  1. Having JT emerge was a very nice step for us. We all loved seeing the guy come out of his rookie mistakes and just lite it up. I wish DJ could replicate that as well. I love his defensive game. Not too many SGs and SFs can average more 1+ bpg, which DJ is very capable of doing.
  2. Cuz i have a feeling that our season can turn upside down with 1 injury to Ratliff. We are putting soo much hope into 1 person. Anyway we can fix that? Pretend we lose this guy- all of a sudden, our BIG MAN roster looks bad. Theres a BIG difference between C: Ratliff, Mohammed PF: Abdur-Rahim, Henderson, Smith and C: Mohammed, Smith PF: Abdur-Rahim, Henderson -im hoping ratliff has an INJURY-FREE season this year!
  3. If both players were in the FA market, Marshall would get getting calls from half the teams and Henderson would get getting calls from 5 teams or so (IMO). Marshall and Henderson are different players. Henderson is an undersized PF who plays inside like a PF. Marshall is more of an SF who has an all-around game. He plays more like a role-player. We could really use Marshall but he would be hard to get. I believe the LAKERS were really high on him couple years ago. Lakers dont want Henderson, ill tell u that. I think they rather have SAMALKI WAKER instead. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH ROLE PLAYERS. We need more players like NEWBLE. He knows his role, but what about others on our team. IMO- only ABDUR-RAHIM (team scorer and inside presence), Terry (create a shot by himself, second scorer), and Newble know their roles. I think Ratliff will find himself as a defensive specialist with rebounding capabilities.
  4. I seriously dont see the point of keeping him. Jason Terry is very reliable and doesnt get injured much. He missed 1 game at the end of season due to FIGHT (because of a hard foul the game b4). Dan Dickau is a good PG as well. I dont see why we should keept EMAIL. And if worse came and Terry did get signficantly injured... we can always get a GOOD PG by calling people up. 10-day contracts or so. Good PGs are all over the NBA. Matt Maloney, Cookie Belcher, El-Amin are all players that can do the job for a temp period of time. No need to keep EMAIL. Buyout his under-1-million contract
  5. Looks to me like u two are at it. At times, i too wished we had MARSHALL on our team. He has GREAT shot selections, and can do it all. -He can rebound, postup, decent shooting, defends well with long arms. But dont we have DERMARR JOHNSON? And YES, i do think we will make the playoffs. I dont know if its because i have faith or because i really do think so. Either way, i try to stay positive. BTW- take out the first half of our last season (before allstar game) and we had a WINNING RECORD. We lost to TALENTED kings by 1 point! We beat lakers as well. And thats when we had injuries facing us. Without injuries we can be a HARD TEAM TO BEAT!
  6. is great at ball handling (as i remember). But during his rookie season, i kinda questioned his dribbles. But the more he touches the ball the better he will get.
  7. take out his contract, and then re-evaluate his skills. Not bad for a backup PF? As a starter, hes a decent starting PF. As a backup, he knows how to change the flow of the game. I remember one scenario from last year. We were on a 10-0 (or so) scoring drought. Hawks were throwing bricks and he came in as a sub. First thing when he got the ball was ATTACK THE RIM. He got fouled and went to the free throw line. We started to click offensively afterwards. We need a veteran backup PF like henderson. PS- his contract isint too bad. Its bad, but not SHAWN KEMP or JUWAN HOWARD bad. Last time i checked it was a little over 6 million a year. I rather have his 6 million butt than HOUSTONS...
  8. Cuz he has Kobe Bryant and J Oneal as questionmarks while hes praising John Wallace. http://www.unc.edu/~lbrooks2/losers.html
  9. Assuming this is our roster: PG- Terry, Dickau, Email SG- Johnson, Glover SF- Newble/Kukoc, Crawford PF- Abdur-Rahim, Henderson, Smith C - Ratliff, Mohammed Thats 13 players. I think its pretty clear that Mottola and Vaughn wont be back. Babcock did say that he wanted Newble back, but do we have too many guarenteed contracts? What positions do we need to work on now?
  10. Im not attacking u either... Yeah, lets try to keep it clean here- its a better environment and makes the day a little better My opinion on the $125 deal, heck... its better than nothing On the hawks organization, its not a TOO BIG of a risk... they dont need to panic too much if they dont meet their goal. But it is another MOTIVE to win. also, more fans do help the players
  11. After a week or so of life without internet, I am BACK! So whats the major issues of hawks fans? I hear about that SEASON-TICKET GUARENTEE... with that the hawks better make the playoffs last but not least, who u think the hawks will select? SORRY GUYS for not participating in the MOCK DRAFT like i hoped.... i had some technical difficulities
  12. GOOD QUALITY PLAYERS... they are the favored "6th man" if not a starter. the rest are bench players. Russell had the TYRONE CORBIN game (defense and hit the 3 when needed), but hes past his prime. George is athletic, but i dont see him getting much better. What u see is what u get. A good OFFENSIVE SPARK off the bench player, but a little selfish at times. Harpring is a question mark. He got a decent game to be a role player in this league. But i dont see him as starter material.
  13. 1)As much as i love COOKIE, we dont have room. We need NEWBLE. After all hes done, i think we need to add him to our roster this upcoming year. Sure we dont have a PURE POINT GUARD after terry, but terry isint injury prone, plays many minutes... and if something did happen, we can sign short 10-day contracts with players like COOKIE. 2)Phil Jackson loves DEFENSIVE MINDED players (they dont need offensive help with Oneal and Bryant). Fisher (can take the charge), Bryant (very good one-on-one D), Fox (one of the best defenders on the team), Horry (good defender), Shaq (good blocker). On the Bulls team, Jackson yelled at Kukoc many times out of frustration. On the contrary i remember a time Jackson designed a game-winning play for KUKOC instead of PIPPEN (who was very angry at the time). But hey, the bulls won that game. 3)Leon Smith. With no-bad news from him this year, i think many teams would be willing to work with him. Both deals u listed are FAIR (for both teams).
  14. "this is like asking if you'd prefer to get kicked in the face, or in the nuts" hahahaha, thats a good one... but yeah its hard to determine the "better" player out of these two.
  15. Mohammed, Kukoc, Davis for Marshall, Ostertag, 19th pick works under REAL GM... We are left with: PG- Terry SG- Johnson, Glover SF- Marshall, Newble, Crawford PF- Abdur-Rahim, Henderson, Smith C- Ratliff, Ostertag and with the #19 pick + #37 pick, try to move up... wat u think? would it help us?
  16. The hawks could use this kid and he can take over the starting SF spot. Best or Blaylock at backup PG isint a bad idea either.
  17. CHICAGO #2 for MILLER straight up. Miller is the classic PASS-FIRST PG, which arent found in the NBA these days. I think majority teams would rather have Miller at PG than Terry (not all, majority). Chicago just needs to think if they want TERRY, MILLER, or WILLIAMS. i think they will go with WILLIAMS, MILLER, and TERRY (in that order).
  18. With Ratliff as the Sixers starting CENTER, who was the 2nd string backup and the 3rd string backup center? Mohammed or MacCulloch? THIS SEASON Mohammed- 26.4 mpg, 9.7 ppg, .461%, .617 FT%, 7.9 rpg, .74 bpg MacCulloch- 24.2 mpg, 9.7 ppg, .531%, .671 FT%, 6.10 rpg, 1.44 bpg Who would u rather have as starting CENTER?

