  1. Thank you Jaywalker, for showing Mr. know it all Kings fan the truth.
  2. Great point ARR. I couldnt have said it better nor I probably would of ever thought of that. The question that we should ask Diesel is this, Do you rather have a JT avg 18ppg, 7.0 apg, 2.0 spg & 3.5 rpg or Do you rather have a Dan Dickau (which I'm speculating that these will be his avgs as a starter) 12.5 ppg, 7.0 apg, 3.0 rpg & 1.2 spg.....and I still think these numbers will be like his best seasons in the league. Diesel you say Dickau is a "natural PG" and IMO and others opinion he really is a shoot first PG. But one thing for sure is that JT is a "natural leader" and Dickau isn't.
  3. Yes I wouldnt mind seeing Shawn Kemp in Atlanta, BUT what we need is a physical specimen that is 6'11 + and Kemp isnt that type of player. I saw Diesel mention Pat Ewing, and it would be nice getting about 10-15 mpg from Ewing, he can still score and rebound and he can still do some intimidation inside. Another guy that will be intriguing is Chris Dudley, he cant shoot free throws, but he can bang real good and run the floor very well, I still remember that series with the Knicks when we got swept, he was awesome. Another guy is Popeye Jones, he is a banger and a very hard worker and how about Greg Foster and Dean Garrett. All these 4 guys will come to us very cheap and I'm sure when they have a good look on our team they will be very intrigued to play here. Opinions?
  4. He couldnt of put it better than that. I agree with every bit of info in that post my man. Just some examples Diesel and Dimes4life.....Scoonie, B. Hurley, Belcher, Ed Cota (tremendous court vision), Omar Cook, Erick Barkley, Matten Cleaves, Khalid El-Amin, Antonio Daniels, Tony Delk, Bryce Drew......and yes I will name them all just to prove my point, just like you guys TRY to prove your points.....let me go on......Howard Eisley, Luciosu Harris, Brevin Knight, Jacque Vaughn, and so many many more Point guards that are out of the NBA that I didnt mention. My friends the toughest position to transform from college to the NBA is by far the PG position. Eeveryone up here failed to do so and they were very highly scouted and had very high expectations. Most of these PG's came out of top programs in the country and if there was a College Hall of Fame for Players, then all of them will most likely be there. My question is what makes you think that Dickau has it over any of these guys. What has he proved that these guys just as well proved and better in college than Dan did. Most of these guys were lottery picks and Dickau was 28, last in 1st round. Why wasn't he picked higher? Why did the kings traded him and not Bobby Jackson if according to Diesel and Dimes4life he will be a superstar. Sorry but both of you are wrong because Dickau didnt show anything special in the summer league games until he does then he will earn some respect from us, but the truth of the matter is that he hasnt played 1 minute in this league.
  5. Sorry dimes4life, but your organization sucks then.......The kings GM, Coach everyone in the front office, Am I right? I'll tell you how I know that the Kings organization sucks so much.. Since you are always riding on Dickau's you know what then WHY THE HELL DID THE KINGS TRADED HIM, because if according to you Dickau will and should be starting at the point over JT, then Bibby is $hit compare to Dickau because IMO I will take JT over Bibby anyday. Thank you very much and go to your damn Kings messageboard and ride your little boytoy Dan there. Oh wait I forgot you guys have no mssageboard, how sad, sorry.
  6. I agree very much, Thank you Kudzu, Dolfan and Chillz, you guys have really made this site one of the best messageboards in the net. Just awesome. Thanks again
  7. If you are expecting JT to be more like Kidd and Payton, then you really have issues my brother. JT will be good, actually very good but no way in hell would he be like Kidd or Payton this season, although he will have some allstar considerations. But dont expect JT to play like J. Kidd or Payton because you will be very dissapointed.
  8. is what the Hawks did last year when they signed E-mail and JV as the starting PG's.....thats urgency, they went and tried to get the best PG's out there that were available. They went into the season with the mindset of JT being the starting SG. Then E-mail gets hurt, they try the mini-me backcourt, totally doesnt work out.......so they just go ahead and try JT at the point, and whalaaaa......magic happens........JT flourishes as the Hawks starting PG in the last 50 games of the season. So they went into the draft liking Dixon and Dickau as BU's PG's. Dixon gets chosen and they try to pickup Dickay from the 18th pick forward. If Babs was so urgent on PG again, especially after he made guarantee's of making the playoffs he would of just resigned JV or went after a bigger PG in the league, a proven PG. But he knew and so does Lon that JT is the man now at that position and they pickup a steal in Dickau, not with superstar talent but can turn out to be a darn good backup. So look at the real picture Diesel and not just what you assume. _______________________________________________ I wouldn't put it past Babcock to trade JT/Hendu/CC for Spreewell. He has always loved Spree. NY needs a PG? NY has always liked Hendu. Just a look into the mind of Babcock. _________________________________________________ What kind of silly deal is this? So little that you know Diesel do you read any articles, it even in the Hawksquawk archives that Babs will NEVER want Spreewell in his team. He stated that.
  9. and for many many years to come, so can you please drop the subject already Diesel.
  10. Hey Diesel is Dickau your boy toy or something. Thats all you talk about and you are always saying that you want JT to do good and that you really like JT. Well by the look of things it sure doesnt look like it. JT will prove everyone wrong this year, WHY? he is not a failure and more than that he has too much heart and pride. No rookie will come in here and take his job, he knows this is his team now and he is not about to let it go just like that. Sorry Diesel nice try to make us believe that Dan is the man.
  11. _________________________________________________ Step 2: Give Travis Best a little love. If the Heat could pull off step one, they'd have a little extra room to make a decent multi-year offer to Travis Best. The team is in dire need of a point guard, and giving Strickland a multi-year contract makes little sense. Given the market, Best isn't going to get big bucks anywhere, and a three-year, $7 million contract won't stop them from making a max offer to a free agent next summer. If that free agent happens to be Jason Kidd, no worries. Best is just as serviceable as a backup. _________________________________________________ Whats the deal with Chad and Travis, is Chad bed buddy Travis or something........Geez the guy mentions Travis like if he was the god of all PG's. Get off him already Chad.
