It's not really BS tho, unfortunately. In the NBA, there's literally about 3 franchises that typically draw free agents. The fact that we don't is not a phenomenon that's specific to us, at all. Players typically go where they've seen guys win. We don't have that pedigree so we have to do it all the hard way ... draft and trade. To do that, we have to have a plus GM. I hope we do but I'm doubtful, so I'm hoping he lucks his way into it. I don't know who that is so I can't be sure it's not from some high school show. Therefore I'm withholding comment. Somebody had to ax ... First of all, I don't like the Balls. I don't like Lonzo so much but .... I do remember him destroying us in one game and I did see him play fairly well at times before getting hurt. He clearly needs developing offensively. I think he's a good prospect in his own right ... outside all the dad/family stuff. Would it be worth taking Deng to get Lonzo plus a pick from LAL as they desperately try to make room for the free agents they really want? Eh, something to think about.

I can't lie, this whole business sours me on this kid. I really think he's trying to depress his value in order to land in CLE. I don't buy the hip stuff. Why would his 'camp' leak that? Sorry, that doesn't come out unless his camp leaks it. This is gamesmanship to make sure certain teams pass on him.

I expect that 20-per to turn into like 12-14 or so. And I'm being kind with that assumption. I can't believe how many folks expect him to come in and tear up the league with no hiccups. It's unfathomable. Also consider this, by the time the season starts, he will have played something like 115-120 games in like a 6-8 month span. Not AAU, summer league "games". Real games. His numbers are already dipping over there because of sheer exhaustion. But he's supposed to come here and light the world on fire? He'll be lucky to get through half the season before he'll be on the shelf with an overuse injury. If we take him, I'll become the biggest fan of his in the world. But I expect us to have to keep searching for the alpha we desperately need. I hope y'all are tempering expectations. It doesn't sound like y'all are.
