  1. Im happy to hear the news... while i love sprewell's game- hes not worth jason terry.
  2. at times im excited and other times i feel like he has no clue whats going on. college coaching success does not translate to NBA coaching success... same as saying "college ball success = NBA ball success" i hope he understands the system this year and gets us rolling...
  3. i was playing at a local park, and who do i see? an ED GRAY clone. While the face/height had some similarities, he was clearly not the real ED GRAY. Although the guys game was JUST LIKE ED GRAY. He was trying to be the 2-guard in my PICK UP GAME. Mr BRICK.... shooting like 1-10 in 3's. Our team had 3 other players who looked like were going to do some damage soon, and 1 guy still getting the feel of the game... and here he is ED GRAY CLONE- popping 3's and laying bricks. Brick after brick. and then Brick again. We lost that game and guess what the guy says? "man guys, my shot was off today" - HELL YEAH! it doesnt take an Einstien to figure that out. and guess what else he says? "i was the only guy putting up numbers" - [censored], he took more shot attempts than the other 4 players combined. And the other 4 had the better shooting percentage. IF U SITE THIS ED GRAY LOOK-A-LIKE AT UR LOCAL PARK, DO NOT PICK HIM UP! INSTEAD, LET THE OTHER TEAM PICK HIM UP... AND LEAVE THE GUY OPEN AS HELL. HE COULDNT HIT p*ssy IF THE GURL WAS A **********.
  4. not saying that we should trade JOHNSON, but it could be an option. I remember HOUSTON wanting JOHNSON in the draft, if he came down couple spots. Maybe like JOHNSON + ? for MOBLEY?

    A few comments

KB21- u took the words rite out of my mouth. Im glad the RUMORS are false. JT and REEF can really do some damage in this league. We just need 1 more consistant offensive threat.
  6. why?- b/c theres no player in the NBA with a last name ODOEM. Assuming ur talking about Odom, Sterling will laugh if we flirted with a DION/ODOM trade. Dion + Ratliff for Odom and then he'll start listening...
  7. couple things i noticed about the SHAW summer league. 1)GLOVER is putting on a show. Hes hitting most of his shots and his numbers are impressive. So far hes the MVP of the shaq summer league. 2nd place = RICHARD JEFFERSON. Both players are showing what it takes to become a good player in this league. Do u think Glover's GOOD PLAY will get him the starting spot during the preseason instead of Newble or Johnson? 2)Did u see POSTELL's numbers? Hes ppg is respectable on paper, but hes shooting way too much and not making enuf of his shots (his shooting percentage STINKS). talk about ball hog! no way hes going to take HOUSTONS place in the starting lineup with that kind of shooting touch.
  8. "not cyman aka defense3 aka hawksfan1 lol" -yea, i didnt get that "ME TOO" stuff. It wasnt me DIESEL. I forgot how long i was here. I didnt post at AA, but did at the EZBOARD for a while. I remember the days which DIESEL/WALTER would fight and TRACEMAN was usually on walters side. Therefore walter must have been traceman... lol i started posting at THAT OLD NBAINSIDER website. not too many people posted there. I forgot how i came here... i think there was a link at the old site and i started chatting here.
