  1. Actually, I'm half serious about this.... sure, on the one hand, it might make us look desperate.... but then again.... WE ARE.... hehe.... so why not? Would get all kinds of media buzz about how serious we are about turning the corner, no?
  2. Dang... great idea. Heck, just figure out the Motel 6 where he's holding the meetings, and go ahead and fly there... wait in the lobby. Make that Hawks FA HQ for the weekend... hehe
  3. I'm inclined to think the uncle's answer might very well have been based on things his nephew had previously said, but indeed, this is evidence that his nephew took notice that things have changed.
  4. Been trying for years now to give him the benefit of a doubt, but it's become hard to imagine C-Viv having any knowledge of anything beyond what he and everyone else already knows from Twitter. If he does have any insider knowledge, I'd wager it comes from speaking with a former Hawk assistant with whom he still has some relationship. I just don't get the impression he's even now been able to tap into the back office conversations the way others have. All of which brings me back to Snyder, and back to Mack who I think most have been inclined to think would be the Jazz' #3. Mack knows the offense especially well, and now that he's had a taste of success as the #1 for a contending team, he's an attractive option to bring back, imo.
  5. GeezLouise.... he DID want out of HOU, didn't he. Dang. That's some serious haircut there.
  6. Thabo's an exceedingly good value. I would be very hesitant to move him unless it was the difference in getting Durant... and, then too, it makes sense that his relationship with Thabo would be one of the reasons Durant would take some interest.
  7. Hadn't seen those numbers on Dwight.... I was under the impression he is still thought to be ticketed for $20m+ or he never would have opted out of HOU.
  8. Can't retain Baze in that. Very unlikely you could get Deng, but the ~12m the trade would clear would be in the neighborhood of what some are projecting he'll get.
  9. In my opinion, Horf should essentially be told that he should consider himself an assistant GM, and name his price, knowing that whatever that price is, he, like Budcox and his teammates, will either be helped in the pursuit of a championship or, alternatively, he can make that exceedingly more problematic if he chooses to take all of the money and years on the table in a "maxed-max" contract. Just sign him as quickly as possible to gain certainty on that front, so that you can proceed with the rest of the FA decisions.
  10. I think he's truly on the market, but I think he probably goes into it with OKC as the prohibitive favorite based on how the season ended up. I'm one of those who think SAS has the next best shot at it, though. And, I see no reason he would go ahead and do a 5 year contract. That would be leaving money on the table for no good reason.
  11. If true that Baze is asking $16m-ish, and Deng's price is north of $12m, we can't get both w/o declining to pick up Scott's option plus at least one other move.
  12. I get it that you don't want us to re-sign Horford and/or Baze, but face facts.... this team philosophy is what it is. They value continuity and they value player development. It's a free world, you can voice frustration with that. But it's not without some logic.
  13. I know we haven't won anything yet. And, I don't drink. But I'm still a Bud man. I also think his players really appreciate the environment he has built--and how he has set boundaries in keeping private things private.
  14. Side by side.... they appear to have the same barber, no?
  15. Btw.... *whistle blows*.... Another misleading header. We are not yet "in".... we want in, evidently. There's a huge difference, of course. It's a long month, boys and girls.... just asking for some precision and accuracy, okay?
  16. Since we're using Bird rights money to sign Horf, it isn't a necessity that we let him or Sap go if Howard were signed.... To the point of the posts immediately above, I just question whether Dwight is considered a "big name" at this point in his career. I for one don't see him that way.
  17. (Sorry.... meant that in ref to @suiluap's comment.)
  18. (True, no one said they have to be accurate. But I do like mine to at least have some foundation for suspicion of accuracy.)
  19. Pretty sure someone else holds Akyol's rights now.
  20. Thanks for calling my attention to that.... I missed that it's a BR article. Guys, I love you all, but you really have to be a little more forthcoming, okay? This is the second time in two days that someone posts a blogger site as-if primary source reporting is being presented.
  21. Maybe one or both will be good enough. I just don't see history supporting the notion that the Budcox regime will approach their FA plans anticipating they will.
