  1. I agree not enough improvement. Last night watching the Portland vs Warriors game both sides had more than one go to player and they could hit 3s in a flury. The Hawks have zero players that can do that. Keeping both point guards while it would be nice doesn't achieve and help the team with other weaknesses. Maybe if you could sign Beal, bring Hump back and add Gordat plus keep Horf would really help. Don't think it is possible but need at least 2 significant players.
  2. Chicago isn't dealing Butler their best player. Beal or Affalo if your talking free agents. Beal gets injured alot but I would gamble. He'll cost alot however maybe the Hawks could do what the Cavs did when Lebron waiting for the Cavs to sign all the big players and he signed last.
  3. Same sh%%t different year what's new.
  4. Reshuffling the players won't work. The Hawks need more talent simple as that. Also resign Humphries should be a must.
  5. Right now the shooting guard needed isn't on the team. I' would make a trade or possibily go after Beal.

    Schröder.

How about trading both Teague and Schröder and signing Conley. No way it happens but I like the way Conley plays the game.
  7. Guess Hawks need to scout the rosters and find which superstar might want to leave or a team willing to deal him for the right pieces. While Sap had a good day he'll probably be gone after next year so I wonder if you packaged him with Schröder or Teague to get someone. Who that someone is who knows not many superstars out there other that don't play for the big 3-4 teams. No way your getting Anthony Davis they just signed him. I think the Hawks may hav to get younger and focus on the draft with a deal to move up and get a prospect with potential to be a star for now.
  8. Well if you trade for one superstar unless your a terrible city you have the advantage to resigning the would be free agent in you can go beyond the max to resign your own player. Cleveland did that with Lebron since he waiting for the Cavs I believe to resign Love then Bron signed. It's a mood point now since don't know any superstars that want to play for the Hawks or are available. Maybe in a few years the Hawks could make a run at the Brow since he might get tired of losing with New Orleans.
  9. I watched the after game show on TNT with Barkley,Smith and O'Neal. Kenny Smith says in the past the Hawks have had chances to get a superstar who might be disgruntled elswehere but the Hawks never pursued it because the team was playing well in the season. O'Neal said the Hawks won't compete for a championship unless they get a superstar. Barkley and the rest mentioned the Hawks have some difficult decisions coming up with Horford etc etc. Maybe Schröder or Teague can be dealt to help other needs. Does anyone recall what superstars could have been available the last few years or longer when the Hawks were winning?
  10. Playoffs are a whole different animal vs the regular season. The way I look at the East conference someone as to finish 2nd and 3rd etc etc. you could pull the teams out of a hat. Remember also teams like San Antonio, Golden State and Cavs their probably not 100% focused on blowing out the other team the whole game so they let up. I think this happens to the Hawks giving us a false sense the Hawks are not that far off to beating the Cavs for one game out of the series. Laughable at best there needs to be huge improvement to compete and win. Whether management makes moves tells you how dedicated it is to winning championships. My feeling is Hawks management just wants to make the playoffs and make the money teams get. They are satisfied but if your a fan and want championships this doesn't seem to be the team to root for. Since new hawk management as been here a short time we shall see how serious they are to winning and competing for a championship. We get rapped up way to much hoping for our teams to win but management knows what it is doing and could care less what fans think. As long as they make the money that comes with making the playoffs their satisfied.
  11. Just a guess but something needs to be done. If he remains at center then Milsap probably needs to be traded. I don't think Sap can play small forward. Sap gets outsized by bigger players and as a hard time scoring. This is 2 yrs in a row where the Hawks have been badly outrebounded vs the Cavs. Horford had 1 rebound last game and that is a problem.
  12. Noah can be a free agent wouldn't surprise me if the Hawks tried to sign him. They would Al also move him to power forward.
  13. I knew last year when the Hawks played in the ECF they were missing leadership. No one on the Hawks shows it which is a good reason the team seems not focused. You ever notice how Cleveland goes out and adds more to their team at the trade deadline? The vet players are important that can show leadership. Jefferson and Frye could have been acquired but I guess the Hawks felt they were set with their roster. Of course if you have a chance to play with Lebron your chances of winning a championship go up much higher. No one on the Hawks wants to be the vocal leader and get on players when they don't perform. It's certainly an issue that needs to be addressed.
  14. When your expected to be a leader and one of the best players on the team you have to show up and play big in the playoffs simple as that. When you don't then are you really a player that can be depended on during the most important part of the season. Also do you want to give a ton of money to a player not producing like he should in the playoffs. Hawks seemingly have made that mistake with Sap will that happen to Horford? I think Al needs to play power forward and while I wouldn't pay him max dollars I'd py a good amount to keep him. It would mean Sap could be gone and others to get the pieces needed to compete with the Cavs.