  9. Man- it looks to me like GARNETT is plain out mad. read this article from espn... Q: Are you overpaid? KG: Hell no. If anything I'm underpaid, with everything I do. That's a ridiculous question. I have to do everything for this team. Q: Are you tough enough to play in the Western Conference? Maybe Minnesota should move to the East. KG: Man, I've been in the Western Conference for seven years. Holdin' it down. Nobody there scares me. Look at my numbers. You know my rap sheet. Q: What are your numbers? KG: Twenty, ten and five. Twenty, ten and five. Three years in a row. And I'm rounding down. Who else has done that? Q: What does that get you? KG: It gets you what it gets you. Q: Does it get you out of the first round? KG: We'll get out of the first round when everybody does their part. Players, coaches, management, everybody. I can't do everything by myself. It'll get us past the first round if m-----------s do their part. Q: Word on the street is that you're soft in the fourth quarter. KG: F--- you talkin' about? That's not what I hear. Q: What do you hear? KG: That KG is the m---------ing s---. Niggas know. My peers in the league know what I'm about. Q: What have you learned about the fourth quarter? KG: To not pass the ball if we're losing. Q: Did it hurt you when your idols criticized you? [During the playoffs, Magic Johnson and Charles Barkley were highly critical of Garnett for not "stepping up" in the fourth quarter.] KG: That was just them being d---s. They were just looking for a camera. Besides, they're not my idols anyway. Q: Has Kobe ever dunked on you? KG: That's a stupid question. No. Kobe has never dunked on me in his life. Q: Are you and Wally better than Kobe and Shaq? KG: [Long pause] No … it hurts me to say it but we're not. I just … [sigh] ... we just aren't. Q: Why did you skip college? KG: At the time I felt like going pro was the only way I was going to make something of my life. Besides college ain't s---. It's like slavery, they're trying to f--- the kids. You gotta get your education but I made a decision for me. http://espn.go.com/magazine/palmer_20020715.html what u guys think about GARNETT?
  10. Last year and the year before, i stressed a trade for kenny anderson. I thought it was one of the FAIREST trades out there. Kenny Anderson for Alan Henderson. Both are veterans, have about the same salary, and could be used by the other team. But now we already have a backup PG and Boston is filled with many PFs- walker, rodgers, etc can all play that position. They need Anderson more than Henderson, and same with us- Henderson more than Anderson. I remember in the playoffs last year, Anderson stepped up here and there. I think Boston is starting to like him and appreciate what he's doing! Maybe henderson could do the same here!

    Thinking ahead

remember how the falcons had their "DIRTY BIRD" dance during the run at the SUPERBOWL. We should have something flashy like that on the court. I like the CLIPPERS and their fist-to-head connection. Its catchy, and i like it!
  12. "Iverson completed 100 hours of community service, two years of drug testing and three years' probation, after which his record was expunged." Rider probably wouldnt even show up for the community service. Anyways i dont think we are in a position to judge Iverson. I dont know him personally so i cannot say bad things about him. But i have seen him play on COURT, and hes very good. Hes a warrior. Broken this, fractured that... he will still play in the game. HE LOVES THE GAME- hes pure heart and the fans could see that. If we are somehow able to keep ABDUR-RAHIM and TERRY, we should trade for IVERSON- but i dont think he'll come for cheap. Sixers will want another ALLSTAR in return.
  13. Newble shot 7 times and made 1. If Alan Henderson shot 2 3-pointers in his life and made all 2, does that make him the best 3 point shooter in the NBA? He must be better than BIRD in shooting 3s, he shoots it 100%! C'mon, ive seen Newble shoot the 3 two times. Both times was in a situation where the clock was winding down and he had to hit some RED in order to keep the possession alive. Other than the 3 point category, Newble is CLEARLY BETTER!
  14. I would like to trade with the la clippers. they are overloaded with talent. IMO- they are the most talented team in the NBA. Only if they can find a SOLID BIG CENTER and have some team chemistry, they would be in the playoffs. They are very capable of making the playoffs this year.
  15. Thats a well distributed basketball! I too think you are stretching a little on these numbers, but i think ABDUR-RAHIM will average more than 20 ppg. Hes our GO-TO guy so its just a gut feeling he'll put up more than that. I would LOVE to see DJ breakout and average 15 ppg. That would really help. He has the potential to be our 3rd scorer in the lineup. What about bench support? I think HENDERSON and KUKOC are both capable of coming in for limited time and give us 8 ppgs.
  16. We made some bad moves, but all teams have. for ex: KNICKS = Federick Weis in the first round. He's most famous for being DUNKED ON BY CARTER. Many teams have drafted first round busts. We had our share of Bowdlers. as far as trading ex: Divac for Bryant. So Kobe didnt want to be a Hornet. The latest bad trade we made was JR RIDER + JIM JACKSON. If Rider wasnt such an a** and was more team-oriented, it could have worked out FA ex: Oneal to LA. I think all 29 teams in the NBA wouldnt mind having Oneal as their starting C. We had Mutombo sign with us. That was a great move and guarenteed us to the playoffs each year. OVERALL - we had good moves and bad moves. I dont think we are the WORSE MANAGED TEAM. I think Babcock is the average GM.