    What do others want

He could be their INSURANCE just incase something goes wrong after they get YAO MING. But would we be screwed if we didnt take a center at #15? I dont like the centers coming out of this draft with execption to Ming. Even with Ming, this years centers are weak. So we have injury-prone Ratliff, and if we do this trade... we are putting our season ALL ON 1 MAN - ratliff. We do not have a decent backup C. Henderson at center for 1 game might work, but not every game! Leon Smith is a 3rd string center (at this point, but hes young and working hard). Houston still has CATO with his large contract... so with Mohammed, this leaves them with an overload at center. What if we got an extra team involved?
  20. I thought they were gonna try to resign him. I donno why, i think i read it somewhere - i could be wrong. But if they want KANDI out, Mohammed + future 1st rounder for KANDI + 8th pick?
  21. Yeah, i think we can get him. But he doesnt have good handles. He does have a shot and have speed. could come handy
  22. I think New Jersey is giving up on VAN HORN. In the crunch time, NJ went with JEFFERSON many times. Even though NJ wants McDyess, i think they will try to keep MARTIN. maybe we can get VAN HORN to play next to ABDUR-RAHIM? Only problem with that is the defensive end. Van Horn can guard the tweeners, but cannot guard quick SFs. Im talking about SPREWELL, BRYANT, MILES, etc. But on the offensive end, he can hit them 3's. Gives us another 3 point threat to the team.

    Checkout Hawks.com

Yea, i too think its just the camera angle. If a person is closer to the camera, he will look BIGGER in general.
  24. I dont know about this one DIESEL. I think we can do better (trading for theo). Heywood and Mohammed at center is very weak in my opinion. I wouldnt mind having the center position somewhat weak if we had a strong SG/SF. But i dont think Magette is considered a strong SG/SF. im talking about EDDIE JONES. Terry, Jones, Johnson, Abdur-Rahim, decent center (mohammed/heywood) and im cool Terry, Johnson, Magette, Abdur-Rahim, decent center and then WE HAVE A PROBLEM!
  25. There was no competition... No wonder the tv ratings are down and STERN thinks it'll be higher if they switched from NBC to CABLE TELEVISION? c'mon!
