  1. Right now i can only think of 1 team - Sacramento Kings. The Kings were VERY VERY CLOSE of beating the LAKERS. 1 call could have affected the entire SERIES... ex: Bibby getting run over by Kobe and NO FOUL... any team that takes the lakers to 7 games is a GOOD COMPETITIVE team for the lakers. But is there other teams out there that gives the LAKERS are hard time?
  2. "Yeah and Peja still will airball shots in important games and Webber will choke again. It will not matter because Shaq/Kobe are the best one two combo in the league." -Bro! 1 shot... and ur rep is on the line. Talk about PRESSURE! Everyone has their bad days. Peja was coming out of an injury, give the man a BREAK. Its kinda like the time KOBE BRYANT AIRBALLED THE LAKERS OUT OF THE PLAYOFFS... but should we bash on Bryant? I just hate it when MEDIA/FANS beat up on ANY PLAYER in ANY SPORT for 1 crucial mistake...
  3. I voted so we can attempt to go ALL-THE-WAY even if it means losing in the 1st/2nd round. If we are a 6-8 playoff seed, how do we beat the higher seed teams? Its called an UPSET! The Knicks did it couple years ago as the ONLY 8th seed to go to the CHAMPIONSHIP GAME. In the playoffs, records mean close to NOTHING... the atmosphere is different and the attitude is different. Anything goes once u are in the playoffs. Also if we TANK THE SEASON... CAP is rite- we get 0 respect. We will hear more comments like "hawks are a CUPCAKE TEAM" and etc.
  4. Im not a big NFL fan so can someone answer this question? I do like the support and watch the Falcons games. I know last year, they were a game or 2 behind from playoffs... so what are we looking at here? Are we in better/worse shape now comparing to last year?
  5. We all know that this team rite now (w/o injuries) can take us anywhere from seed 6-8 and a victory in the 1st round (hopefully). We also know that this isint a championship team that can take us all the way. Understanding these two statements, what route would u guys rather have? 1)Not try so hard and get a very bad record so we can have a good shot at the lottery (possibly getting LEBRON JAMES?). 2)Try our hardest and get some respect in the league as a mediocre playoff team.
  6. "That Shaq was the Youngest player in the History of the NBA to reach 5000 points.... Did you know that Shareef was the second youngest?" - do u think KOBE BRYANT would be able to beat SHAQs record considering the fact that he came to the NBA at such a young age and has been far in the playoffs MANY TIMES?
  7. This trade is only for contraversial matters- do not take it too seriously (something to talk about since the offseason is kinda boring). But what if we trade ABDUR-RAHIM for BRYANT? THE BAD: 1)Oneal and Abdur-Rahim would make lots of history as the best PF/C in the league now and future. 2)Lakers are definitely champions for couple more years without any competition. THE GOOD: 1)Bryant can bring lots of fans. 2)Bryant and Terry would be a hellva backcourt. PG: Terry, Dickau SG: Bryant, Glover SF: Johnson, Newble, Kukoc PF: Ratliff, Henderson C: Mohammed, ?

    JT

It was LATE at night when i said JT was the 3rd best PG. I cant believe i forgot about KIDD. by fault...
  9. "SAR/Toni for Matrix/Stoudamire/Penny" - whats the point of doing that? Whats the difference? We shoulda just drafted PAU GASOL then. Heres a weird thought but what u guys think? SAR for KOBE BRYANT! SAR + ONEAL = CHAMPIONS FOR A LONG TIME!!!!

    JT

" He is a big PG at 6'6'' " - Try 6'1" 190 lbs... Where did u get 6'6" Jason Williams from? While he did average 8 apg last year, he is turnover-prone and is of no use in the 4th quarter. Williams will only bring in more fans, but not more wins... But Terry can play the point. He is the 3rd best PG in the east behind Davis and Miller (i believe)...
  11. remember this is still the Bulls that had a 21-61 record last year (tied WORSE RECORD IN THE LEAGUE and worse record in the eastern conference- btw GS WARRIORS is the other team with the same record). The only change is the fact that they now have JAY WILLIAMS. I mean JAY WILLIAMS is a respectable PG that can hold his own ground against the top PGs in this league, but he isint a JASON KIDD. No way the bulls are contenders this league, maybe next year but not this year. You wont see a DRAMATIC increase in wins... u will see a gradually increasing number of wins each season. AT BEST- they will have our record last year (33-49)
  12. TERRY & ABDUR-RAHIM is a better 1/2 punch than LEWIS & ROSE. I think Ratliff can contribute more as the 3rd player contribution to the team than anyone on that team. Jay Williams will have the impact of a rite now DION GLOVER. I can see 14 ppg, 5 apg type numbers... but dont hold me to it.