  17. Newble didnt have any POSTSEASON numbers so who u comparing Rick Fox's 17 points and 16 points with? TY CORBINS? -If Newble was given the opportunity to play next to BRYANT and ONEAL, and i can see him doing the same. Oneal is always doubled if not tripled. "A guy who would embarrass the franchise or a guy who has consistently shown he can be a scoring threat when he needed to be." -How is Newble an embarassment? He was the GLUE that change the losing attitude for the hawks. He held many STAR SG's to under 20 points night in and night out. Our attitudes started to change and we started winning. I dont call that an embarassment. A guy has a very good games and u call him "a scoring threat when he needed to be?" You mention his good games, but what about his bad games? Let me guess, he didnt need to be a scoring threat at the time.
  18. "As a Starting PG, Fisher has 4 championship rings." Since Fisher has 4 championship rings, he must be better than Stockton who has 0 championship rings. C'mon Fisher was on a SLUMP through the playoffs- esp KINGS if i remember correctly. I think EMMANUAL DAVIS at starting PG for LAKERS could take them all the way!
  19. "Fox is much better than Ira... Poll the group, who would they rather have... Fox or Ira." - Diesel there you have it. If u want Fox to win, u shoulda asked "who has the better looking wife" or "who has the better coach!" Fox: 27.9 mpg, .421%, .313 3PT%, .824 FT%, 4.70 rpg, 3.5 apg, .82 spg, .26 spg, 7.9 ppg Newble: 30.3 mpg, .498%, .143 3PT% (1-7), .852 FT%, 5.30 rpg, 1.1 apg, .90 spg, .48 bpg, 8.0 ppg IN A 2.4 MINUTE DIFFERENCE (b/t playing time), Fox is the better: 1)3 pt shooter 2)paser/assist per game the two are similar PPG wise, but the other numbers should tell who the better player is!
  20. "Cyman, you change your name too damn much..." -well, i know. ima stick to this one forever though (or i plan to)! "Dickau/DJ/Ira/Hendu/Theo vs. Fisher/Rush/Fox/Horry/ and Walker" Theo Ratliff is the only candidate who's even worthy of consideration to go play in an allstar game out of those 10 players. We can both agree that Theo is better than Walker (hopefully). Horry is better than Henderson (ill give u that). Horry has the better shooting touch but both Horry/Hendos defense arent going to scare any PFs in this league. I think Fox and Newble are about equal. Fox has been in the league longer, but Newble plays better GLUE-DEFENSE than fox. They both play terrific team defensive games, but when its straight up ONE-on-ONE... Newble is the better defender. Fox does have more offensive power, but hes no threat to any team in the NBA. I say its even. Scoreboard for Forwards + center = 1.5 for hawks (theo + newble), 1.5 for Lakers (horry + fox) "Fisher is better than DD. DJ vs. Rush is yet to be seen. Rush was a steal." How can u say Fisher is automatically better than Dickau and not say the same for Rush? U say that RUSH was a steal, and i agree. Yet Dickau was a steal at the last spot in the first round. Rumors had him ALMOST going as high as the 13th-16th pick. Dont even bother looking at the comparisons. Im not saying that RUSH cant perform like Houston or Allen, its just that these days EVERYONE is being compared to an allstar. Dont be fooled. for ex- NBADRAFT.NET says KEN JOHNSON is compared to THEO RATLIFF. How about KWAME BROWN? Wasnt he the next kevin garnett? Garnett actually made an impact the first year he came out. Brown was ineffective his first year. scoreboard for guards = too damn young/inexperienced to tell. Fisher is no God, but neither is DJ. Rush and DD are graded as incomplete (we gotta see b4 we can talk). Another TIE! now the bench, Richmond and Hunter were good players and occasional allstars. But they arent capable of starting on ANY TEAM in the nba today. They are way past their prime. Richmond and Hunter dont scare off anybody in the NBA. Madsen/Medvenko are scrubs- thats all i gotta say. Shaw is probably only on the team just because the STAR player on the team (SHAQ) is very good friends with shaw. Hes EMMANUEL DAVIS with a friend named SHAQ. George is a good player, but not likely on the team after all is said and done (IMO). For argument sake, lets suppose hes going to resign. Isint Glover a poor-mans George? Our bench is A LOT better than LAKERS bench. We have 2 bench players that are capable of starting for couple teams in the NBA. LA only has one = GEORGE. - Kukoc has more offensive ablities than any of the bench players u mentioned. He could start for several teams. - Mohammed is a better rebounder than any of the bench players. He could start on many teams as well. bench = HAWKS! overall, we have a better starting lineup and bench lineup. Not "clearly better", but not exactly "barely better" either!