  12. Same old Diesel, busting on JT. Diesel I hope you ain't one of those coming back and start saying that JT is the man because according to you every starting PG in this league can run the team better than JT. Admittingly JT did have a hard time transforming from the college game to the pro game, it is a game change, but you know what.......the kid has heart and I'll take that over anything else in this league, but not only heart.......JT has mad game, he can take over a game anyday, any night.....he is that good. But JT wont be needed to do that anymore, now he can concentrate in being a pure PG, and I guarantee this JT will be considered one of the league's best PG's before this season is over. He will carry the team on his shoulders and take them to the promise land, because I have no doubt in MY MIND THAT WE CAN BE THE EAST CHAMPS. I still remember this statement by JT like if it was yesterday. Most of you would too. In the 2000 season, his 2nd year in the league, the Hawks had a nationalized TV game on TNT vs the Kings, he absolutely lit them up for 38 points. After the game he was interviewed by Craig Sager and Sager particularly ask him this question "JT, are you a PG or a SG" JT's response "I'm a basketball player". When JT made that statement that showed me right there on that spot what kind of guy he is. And if I were to take a championship team to the finals with the decision of taking JT or Bibby, I'll take JT hands down. ANYTIME. So please Diesel stop busting JT's a**, because he has done absolutely everything right for our Hawks, and dont come back in this messageboard praising JT when he finally starts at point and looks like a true allstar.
  13. If he didn't like my email, oh well so be it. But I have to agree with Chillz, one thing Babs is not, he is not 2 faced. They will not say JT is our future PG and then turn around and tell someone like Chad Ford that they are shopping him and that they aren't with him at the point. First off Babs knows that Chad does articles and chats for ESPN, he knows that anything he tells Chad, Chad will blurr it out, Why? because he is a so called "Insider". You actually think Babs will tell Chad all these things about JT? NOT.......he will be the last person to say anything like that, but then again Babs has never been that way. Babs normally, actually will make it publicly if something is gonna go down, he has done that everytime. One thing for sure is that JT wont be traded and is not being shopped. The only insider that normally knows the truth is Peter Vecsey, he has called shots and rumors and it has happen. I remember 3 years ago when that rumor of Steve Smith being traded started. It was Pete Vecsey that noted that one, and I said no way the Hawks wont trade Steve Smith, and bam couple of days later Smitty is gone. When the Hawks lost against the Knicks in the 2nd round of the playoffs that same year. Babs stated that the Hawks are too old and need a change, what happens.....Mookie and Smitty gone........for JT, JJ, Rider. Babs is doing a damn good job now in Atlanta guys, we have to admit that, I mean he has made some bad calls in the past. But look now, he has gotten us two 20 point scorers in the last 2 summers......AWESOME. Babs is not lying and he is not 2-faced like Chad Ford makes it seem. Plus do you actually think he will blurr all this information about JT to Ford? I dont think so, as a matter of fact, NEVER.
  14. Can someone please tell me what does that top article under Hawks news has to do with our Hawks? or was it posted their by mistake. I'm assuming it was posted their by mistake, hehe.
  15. Very good post, well written, the only thing I cant see the article. This is actually the first time I hear about Stotts. You think you can post the artcle here on hawksquawk? Thanks for the info
  16. Yes he did say this first: "The Hawks are upgraded" but then he says this, I mean this guy is totally confused on what he is saying. Chad Ford: (2:00 PM ET ) Here's my top 10 right now. Of course, by the time free agency shakes out, there will be changes. 1. Kings 2. Lakers 3. Mavs 4. Nets 5. Spurs 6. Pistons 7. Hornets 8. Blazers 9. Bucks 10. Clippers . . . let the stone throwing begin. According to this Nets, Pistons, Hornets, Bucks in that order are the best in the East. Then he says this: Chad Ford: (1:39 PM ET ) I really love the Pacers. They're still very young, but I think the playoff experience was good for them. They'll go as far as second year point guard Jamaal Tinsley can take them. The Pacers tell me he's been working out all summer and is in the best shape of his life. If he continues to improve, they'll be very, very tough -- top 5 in the East. Basically what he is saying is that the East stack up like this, at least top 5: Nets Pistons Hornets Bucks Pacers So Hopefully since we have upgraded and so have the Celtics with the addition of Baker. Are both the Hawks and Celts 6 & 7. I dont think so, IMO both these teams are better right now than any of those above team for the exception of the Nets, everyone agrees? Sometimes he really makes no sense on what he is talking about, and I think he just says what ever comes to mind. Sometimes he praises the Hawks and sometimes he puts them down. Make up your mind Chad?
  17. As of right now I like how the team is setup. We have a great mix of young and veteran players, it probably goes half an half. I was looking at the option that maybe E-mail maybe starting, but then again I analyze it a bit, and I aint no analyst or anything, but I used some common sense. If we start JT and Email in the back court, is basically doing the same thing as last year. We will find ourselves again watching E-mail setting up plays for JT, we dont want that guys. If that happens then JT will be labeled again a SG and a failure at point. We actually want JT as our official starting PG, so he can prove everyone wrong that he is an allstar PG in this league. More and more as I think about that backcourt I hate it, we need to lok at our future and E-mail is not in our future plans, not even close, in the other hadn DJ is and DJ is ready to start. DJ has a long frame with some muscle and weight added and he can disrupt any 2 guard's shots in this league with his wing span, he can block shots, run the floor, and play great D. DJ is ready to be the starting 2 guard in this league and if we have E-mail starting that will only devastate DJ's confidence. Analyzing our lineup, we probably have the best lineup in the East and one of the top starting lineups in the league, no BS. I dont like sounding bias, but on paper we have a top notch and championship caliber starting 5.
  18. Yes and I wont be surprised if Email is packaged in a deal that includes Dion, Hendu, & Crawford. This may also create some roster space. I'm not sure how serious they really are to sign Willis or maybe even Haslem, but I know they are very serious about Ira. With the signing of Ira I believe that Dion, Email or Crawford are available or maybe all 3 of them in maybe getting some draft picks or maybe a big man. They will not be another blockbuster trade, but I feel that if we sign Ira, that means that maybe Dion and Crawford will be available in a small package deal.
  19. JTFan31

