Too many players with offseason procedures so limited training camp and preseason games. They just never seem to get in rhythm on a string on defense, plus Nate's changes to the defense as well.

Hi contract will be determined by how well he plays and how well the Hawks perform. The cap is expected to spike in 2 years, also if Bogi is still here, he'll have expired, Clint will have 1 year left.

Ayton has offensive versatility in his game but being a playmaking C he doesn't have that. Hawks still need Wing ballhandlers/creators. And this is why it will be tough starting OO at PF without his range extending- the supposed Ayton in the post gets that much more difficult without a PF with the ability to step out and hit a reliable jump shot.

Unless we're trading said lottery pick for an established player doesn't make much sense to me if the idea is to make a deep playoff run. Not saying rookies won't/can't contribute...they can contribute to your roster I just don't see them as adequately replacing a starter.

What if we don't get any of our rumored targets like Ayton, Gobert, Lavine etc.....so the core of the team returns (Trae, Huerter, Bogi, Hunter, Collins, Cap, OO, Johnson) - Hunter is HEALTHY for 82 games and becomes what we envision as the #2 like he did in game 5 vs Heat? - Huerter finally takes the leap - OO really returns with a jump shot? Better defensive rebounder And by midseason supplants Cap as the starter. - Trade Gallo and #16 for upgrades to the bench (I like my OKC idea) - resign Delon Hawks are a top 4 seed and make a deep playoff run....what then?

Huerter's thing has always been his consistency and staying engaged from game to game. I checked his high for rebounds this past season was 11....then had about 6 games with 7 and 8 rebounds.

I hope so. He's has an injury riddled 2 years so far with the Hawks. @thecampster noted its degenerative and will have to be managed, meaning he won't be a reliable starter and @Sothronindicated Bogi wants to start or be traded. Either way SG is a position that needs some attention this offseason.

Is it 'so late' though. From most reports it said he had the surgery 2-3 weeks ago. So this would have been about 4 weeks after our season ended. Time for a little down time and evaluations for best course of action. This from May 22nd: "Bogdan Bogdanovic is in danger of missing EuroBasket 2022, due to the surgery he is expected to undergo on his knee." And we know Bogi has been hanging out in California from this tweet on May 22nd, so I'm guessing he was in Cali around that time for the surgery. Since it took place there. "the procedure went in the best order, at a clinic in California. He will stay in America for another month, and then he should come to Serbia, Belgrade. ”

This pretty much sums it all up....add helping too deep in the paint when not needed making it difficult for him to get back to his man on the perimeter. His defensive activity was just not the same as it was last season and it showed up in his steals 82 vs 56. Some of this can also be attributed to Nate's defense and the changes he made to the scheme. I'll try and find the article about how it affected the team particularly Hunter.
