  1. Wait? What? Folks been complaining about non shot creating Korver holding the Hawks back, which he did , now complaining about a possible replacement who CAN create his own shot. In fact, if the Hawks had Ellis during this last playoff run, they wouldve won at LEAST two games against the Cavaliers and might have taken them out. He wouldve been the perfect antidote to J.R. Smith during that series. How many of those half court possessions the Hawks have had where they couldnt create a shot because their jumpers werent falling. Had Ellis been there............... Finally, Bud has a system and culture in Atlanta where i KNOW he would transfer Ellis into a more complete player ( play defense). If he can be had a reasonable price, get him...........
  2. Im more of a fan of tradition. You dont see teams with championship traditions like the Celtics, Lakers, etc. constantly changing their uniforms. The St. Louis Hawks traditional red uniform is the best look:
  3. Pero Antić, Horford, Dennis and the 15th...................
  4. Atlanta ranked 28th out of 30 teams this past season in rebounding, but they dont have rebounding issues.................. The Hawks gave Brook Lopez new life in the playoffs. Made Gortat look like a beast...........Mosgov looked like the best center in the game against the Hawks front line, and Tristan Thompson was the seconding coming of Dennis Rodman...........lmao
  5. Can ANY of them grab 10 rebounds a game????????
  6. They could always bring these back.....................................
  7. Which is why i said IF Ferry comes back into the NBA, it will be with the Spurs. Like ive already said, the Deng situation was just a MEANS for Gearon to get rid of a General Manager that EVERYBODY in the Hawks front office hated. I know you saw the ESPN reports that said the WHOLE NBA fraternity cant stand Ferry. The Deng situation was just icing on the cake.......
  8. Like i said, its not like Horford is holding down the paint. Mosgove and Thompson proved that. My whole thing is, if you can have Pero Antić on your roster, why not draft somebody with potential. Next year is gonna be tougher for the Hawks. Whatever they do, a Horford/Millsap front line isnt gonna cut it in the playoffs. They NOT getting Deandre Jordan. They NOT getting Gasol. They NOT gonna figure out a way to get Dwight Howard.................so.........At this point, a washed up Roy HIbbert is a good option........lmao
  9. No different than Horford and Milsap getting their lunch handed to them. The angle im looking at is the fact that its obvious to me, that Bud isnt gonna get a conventional center. This means he wants to play small ball and out execute teams. If he is gonna do that, his SCORERS have to be better than they are. I agree with you, dont get me wrong, but i dont think Bud cares. He couldnt have, because anybody could see the Hawks weakness on the boards. So, again, if he is playing that way, draft Kaminsky, and if Kaminsky is as weak as people say, let him play the 4 and keep Horford at 5. Either way, i rather see Kaminsky popping out for those 3 point shots, instead of Pero. Its not like Pero played defense either.
  10. Exactly, and we got people here who think he is a stretch at 15. Kaminsky is THE perfect fit for the Hawks system. In the system they run, in their Hammer Sets, the 4 or 5 doesnt set the weakside screen, he pops OUT for the 3 pointer. In San Antonio's Hammer, the 4 or 5 sets the weakside pick and nothing else. Thats the brilliance of Coach Bud, he took the San Antonio sets and gave them even MORE variations. The problem with the Hawks is the big that pops out, wasnt consistent enough ( Pero, later Scott, etc.) Kaminsky would THRIVE in this system. He doesnt HAVE to be a big bruisher. You slide Kaminsky into the 5 slot and move Horford over to the 4 where he isnt under soo much pressure to be a scorer and let him work on the boards. Here is a example of that set in action:
  11. All these tears for Ferry, when Ferry about to pocket multimillions, THEN, go get a front office job somewhere else. He will most likely go back to the Spurs, where they will CREATE a title for him, " assistant president of basketball operations " or something along those lines, and get yet another payday........