    SG anyone?

Thats exactly why I would like a player like Doug Christie on our team. Dion for Christie. Christie is 6-7, plays great defense, doesnt need shots and can handle the rock. Christie is exactly what we need, but on the other hand I think DJ can handle the starting 2 well, he can shoot the 3 ball, does not demand the ball and plays great defense.

    Jay Walker

Were you there in press conference yesterday? and if you were which Hawk Players were there. I heard the conference and I noticed that he really praised Hendu and Theo alot. I think if Theo stays healthy, the guys will really have fun this year especially when they start winning. Since Hendu and Big Dog been rivals ever since kids, maybe Big Dog will bring out Hendu out of the shadow and make him play harder, we all know what Hendu brings to the table when he is healthy and interested playing.
  21. Is that really the depth chart? Thats sad for them to actually post something like that, very sad. Who the heck hired these guys as analysts.
  22. I'm at work and we dont have speakers installed in our computers. Can someone give me a briefing of the interview, please.
  23. JTFan31

    SG anyone?

As much as I love Eddie Jones game, Diesel, he definitely is not what we would need now, not because of his defense but his offense. He will demand the ball also and it may cause distraction now, we would need too many balls to go around. But tell you this, I think someone will come to us for cheaper and might even be more available these days. Doug Christie, can shoot the 3, and defend......great size and knows how to play Kobe. A 1 for 1 swap.....Dion For Doug. I would love that trade, wouldn't you. Christie would be a great addition and he wouldnt demand the ball, he can concentrate all on D and he can just do the same things he is doing now is Sac Town.
  24. I greatly appreciate it that you took your time for this. We really needed to respond to Ford, because in reality he did basically put our team down and especially the heart and soul of this team Jason Terry. I'm so glad we took the time to write to him and he can see we are dedicated fans that really care about our Hawks. We stand behind our team 100% of the way. Thanks Dolfan and Graymule for your posts. I sure hope he responds back, but I doubt he will, he will notice how wrong he was by saying to trade JT.
