  1. 26 points Started out slow. Made like 12 of his last 15
  2. As long as he doesn't pull a Jeff Teague "too cool for school" performance.
  3. They put this in a black and white photo, to create the illusion that he has a "silver" shoe that looks like this. Media manipulation is in full force now. Here are the Trae 3 Colorways https://www.thehoopsgeek.com/shoe-reviews/adidas-trae-young-3-colorways/
  4. Luka Garza was a better prospect than Edey, because Luka could shoot the 3 ball. But as with Edey, Garza is a complete liability on defense. Teams would put Edey in pick and roll situations and destroy that dude. On offense, Edey looks good, but he uses finesse more than brute strength around the rim. The kid from Duke is a much better all around prospect.
  5. I know that and you know that. So why do people get mad when he forces his offense, but don't make shots? Trae dished out 12 assists, but it wasn't enough because he didn't take enough shots or get to the line enough. Even if he shoots 6 - 12 FG, he only scores 18 points max, and we still lose by 15+ points.
  6. I say it's a combination of both. Ya'll take for granted how hard he has to play to force some of the offense he does. Trae is playing like how everyone on social media says he should play. Don't take bad shots. Move the ball. Don't force offense. Even if he shoots 50% tonight, the volume of shots is so low, that it wouldn't matter. We'd still be down by 10. No doubt on that. Horrible indeed, along with a few other players.
  7. 12 has his hands full with the rookie Miller. He's going to be real good in 2 years. By then, mabe LaMelo will be a more polished point guard.
  8. Trae with only 6 shots in the game. Playing within the offense and has 9 assists. Does he need to start forcing more of his own offense, instead of moving the ball?
  9. Hawks on All-Star vacation. Put Kobe in and see if he can provide a spark.
  10. 3 - 5 years my a**. No one gets 3 - 5 years to prove themselves. Quin doesn't have enough cred to be given 3 - 5 years to turn things around. Especially when we've kinda regressed since last season. Both Quin and Landry will be fired by Year 3, if the Hawks aren't any better than they are right now.
  11. I'm sorry, but retainig Bey continues a pattern that we have seen the past 4 years. Instead of looking for an upgrade, we become complacent with what we have and feel that they are vital to the team. NO! Do not fall for the trap. This is the same rationale we used to re-sign Collins, Hunter, Capela, and 12. Bey should be signed and traded for a better player, or have his open roster spot be used to add size/athleticisn/strength to this team.
  12. Bey kills it alongside Bogi + OO ... with Trae as the PG. Trae's ability to find 3 point shooters for great shots is only matched by Haliburton. As a starter though, he struggles as the main sniper in the corner. And he really struggles alongside Capela.
  13. I love when people expose me to new websites. I can see the same thing on NBA.com box score video. But I like this site too. You can get to the videos and play types you want to see much quicker.
  14. The only thing Murray does better than Trae as the PG, is get the ball out of his hands to keep it moving. He goes ISO a lot more than Trae. He's definitely not a better playmaker than Trae. Murray excels in transition as a PG. Halfcourt offense is not his game, which is part of the reason why the team struggles when he's running the point. If he's not getting his own shot, he's normally not making a lot of plays for other people The ball does stick in Trae's hands a lot, but it also plays to his strengths as a playmaker by getting people wide open shots. Trae has arguably made Murray's life easier as a scorer, because the top defender on the team is focused on stopping Trae, while Murray gets to go one on one against a lesser defender, with no double teams coming at him. If teams focused on stopping Murray, he'd have to make major adjustments to his current game. Murray is the prototype combo guard. A guy who loves to score the basketball, but can also make the correct pass. He and Trae can definitely co-exist together. They just need better frontcourt players to play with, and they both need to get tougher on the defensive side of the basketball. I wish Isiah Thomas and Joe Dumars would both sit down with Trae and DJ, and show them clips of how they used to co-exist with one another on the court. This is the obvious blueprint for them to be successful with each other. The problem though . . . is that our current coach does NOT place a higher emphasis on defense than he does offense. He does NOT play big front lines, if he doesn't have to. He would rather play small ball and try to shoot you out the gym. And we have a front office that believe the same thing. Otherwise, they would've added more bigs and athletic players to this lineup, instead of shooters. The way to get better on defense, is to get bigger and more athletic on the front line. This will somewhat protect Trae and DJ from their defensive shortcomings, while also making the team better. With Schlenk, we were trying to copy the Golden St model. With DJ on the team with Trae, we should be trying to copy the Detroit Bad Boys model, with a modern day twist.