    JT's street jam

its good to have nice role models like him in the sports industry...
  14. there has been like 3 different posts about ED GRAY lately... kinda late on the news bud. but hey, its all good..
  15. "Moses Malone - He coached Hakeem?" - did he? if so, when? Terry Porter is a good idea... i like the idea of having a POINT GUARD lead a team. He can bring the TEAM concept to ATL. Jeff Gundy would be nice with all the experience... but he has more opportunity and better coaching jobs elsewhere (not to mention higher coaching jobs- like HEAD COACH).
  16. Reef for Pippen and Terry for Anderson... that'll be a real upgrade. (being sarcastic)
  17. "reef is better than wallace and wallace always is getting in trouble...." - Ben Wallace has been getting into trouble? Is that true or were u talking/thinking about RASHEED WALLACE? Ben Wallace is the DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR but not good enuf to handle Reef. Reef scored 50 points on him last year and it was quite a show! I think we need REEF more than wallace. Wallace and Ratliff would be the 2 best BIG MEN DEFENSIVE WISE, but together they cant score if their life depended on it.... Wallace's offense is NASTY.
  18. New York needs a center in the worse possible way. They would love to have Nazr Mohammed. Mohammed + Glover for SPREWELL? PG: Terry, Dickau SG: Sprewell, Email SF: Johnson, Kukoc PF: Abdur-Rahim, Henderson C: Ratliff, ? We have a good starting 5.. we just need role players to surround them..
  19. Dolfan23 is rite... I never thought about that. NCAA is losing a lot of talent. Kobe Bryant and Tracy McGrady could have easily created some SCHOOL RECORDS and NCAA records by going to school. Its also going back to FUNDAMENTALS. I know lots of guys who just like to dunk when they cant do a LEFT-HANDED LAYUP.
  20. I dont think NEWBLE is even heard of OUTSIDE ATL. I think we are the only ones (other than other star SGs.. hehe) that knows NEWBLE. If i was KOBE and Newble shut me down for 1 game, ill be thinking "ima get him back next game" other than "we really need to sign this guy!" With RODGERS still on the table, the hawks are the only team interested in NEWBLE. I can see an average of MIN - $1.5 Million a year type contract. How many years? my best guess is somewhere between 1-3.
  21. its close to weaseldom... 1)Hornets - they have the best BIG MEN in the east. Campbell and Brown are very solid underrated players. If u dont believe me look at their stats. And as backup they have BIG JAMAL who can easily start CENTER for many teams in the east. His only problem is being foul prone. This team is the most well-rounded team. 2)Nets- While the backup PG is still in search, they still have JASON KIDD (best pg in this league). Assuming they are injury-free... they can easily go to the finals again. 3)Celtics- Pierce and Walker are one of the leagues best 1/2 punch. Battie is a good center in the east and Baker could do some damage as a PF in the east. This team is a pg away from being a very good team. 4)Pistons- i think they got really lucky last year. The schedule was in their favor and they were injury-free. This team did get Billups and i see them being in the playoffs again. 5-7)Pacers- Reggie Miller is probably the best SG in the east (Allen may bring up contraversial matters). When its clutch time, Miller always delivers on time. He also has good support with BMiler, Artest, and Oneal. 5-7)Magic- I dont like the cockyness of McGrady, but i gotta admit... hes damn good. He himself can get this team to the 7th seed or so. Him + someone stepping up (Miller or Hill) can do some damage. Only if they had solid big men- Ewing and Grant are too old. 5-7)Hawks- we improved the MOST in the east (IMO). It feels like we signed Ratliff as a free agent this year. Abdur-Rahim + Terry got us to the record last year... i wonder how much Ratliff could help? We only had Newble for half the season, but now we have him for a full season (we'll- we're suppose to). Now we can use Kukoc, Glover, and Dickau. Its like a WHOLE NEW TEAM. 8)Heat- take out their NASTY start last season, and they improved a lot. Kinda like us, this team had a winning record after the allstar game. A healthy Zo, Grant, Jones, and Butler could help them make the playoffs. NO PLAYOFFS- bucks: they didnt make it last year and i dont see them improving this year. AGE issues are coming up, i see trades happening this year or next. raptors: Carter is good but he has no cast support other than Petterson. The situation here is similar to Orlando's. The big men are getting old. Now take away CLARK, they need to go back to the draft. wizards: this team has talent and MJ (which is always helpful). They'll go to the draft... i'll be surprised if they make the playoffs this year. knicks: Abdur-Rahim + Mohammed got us to where we were last year. McDysse + Kurt Thomas? I see them doing doing worse than us. Houston and Sprewell can do damage, but they have no support after the big 3 (mcdysse, sprewell, houston). bulls: still too young. But Williams + Rose would be fun to watch. Cavs: they even told us that they're not going to make the playoffs... all i gotta say is "GOOD LUCK TRYING TO GET LEBRON JAMES NEXT YEAR"
  22. Ralph Sampson could have easily been added to the list of ALL TIME GREAT CENTERS including EWING, OLAJUWAN, and ROBINSON. But his playing days were cut short like Benard King...
  23. TRACEMAN is ABSOLUTELY RIGHT! How can u say LARRY BIRD was maybe #50? People consider him top 10 player of NBA HISTORY. He could pull a jumper on anybody's face. Yes i do think Nique should be added to the list. But there are MANY better players than Nique on that list.