  21. Rookie? im the same hawksfan1 and defense3 thats been supporting majority of your trades and help fight Walter. But here, i gotta go with WALTER. I think Walter said it nice and clear. "If Shaq or Kobe gets injured, Horry, Fox, Fischer, or someone else is there to step up their offense to make up for it" - I bet Henderson, Newble, Dickau could contribute as much as Horry, Fox, and Fischer on that team. Besides other than Horry, Fox, and Fisher- no one is capable of averaging 10 ppg on that team. Ratliff here can average 10 ppg. We have more scoring options than they do. Take out BRYANT and ONEAL and on our team take out ABDUR-RAHIM and TERRY, and i think we will have a better record than them. But thats just my opinion.
  22. 1)"If JT or SAR gets injured... We automatically become a 65 ppg team." -thats like saying if SHAQ and BRYANT gets injured, the Lakers are automatically a 45 ppg team. JT and SAR both getting injured is very very unlikely. They are both durable and play almost all 82 games. PLAYERS LIKE NEWBLE make a living playing great defense, Rick Fox and Ty Corbin did it throughout their careers. 2)Huges = Vaughn + CC. Does not work DIESEL. Why would GS do this when they can straight up sign VAUGHN? I dont think they are too high on CC. Besides dont they have BLAYLOCK, LOGAN, ARENAS, and SURA that can all play PG ? Do they really need a 5th PG? 3)the only reasonable trade i see working out here is the Mohammed for ANDERSON. But if we do that straight up, it totally ruins the whole purpose of this thread. We are overloaded at SG/SF, we dont need ANDERSON especially when we dont have a backup C. The best move is NO MOVE! I understand that you're trying to bring in a consistant 3rd scorer after terry and abdur-rahim. But i think we got that covered. A)Kukoc- this guy is hard to trade, so i think we should just keep him. Besides didnt the guy have couple TRIPLE DOUBLES after he became a hawk? I think he still has a good year or two left in him. B)Johnson- when Kukoc can no longer perform, Johnson will be ready. I wish this could be the 3rd scorer on our team, but i dont see it happening this year. But he'll come around. NO TRADE IS THE BEST TRADE! unless we talking a big time blockbuster trade which would be interesting...
  23. i can see if they call Mohammed a good REBOUNDER (hes above average for a BIG MAN in the rebounding category), but a shotblocker? I think they accidently mixed up Mohammed with Ratliff.
  24. Considering Ratliff and Wallace as centers, where would u rank ABDUR-RAHIM in the east? heres the top PFs: Abdur-Rahim, Walker, Grant, Martin, McDyess, Oneal, Mason, Brown, Davis IMO, Abdur-Rahim is the best out PF. McDyess may be better, but his health is a questionmark. Martin is good but no where near the level Abdur-Rahim is. Put Abdur-Rahim on the same floor with Jason Kidd and you will see an increase in PPG. Oneal isint bad at all either.
  25. The kid is SOO RAW. His shot is sooo ugly. But hey, the kid has the height and is in the league- not me. He is full of potential, but as of now i consider him as a bust. I have more faith in JOHNSON becoming a better player than BENDER. At least Johnson has his DEFENSE down.