  15. So if Al is playing outside then your power forward needs to get the boards and it ain't happening. If you look at championship teams and teams that want to be champs they our always trying to find ways to beat their head hunchos of the league. Boston in the 80's were champs then came the Pistons then the Bulls etc etc. You find hat you need and go out and get it. I don't see that with the Hawks (however the owner as only had the team 1 yr). After watching the Cavs embarrass the Hawks don't you think some big changes are needed? Its to bad Mason Plumlee isn't available Portland stole him. Same with Kanter with OKC. Why can't the Hawks find a big man that can board and move Horford to pf? Sap gets eaten up by bigger players when trying to score. The is no consistent sf and sg. I see alot of holes and to make just a few minor changes won't get it done. I would put everyone onthe market just to see what they could bring.I think Conley of Memphis is a free agent? If so Teague and Schröder won't be first choice but there as got to be some team wanting a young point guard that could offer a good package. Philly needs a point guard in the worst way.I would try to deal with them for Okafor. If not noah sign him as free agent and maybe you could deal a point guard for a sf or sg. Not sure if sap as alot of trade value he is 30ish. No way you want to bring near the same team back your just asking to get bounced like the last 2 yrs in embarassng fashion v the Cavs.
  16. Typical Hawks team flawed. Every off season you see how good organizations continue to add talent no matter if their loaded while the other teams that are satisfied where they are do nothing. Will see if losing this series makes Hawks management mad enough to actually do something big to improve the team.
  17. If the Hawks went back to being a lotto team wouldn't be so bad IF THEY PICK THE RIGHT PLAYERS. Billy Knight handicapped the franchise terribly by not picking the best players thus you had an extended era of losing. If you had a GM that knew how t evaluate players the franchise would reap the benefits. Having Bud making the decisions on the players not sure if that is good. Yeah he should know what he needs but as we see with his coaching in the playoffs alot to be desired.
  18. I saw he was injured alot this year and lost his starting job. Maybe teaming with Horford would be a good idea. Al really needs to play power forward which would mean Sap would be traded. I think Sap gets eaten up vs bigger forwards which is why he is having issues vs Cleveland. I read up on the Jaylen Brown kid said he compares to Jason Richardson (dunk artist) awhile ago. Hawks need some excitement to the team. I doubt you could get Gallernari and the 7th pick . Gallernari avg 19.5 pts and 5 boards a game.I'd trade Teague or Schröder for the small forward. I don't think you'd have cap space for Harrison Barnes since he'll probably get a max. There's bound to be a good small forward available for either Teague or Schröder.Hawks would no longer get killed on the boards vs bigger teams.I know rookies sometimes have a hard adjustment so alot of pressure would be on Brown. Anyway that would certainly be a different lineup that would shake things up. Don't get me wrong I like Milsap but he struggles to much vs bigger players so if I had to choose I'd keep Horford. 1.Horford 2.Noah 3.?? 4.Schröder or Teague 5.Brown
  19. Also Noah would fit what Hawks need and add a spark. I doubt Chicago lets him go and will outbid anyone.
  20. I'm down with it lets get a deal done. Hawks need to do something to shakeup the team.
  21. How about a player or two that can hit the big shot at crunch time? How about a low post player that can grab rebounds and defend. I don't think Al is the answer. Keep Sap or Horford but not both. Doubt Sap as much trade value and I don't think he can play small forward. Two wing players is a necessity that can create their own shot/dribble on the floor. Now to get the players needed Teague or Dennis would probably be in a deal. I am not sure other than free agency how to get the other players. I don't think Barnes should be a max player but it will take a big contract to land him since most players don't want to come to Atlanta. I'm watching Toronto and OKC and they have better big men than Al.Hawks need to find another big man.Not sure if you can keep Al but if you do another big needs to be found to develop and come in to offset players like TT of Cleveland.
  22. I'm going to say the Hawks win tomorrow night to make the series 2-1. After getting their heads handed to them and the public outcry the Hawks muster a win at home to get the monkey off their back. Their probably tired of all the bad talk plus the pride factor. When a team demolishes you like the Cavs did last game you hope the Hawks can provide a little pay back. I think the next 2 games the Hawks lose and lose the series 4-1. It will be interesting to see if the Hawks can make the games competitive. Sure it was competitive the 1st game but I think it was more due to the fact Cleveland hadn't played in 8 days. Now if the Hawks get blown out especially tomorrow night wonder what management will feel about the team then. Hawks haven't beat the Cavs I think its now 9 games in a row. Also most of those game were not competitive. I realize the hawks played some of those games close for awhile but when it mattered the hawks didn't have the go to man at the end or the cavs were up big and just let up to make the game competitive.
  23. Man up and let your play do the talking. Basically it appears the Hawks have a bunch of wimps. I mean the other team is stomping on your #@#$ss and you continue to let it happen. Your paid to stop the other team yet where was the defense? The other team isn't going to let up lesson learned I hope. Coach Bud I don't think he is tough enough on his players. He also should be putting in bench alot earlier not letting things get out of hand when it's to late. I heard the owner of the Hawks was upset the way the team played. GOOD. Maybe changes will finally be made. I'd rather change the team with some big moves then keep the status quo. Hawks have made the playoffs the last year but still are regarded as light weights. You can only get good and build the team but getting high up in the draft to get some impact players or sign some good free agents. I would deal anyone on this team to build the team the right way. Hopefully the Hawks management can see they are nt in the same league as the best teams and finally decide they need to go into a different direction.
