  1. Man, i dug into this and found out the Hawks have Early Bird exceptions on both of them. They CAN go over the cap to sign both of them, but in a limited capacity. The problem is the max that they could offer DMC under the Early Bird exception would not be enough. No wonder teams are coming after him hard. Looks like its gonna be Milsap signing and DMC leaving in free agency......
  2. I dont know how any of that works. I heard that the Hawks DO own bird rights to Milsap though.
  3. Explain why the agreement would prevent that.
  4. Just pay the luxury tax and pay DMC, Milsap and Aldridge..............keep everybody..........The Heat did it. Cleveland is doing it, just pay everybody and go get that trophy.......
  5. Been watching enough basketball to know that if the Hawks felt he was in their long term plans, they would be bringing him over here for the upcoming season. They dont REALLY want long term projects at this point, and thats what Tavares is. Thats why they shipped Adreian Payne out of there. What was the name of that other kid that needed to gain weight that was drafted in the first round, only to ship him right out of here, cant remember his name. The Hawks want basketball high I.Q. guys that they can teach fast.
  6. Please do...........so that the Hawks are pressured into getting Aldridge.........
  7. I wouldnt care. Dude look too goofy and uncoordinated to play NBA ball........
  8. I hope so................SHOULD give EXTRA incentive for the Hawks to make a play for Aldridge............ like i say SHOULD, you never know with Bud.........
  9. I got a better idea for the Hawks..............JUST DONT DRAFT ANYBODY...............
  10. No problem with him. Only thing is they couldve got him for less, but thats water under the bridge. Time to get a rebounder now......
  11. What i expect to see at this time next year.........................
  12. I will say this: any player dumb enough NOT to take his opportunity and shoot the ball while playing with carMElo is dumb..........lmao Better take your shot while you can..........lmao
  13. Ok, good post. Casinos will be on the ballot next year and a preliminary vote is in favor of it. The lack of revenue at the state level has them looking to create revenue thru casinos, with money from it funding the Hope scholarships. A few years from now, you gonna have certain cities kicking themselves from not having the vision to get on board a movement that IS gonna happen. Casinos WILL come to Georgia, and i think horse racing is right behind it. Lastly, whats this $1.00 annual lease that ballooned to $20 million a year that you are talking about?? http://www.ajc.com/news/news/state-regional-govt-politics/exclusive-bills-would-legalize-casino-resorts-in-g/nkfSW/ Legislation that would open the door to up to six casino resorts in Georgia will be introduced in the state House on Thursday. The measures, both by Economic Development Committee Chairman Ron Stephens, R-Savannah, would generate $250 million a year to support the HOPE scholarship, according to a briefing paper obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The bill, and its required proposed constitutional amendment, are not expected to pass this year but, instead, will begin a conversation that supporters hope leads to the amendment being on the statewide ballot in November 2016.
  14. As a coach,MAYBE, as a General Manager, no. Let me say this again, in ALL team sports, there is a reason that some great coaches are better suited to be x and o assistant coaches, vs making the decisions on the floor. I trust Bud's knowledge of the game and his system, but i dont trust his rotations ( personnel decisions), and he definitely has shown me in a limited window, they he may not be cut out to make the General Manager decisions. Dominique Wilkins is my all time favorite player in any sport, but, not being there, i dont agree with his accessment that it was Bud that built the Hawks and not Ferry. Wilkins SAID that during his trophy presentation. I think Bud is getting too much credit for what Ferry did, and to top it off, he is making decisions that i dont think Ferry would have: 1. trading payne. 2. standing pat at the trade deadline and not addressing the front court. 3. pero Antić as your main big off the bench. Ferry wouldve addressed that. 4. giving up a number 1 for Hardaway when everybody in NBA circles know they couldve gotten him for less.
  15. Not only did the Doraville site have the space, athestically, it wouldve looked sweet being able to see the new stadium sit right there as you past by it on 285. The location was also perfect for people to get to the stadium. The giant footprint wouldve also allowed the Falcons to do what the Braves are doing, build up AROUND the stadium. As bright as Arthur Blank is suppose to be, why couldnt he see what the Braves did, that building hotels, restaurants, etc. AROUND the stadium, making it that complete experience he always talking about, a reality. Maybe he only looking out for HIMSELF, and thats why he had no vision of building around the new stadium. Another thing that pissed me off with Doraville is them blocking that fella a few years ago who wanted to build a Casino at the General Motors site. Atlanta could be the next Vegas, but in a good way. Professional sports, casinos, all within walking distance of each other. Dont get any better than that.Casinos are coming to Georgia, and building one up within walking distance of the stadium wouldve been sweet.
  16. I dont know. Is there ANYWHERE in Atlantic Station they can build or near it??
  17. The first overall pick in ANY draft can be a bust................so not keeping the 15th pick because it may be a bust pick is not gonna get it done........
  18. Well, excuse the fans for SEEING the Hawks need rebounding like a dehydrated man needing water. Excuse the fans for seeing the Hawks werent the same team after the allstar break. Execuse the fans for knowing DANNY FERRY built the Hawks, not Coach Bud, and thus, are questioning Bud's managerial abilities.........
  19. I dont think Bud is the man for the job on the personnel side. I understand WHY they wanted Hardaway ( insurance for Korver), but what they paid for Hardaway wasnt the way to go. I said last week that the ONE thing i questioned about Bud is his management. Now we know that Wes is a part of the decisions also, but its ultimately Bud telling Wes what he is gonna do on the personnel front. Im convinced already that Bud isnt the man for the job on the personnel side. Here is the short list of reasons why: 1. Pero Antić.............. 2. Standing pat at the trade deadline when everybody and their mistress knew the Hawks needed rebounding help. 3. Trading Adreian Payne for draft picks they not gonna use anyway. 4. Going on record ADMITTING he dont like young players. Dennis has been the exception. 5. Disregarding his first round pick, and using it for a player ( Hardaway), that over rated Phil Jackson wouldve taken lower picks for. 6. Putting all his chips into free agency to address his front court, when he couldve TRIED to address it with that first round draft pick. 7. I understand the WIN NOW decision making, thus the not wanting to develop young players, but what makes Bud think the Hawks, as currently constituted, gonna take a step up past Cleveland? They were lucky to get past Brooklyn and Washington in the playoffs. Folks, thats a LOT of stuff in a short period of time, and all of its proven and not just what i think he has done. If he doesnt correct this by getting a Aldridge type player in free agency, he has proven he needs to stick to the sidelines and the Hawks hire a general manager for personnel decisions.........
  20. Hardaway is Korver insurance. Coach Bud knows what he is doing. You combine the fact that Korver slowed down after the allstar break, AND, had that ankle surgery, this is a good move on the Hawks part. They wasnt gonna play a rookie anyway. Once they get a big in free agency, it will all fall into place.........
  21. Calm down, Calm down, lol. I like the move. Bud, again, with the exception of Dennis, doesnt like young unproven players. They needed insurance for Korver, and got it. Now, they need to get Aldridge or somebody similar for that front line.........
  22. They celebrated when the knicks signed MElo also.........lmao
  23. I agree. After that second half meltdown that Korver displayed, Coach Bud is making sure the Hawks have a backup plan and i wouldnt be shocked to see Korver coming off the bench as the spot up sixth man......