  15. This is yet another instance where I should've just kept reading the thread, instead of immediately responding. Would've saved me a lengthy post. 100% agree with all of your points here. Who was 2nd in fan voting. And for 4 decades, that's how all-stars were named.
  16. It's not unbelievable. One of those head coaches is completely out of the league ( McMillan ), and has NEVER been hired as a new head coach he wasn't already on as an assistant. The other one of those head coaches isn't even the lead assistant coach on his new team ( Pierce ) The best player Trae has ever played with is Dejounte Murray The best front court player he's ever played with is John Collins ( whose role declined once we acquired Capela ) No other all-star caliber players are on the Hawks right now, with Murray being a fringe all-star at best this season. The best veteran player that Trae has ever played with, was either Gallo or Lou Williams ( both bench players ) We have an owner that refuses to spend the type of money to even build a playoff level team, let alone a championship contender ( Hawks currently have a bottom 10 payroll in the league ) Hawks have failed to even get back rotation level players from the Collins and Huerter trades Hawks have/had a MLE and a 25 mill TPE that they did not use Hawks only had 5 players on the team 6 - 8 or above, and go into tonight's game with 1 center. This management / ownership group has done little to nothing to build a winner around Trae, or anyone else on this team. We have serious defensive issues with our guards and wings staying in front of people, and our bigs securing rebounds. And we've addressed NONE of those issues. We don't have any quality vet players on this team in the rotation. Our vet leadership consist of Wesley Matthews and Patty Mills. Unless you want to count Bogi, which I guess you can, since he is 31 now. We have a coaching staff that has done a PISS POOR job at developing our kids. 12 is decent, but below expectations. He's at least a serviceable starter Reddish was a bust JJ's development was stunted big time by Nate, with this season really being JJ's 1st real complete season on the NBA level AJ, who looked to be promising, is going through something traumatic that has him on ( Bust watch ) Bufkin, who is playing well in College Part, has not been a part of the main roster Gueye is hurt ( but is more of a hopeful prospect based off of his play in Summer League ) To be honest, who KNOWS where the hell we would be without Trae. Maybe without Trae, we land Wemby, only because we'd be so bad. So NO . . . the 6 foot / 6-1 All-Star PG who is #1 in total team assists in franchise history Will be #6 in points in franchise history at the end of this season ( passing Josh Smith and Joe Johnson ) #1 in 3 point makes in franchise history ( probably after tonight, passing Mookie Blaylock ) The only Atlanta Hawk star player who has won a Conference Finals game A 3x All-Star that should've been a 5x All-Star . . . is NOT the main reason why this team can't get over the hump and be a consistent playoff level team.
  17. Bruno going for 20 pts - 15 rebs vs Charlotte.
  18. The big problem with your assessment about Trae and foul calls, is that we KNOW that he is getting fouled on at least 50% of those calls. And the dude literally has to be hit while in the air, to get a continuation call. He had a call in which he had obviously picked up his dribble, and was going into his second step, before he was fouled before shooting. Refs gave him the foul, but called it on the floor. One thing is true about the NBA. If you say nothing about the refs, the refs will screw you over. For years, we said nothing as a team, as we've been on the short end of the stick of bad call after bad call, sometimes no calls. So sucking it up and playing through it, is not the answer either.
  19. Defensive video box scores aren't out yet, but just by watching the shots of the Bulls, I think Bogi or Trae gave up the most points, followed by JJ and DJ. DJ was especially horrible in the 4th quarter. Trae could do nothing with Ayo in the 2nd quarter. And people took turns going at Bogi throughout the game.
  20. Murray MUST work on his man defense in the offseason. That wasn't even close to even putting up any resistance to White.
  21. And we can't secure a defensive rebound on the biggest stop of the game.
  22. Hawks on pace to reach their magic number of 123. But they still have to get stops. Big Time Bogi.
