitter's back next week... and based on the plural form (assignments), I'm wondering if that's happenstance, or if Scott also is getting back.
  16. Yes, they do. I'm a big Nationals fan, too. But we probably shouldn't say anything about that here, @Dakin. ;)
  17. Just now getting around to the final board. At the moment, @thecampster is putting us all to shame. (Dish me out all that kind of shame you want.)
  18. I don't know about going away, but if it's all reduced to the weed charge, there's significantly less impact. You say "as it should." To me, that would be an indictment of our system. You don't give a guy a freebee b/c he's famous or rich. This isn't like a circumstantial evidence thing, this is caught red-handed and with a confession. That's all just Justice 101, imo, and if it goes away with a whimper, we fail.
  19. But once again... ANY conviction automatically results in NBA suspension, per the CBA. He could get fined $5 and probation for one day, and it's still the same thing. If he gets off, it's going to require the county dropping the molly charge altogether. I suppose that's possible.
  20. So, two thoughts. [1] I suppose one could conjecture from this that Mike's going to make it through the season with his eligibility intact after all--just the first of as many continuances as it takes... and... [2] Why are we learning this only after the 11/7 date from the beat writer? I mean, it's public record, right? How hard can it be? I dunno.

This qualifies as an odd or end, I believe...

    Moose love

I know this much... he's totally screwing up my Zaza comparison now. And, needless to say, I hope he continues to do so. :)
  23. He's got a point. I hate to say it. But he does. On the one hand, I'm really not sure we're actually playing anywhere near our peak level, and yet have played well enough to be at .750. We can take better care of the ball, obviously, and we're clearly still very much tinkering with how to run the offense incorporating D8 efficiently. The counterbalance is, I'm not sure how often we're going to be prone to playing more like we did in our two losses. Those were stinkers.
  24. It's 2016. I'm honestly a little dumbfounded that this franchise is going to wait 3 years to have their own team. When has any team waited 3 years? It's routinely been accomplished in half that time, if not even quicker. I get it that they're building a physical structure, but what's to keep the team from establishing a D-league team playing somewhere else in the meantime(?). That's a long wait. I'm a little pissed. Can you tell?