  12. Sap is still a important piece, but i dont think the Hawks will HAVE to break the bank to keep either he or Carroll. I just have a feeling on that. Sap and Carroll know the Spurs/Hawks system is what put them over the top. What i would like to see, and ive said it over and over, is for the Hawks to slide Horford over to 4, slide Sap down to 3 and Carroll over to 2 guard. Sap plays undersized ANYWAY at the 4, so moving him over to small forward is no big deal. In fact, it will allow him to dominate other small forwards. Pairing him with Horford in the front court produces nothing for the Hawks on the boards or rim protecting. Get a true center while Horford and Sap are still relatively young.
  13. Heard that the grizzlies wanna sign and trade Gasol STRAIGHT UP for Pero Antić because they said " he can spread the floor and do all the important things that dont show up in the boxscore".............lmao
  14. Can they trade Pero for some sweet tea and biscuits??
  15. Like i said in another thread. The COMBINATION of Bud's system ( San Antonio) and Wes pretty much knowing how Ferry operates, makes Ferry expendable.
  16. There were a couple games where Moose started at the 5 and they let Horford play his natural 4 position. It was back when Sap was out with the injury. THAT was a good Hawks lineup. It showed me a couple things: first, the Hawks could use Moose as a starting five, and bring the rebounding/ shot blocking off the bench in key situations. Second, it showed that, yes, Horford would DOMINATE from the 4 position.
  17. Whats really troubling about the " Pero can spread the floor" argument, is the fact that MOST NBA bigs CAN shoot from outside now. He does NOTHING thats so special to justify the playing time he gets. The game isnt the same way anymore as far as pure, post center play. Only HIbbert and Howard come to mind quickly as throw back centers. The ONE thing that will NEVER change is the fact you HAVE to rebound. Somebody HAS to rebound. Thats my main problem with Pero. Ive seen rebounds come RIGHT AT HIM, he has POSITION in the post, and a opponent takes it away from him because he fumbles the ball and cant jump more than two inches off the ground. Dude is a waste and the fact he is still on this roster is the only thing that is giving me pause about Bud's front office abilities.......Old man Elton Brand is still a better player than Pero......... The Hawks had or have THESE athletes, but somehow, feel Antić is better....................
  18. Im gonna say this again. This is about CHIPS.........This isnt about "just getting it done." Cleveland SHOWED that you HAVE to have a monster on the boards. Mosgov and Thompson just destroyed the Hawks front line. Heck, New Orleans, had they been in the Eastern Conference, wouldve sent the Hawks packing in the first round because they couldnt stop Anthony Davis during the regular season. Im soo critical of Pero because the Hawks, in my opinion, were ONE REAL big away from a championship. Pero had THAT spot. Thats why im so critical of him. I dont want no just getting by,player, we need a REAL difference maker. Im upset because as smart as Bud/Ferry, Wes, the ball boy, whoever, makes the decisions, they should have saw how close the Hawks were and made a move to get a rebounder/ rim protector. The Hawks been in Atlanta since 1970, so excuse me if im a little inpatient with that franchise. Always rebuilding, starting over, all that, when the chip was THERE for the taking this year. It was THERE. They couldve beat Golden State because one thing a basketball team hates, is to defend another team that plays exactly like them. Next year, the East is gonna be tougher and they have had a year of film under their belt to dissect what the Hawks are all about............Trotting scrubs out there again under the guise of " spreading the floor, nuances, analytics" and all that, isnt gonna cut it.......
  19. Im still trying to figure out WHY Payne was suppose to be a bust. Dude showed out up in Minnesota. He didnt get any playing time with the Hawks to show he was a bust. Im not buying the propaganda. Pero brings NOTHING, so keeping Payne wouldnt have been a big deal... IN fact, Payne can teach Pero how to: REBOUND:
  20. What? Wait,?, somebody ACTUALLY said that Nique was basically nothing on the Hawks landscape?????????? lmao
