  1. No, I get it. When he was with the Hawks he was nothing special.....but as soon as he moved to Boston he was the best thing since sliced bread.
  2. LOL. I have not forgotten. I didn't expect either to be regular every game rotation guys, but I expected some sort of preparation for life after Gallo and Lou for this upcoming season.
  3. The man accused of killing former Michigan State basketball star Adreian Payne in Florida on Monday told police he felt threatened by the 7-foot Payne and that he was “justified” in shooting the former NBA player. – via Matt Charboneau @ Detroit News According to an affidavit filed by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, 29-year-old Lawrence Dority said he was “intimidated” by Payne’s size and believed Payne had a weapon as they spoke near a car outside of a residence in Orlando. That’s when Dority said he went inside the home, retrieved a gun, and shot Payne one time. Based on the investigation, the affidavit states Dority committed premeditated murder, and that probable cause exists to charge Dority with first-degree murder with a firearm. – via Matt Charboneau @ Detroit News Adreian Payne death: Suspect thought Payne had a gun before shooting him dead, report states (fox35orlando.com) According to the report, the father of Dority drove Dority and his son to the home to drop them off around 1:30 a.m. There was an unknown vehicle parked in the road and Dority walked over to speak to the driver. The report states that the driver was "very tall, possibly 7-feet" and that Dority "appeared to be intimidated based on the size difference and Dority's stance," according to Dority's father. Dority's father reportedly saw Dority go inside the home and then heard a shot but did not know where it came from, the report states. The father went over to the victim, identified as Payne, in the car and saw he was injured. Payne was rushed to AdventHealth Hospital East but was later pronounced dead.
  4. In case some of us forgot.
  5. It's the Offseason alright!
  6. It's going to be a very loooong offseason. It's already driving me nuts with stupid trade proposals: Here's are two for you to marinate on and then gouge your eyes out: Goberated and O'neal for Capela, Collins, Hunter, JJ and PICKS Brogdon and Buddy for Collins and Huerter
  7. These things a cyclical: Snyder, Nurse and Atkinson were the hot up and comers 2-4 years ago...in the same spot Monty, Willie, Ime and Taylor are now. The hot assistant doing well in his first few years.
  8. Let's see if he can do that again next game.
  9. Two things: 1. No one was expecting nightly contributions as part of the REGULAR rotation - just not a total of 70+ minutes 2. We had so much PG depth that Nate said 'Delon was not in the rotation' - cool story.
  10. I'll say what I always say - Al has always been a piece of the overall puzzle to winning..... just NEVER a main piece to build your team around. No team is ever game planning to stop him....he can just do what he does best while 'another' gets the focus. There is value in that: knowing your role and excelling at it, doing the little things to help your team win. THAT IS AL HORFORD!!!
  11. Draymond Green commits $100,000 to fund honoring Adreian Payne As post-game emotions ran high after Game 4 of the Western Conference semifinals, Golden State Warriors forward and former Michigan State star Draymond Green told reporters that he and his wife plan to donate $100,000 to a foundation in honor of the former Spartan basketball player who died Monday. Adreian Payne was shot and killed early Monday morning in Orlando, Florida, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. Payne, a 31-year-old native of Dayton, Ohio, played for the Spartans from 2010-14 and earned second-team All-Big Ten honors his junior and senior seasons. – via Analis Bailey @ USA Today Sports
  12. @TheNorthCydeRises Why'd you put this in NBA Draft Talk? Homecourt?
  13. As a one for one deal - I would pass considering age and injury history of Brogdan and our current glut at SG with Huerter and Bogi. (I know you posted the followup Randle trade which is a NO)
  14. I included FT line. I just haven't seen it otherwise.
  15. Do we really though? He has touch around the basket and his freethrow shooting stroke has improved, but I haven't seen enough actual shooting outside the paint to say he has 'shooting touch'.
  16. This^. Love OO but slotting him as a starter next season adjacent to Gobert and hope it works offensively does not scream 'championship' contender off the bat.
  17. You have it reversed: Schlenk challenged him to be a better defensive rebounder since his offensive rebounding was already goodm
