  1. I am not a huge Wood's guy. He's the Kelly Oubre of bigs. He's very productive but at what cost.
  2. I don't believe in it like that. Especially for role players. For players playing 30+. It's more accurate. That said, Wood's been on the RPM top 25 for several years. No reason to think he doesn't add value in general. Nearly 5 WAR, he's your bargain bin Harrell.
  3. I could care less if Toppin or Hunter doesn't go to the combine because their focus is the pre-draft workouts if we have them which we won't and interviews. But I did want to see Wiseman and Edwards, especially Wiseman. But it's about your agent. CAA and Excel Sports is all about control in the process. While Klutch and Omar Wilkes in particular encourages using the combine.
  4. There are two MASSIVE mistakes you can make in this draft class. Comparing Bam Adebayo to Onyeka Okongwu and John Collins to Obi Toppin. They literally have two to three traits in common. Just that alone. Big O has six traits in common with McDyess. Five with Favors. Obi has six to seven traits in common with Al Horford, six with Kyle Kuzma and four with Amar'e. I understand the comparison to some degree but they are not the same. They really don't play alike. Adebayo isn't the only verstiale big man in today's NBA or past tense. We have had McDyess, Favors, and some others. It's because Adebayo is a star is why but he's not like him. There are no indicators. KB, stop lying, your boy JJJ just literally had one of the worse defense RPM in the NBA this year and you were saying he's going to be a top 10 defender in year 2 in the NBA. He's even below my boy Bagley. http://www.espn.com/nba/statistics/rpm/_/page/2/position/6

Trying to get promise information. I am having a hard time right now. I really want to know about Edwards, Toppin, and Cole Anthony.
  6. He was a good empty gym shooter in general. Once he started getting moving, his shooting percentage sharply decreased.
  7. They are more open than they are in the regular season as they play with LeBron a lot more in the playoffs. We seen this story when we played Cleveland. LeBron playing a lot of minutes changes how you defend the others.
  8. I've said this before to Andrew Kelly and others but Trae Young can be a better defender than Kevin Huerter even though Kevin is a superior team defender. His man defense is flat out awful and his lack of stamina makes it impossible for him to ever be a net neutral defender. I've been saying for a couple of year, Trae has excellent lateral quickness, wiry strong, has great BBIQ, and when he communicates is effective on defense but him more than others, he needs a great defensive cast around him because he does have natural limitations due to his lack of size. That said, you can build a team top 10 defense around Young and he can be an average defender in this league but his energy level has to match his energy level on offense. If this is the case, he needs to be in much better shape but he might need to be limited to 30-32 MPG like Coach Bud did with Giannis to get max effort. I know when the playoffs come, I know will hide Trae as best as we can since he's needed to play 38-40 MPG but like I said, Trae's person to watch is John Stockton. Similar wiry strong, with excellent hands, who has a similar frame and lateral quickness. He just needs to play with more energy on the defensive end. The same energy he has on offense. Atlanta needs to really have a strong 1-3 in the PG ranks. If you resign Teague, you still need a strong 3rd string PG. All of the PG's we need due to our system needs to be able to run a system or playmake at an high level or do both at a high level. We need to figure out how to maximize Trae Young but do it and still field a winner.
  9. Dedmon was more massive for us than Teague was. Dedmon was critical for us. Having him and Capela should solve 99.99% of our center issues last year.
  10. Jeff clearly was a massive upgrade for us as a backup PG: https://winsadded.com/wins-added-premium-users/teammate-net-impact/
  11. Jeff actually did a good job offensively during his time. It's defensively where he was worse than Trae. Obviously due to his style of play, he was far more productive on defense making his def RAPTOR more reasonable than it should be. He was a worse defender than Trae.
  12. They do an excellent job of exposing the gaps but these things can be fix by simply playing smart.
  13. I keep saying this but Miami biggest strength is they try to find your weaknesses and exploit it. They arent that good. They are your Woody era Hawks with a lot better roster balance and coaching. Boston is the better team on paper and talent wise. They just need to play like a smart team and play to win the game instead of playing to win MVP aka Brown and Tatum. Game 5 was exactly what I wanted from them. Just execute.
  14. This is the point he keeps overlooking. He keeps thinking fit is need. I've clearly stated fit, talent, and skill. When the hell is Shelden who should have been picked outside of the lottery considering the era is the best fit, talent and skills on the board?
  15. Wrong, Brandon Roy would have been the best pick via that style of play as he was by far the best player for our style, personnel of switching, and talent on the board. Why? I think you hear fit and think of need. I explained exactly what I mean by fit. LaMelo Ball is the best talent in this draft but Golden State will go with the best fit, talent, and skill for your style of play. Going with Shelden was a massive mistake from the offset. He didn't have NBA talent much less NBA skill. Thats like drafting Devin Vassell or Jarrett Culver in the top 8. You last paragraph explains exactly why Roy was the best fit. I almost broke my best friend at that time television because we drafted Shelden I was so livid and obviously proven correct. Roy was a combo guard who could play on and off the ball. Considering BK goals, he would have been the ideal PG in that system. It still angers me to this day. Even more than the CP3 pick because even though I disagree, I can understand how a team can pick Marvin over CP3 in 2005. But I can't understand how you can do Shelden over Roy in that era. Not at all. It was one of the worst draft decisions I've seen. As bad as Marvin over CP3 was, Williams over Roy was 10 times as bad considering that squad. I know Roy didn't want to come to Atlanta, hell no one did outside of Paul, I still would have taken him and made it work. We could have traded him later for someone like Steph Curry.
  16. You should ALWAYS draft for fit. That way you don't draft guys who don't fit like Josh Jackson for Phoenix. That said, you need to draft the best mix of FIT, talent, and skill for your style of play. What would appeal to OKC doesn't appeal to Atlanta. Bembry is not a fit at all. He's a leftover from the previous regime on a cheap contract. Being a better fit than Bembry is easy. Most of the top 30 is a better fit than Bembry. Potential is only potential when it works within your personnel, system, coaching, development route, and personality mesh.

  18. SAS values these two. LMA is the one they are looking to move.

Beat me to the punch. Nothing there. As far as what MIN is getting, KAT is all in my guy stated to me when I reached out to him this morning about it. If he showed signs that is not, expect them to go all in for another superstar like a James Harden. They are years away from having to truly entertain a KAT trade unless they are blown away.
  21. Yeah, we would need to pay our way up the draft board. 50 isn't going to cut it.
  22. He would have been the best overall fit of all the centers. Our wings fit everybody especially Cam and Hunter. Embiid is a poor system fit especially since be sucks at the PnR and setting screens but he would be a good fit with JC. Trae and him are decent fits. Capela is a perfect fit for Trae but rough fit with Collins. Drummond would have been the worse fit by far. Adams is the perfect fit for JC and an excellent fit for Trae. That's why he was the best target on the board because of FIT. That said, Embiid and Capela are better players and Drummond is more productive.
