  1. This is why I say lets see what the Hawks due at full strength. If they go deep in the playoffs then the theory of the team has enough talent is good enough for naysayers however if they fall flat again in the playoffs what will your excuse be?
  2. Greatest rival the Cavs. Right now they look like the cream of the Eastern Conference. Hawks will be fighting it out with the Bulls and Toronto for 2nd best record and the surprise teams should be Miami and Milwaukee.Team I want to beat the most is the Cavs in the playoffs. Regular season means something but the playoffs as we saw is the deciding factor who is better.
  3. For the Spurs it was mainly due to injuries for the simple reason the Spurs have been there done that as far as winning championships. They have proven players unlike the Hawks. You simply can't say that regular season games are the same as post season games. The Hawks found out and now will see this year how they do in the regular season and in the playoffs. I'd rather win 50 games in the regular season but be fully healthy come the playoffs then we can see how good the Hawks are. This was the first taste the Hawks have had going far in the playoffs so will see if they have learned anything or will it be the same Hawks team the previous 7 years who seemed to just want to make the playoffs and get bounced in the 1st round.
  4. Don't forget other teams will be better and will see if teams adjust to the Atlanta style of play like the Wizards,Nets and Cavs who pushed the Hawks in each series.
  5. Lets see behind Korver you have Bazemore, Hardaway and now Holiday. Alot of shooting guards so I wonder if a trade is in place to reduce the number. None of them are protype small fowards so I wonder if the Hawks may be packaging one of them.
  6. Still Nowitski is on his last legs so what player in the prime of his career would want to go to Dallas since they really don't have much. Jordan was going to be the man and up his game but with Durant,Horf, Howard they are already fixtures with their teams and all will get the max anyway no matter what team they end up with.
  7. Well Cuban can go get Pero Antić now. Pero is outstanding creating floor space.
  8. He isn't going to play much with the Warriors. If he wants playing time come to the Hawks but he'll have to earn it.
  9. I think Bud is just looking for diamonds in the rough.
  10. CHAMPIONSHIP! The king has arrived!
  11. How some guys get a high powered job in the first place pretty ridculous!
  12. There is a reason you don't see this situation happen much players when they give their word honor it. Jordan should have waited to give his verbal consent instead of doing this. I hope other players don't do the same thing. If he has doubt put a clause in the contract he can ot out after one year. Now Dallas seems screwed because they might lose him.
  13. Agree this is a poor decision on Jordan's part. I just heard Jordan initiated the talks 2 days ago. If he goes back to the Clips it just means poor integrity on Jordan's part and the Clips going out of bounds to get their player back.Your word means nothing if you renege on it.Dallas set up their team to land Jordan now he wants to back out. Just put a clause in the his contract he can opp out after one year if he doesn't like it.
  14. Yep I wish the Hawks could make moves like this instead of aimng towards marginal players like Wes Johnson etc etc. The Cavs were at the right time right place since they sucked for awhile after Bron left they had all those high draft choices. Bron came over allowing them to keep their high drafted picks giving them bird rights and making the move for Love. I still don't get how Bron can be signed he doesn't have Bird rights or early bird rights. Now is the time to stack your lineup but unfortunately the Hawks can't due anything due to the cap. It all starts with bird rights (signing your own players over cap which is what alot of premier teams are doing signing their own over the cap.
  15. The sad part about it even if the Hawks create enough cap space for another max player (even if Horford gets max) there really isn't any good options after Howard and Durant who everyone will be trying to get. I don't see Dwight leaving Houston it would wreck their franchise. Take a look at the available free agents for 2016 outside a few there aren't very many options. Also players who can be free agents due to player option the list is very short and not much to get. About the only way the Hawks are going to get a good player is if they deal Schröder or Teague in a trade. It's to bad the Hawks didn't have money this year since this would have been the best time to add talent not next year. The Hawks won't let Horford walk they'll sign him to a max contract but will Horford put up big numbers in the playoffs? Although teague's contract is not up next year will he show up in the playoffs? While the Hawks had outstanding success in the reg season what if the 2 guys the Hawks count on put up lackluster numbers again in the playoffs. When do you make a big change because you can only blame injuries so long. Now if they shine in the playoffs great but I have come to the point where its best to show me instead of paying a ton of money just on the potential when it never materializes.
  16. Wouldn't surprise me if the Cavs still trade Haywood and add another player. They just keep finding ways to add talent to their roster. So how did the Cavs have room to get Williams? Apparently they have the system down sign your own players at the end so you can get your cap to 67 million without signing your own and then sign all your own free agents for mega millions. Wonder what the Cavs budget will be. This is like dealing with the New York Yankees. How does a Hawks salary of 67 million able to compete with over 100 million dollar Cavs team.
  17. Just have to keep winning then the Hawks will have a tradition.
  18. The rich get richer.West is still a good player Spurs get another decent power forward. It's to bad the Hawks can't find a way to get a decent player to come to the Hawks. I know Hawks are over cap but this is when you find a way to add another piece. For 1.5 million Spurs get West. Yes San Antonio has tradition and are expected to possibly win a championship but maybe one day a decent free agent will sign with Atlanta after all the Hawks did win 60 games last year.
  19. Good question I would like to know that as well. Cleveland seems to write the rules when it comes to fanagaling the cap. Need an extra $20million no problem let me sprinkle some of this magic dust to create more cap room.
  20. http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/13202763/cleveland-cavaliers-interested-joe-johnson-brooklyn-nets Gee another day another rumor about the Cavs landing another player.
  21. Yep I just saw that this might need its own thread.
  22. I highly doubt the Hawks would have got out of the 1st round let alone conference finals if they were in the West this past year. Brooklyn and Washington the Hawks barely made it past those teams.
  23. Well will agree to disagree I'll take LA. Yes this will be the year we can put to rest were the Hawks as good as their 60 wins. Anyway that is for another thread.
  24. I see the Cavs are interested in David West. Lets see they have TT,Love,Varajo and still want to add another power forward/center type going 4 deep. The Hawks lets see small forward Thabo ,maybe Korver then ??? The Cavs learned last year injuries are part of the game and still want to improve the Hawks well I hear their after the likes of Wes Johnson....championship.
  25. The Cavs have something up their sleeve called hocus pocus. Just watch the magician pull another rabbit out of its hat. Pretty insane they can make all these moves within the cap. I know bird rules, if it wasn't bird rules they would find another way to get the players they want on their roster. Must be nice to have the king on your side.
