Look out 2024 Play-In, here we come!
-
It could indicate that Cap is on the move.
-
I love Slow Mo, he'd be a good fit.
-
Maybe he thinks "Ciao" is French and he's off to Canada.
-
Could simply be a leak to drive up asking price of other interested teams, mainly us.
-
He'll bounce back and forth. I think there's value in playing real games with CP and practicing against the big boys when we're in town.
-
I'd rather our 3rd PG be a vet, so I'm for it. I liked Garuba as a prospect though.

Discussion about Hunter and Trae (split off from insider thread)
BangHolman replied to TheNorthCydeRises's topic in Homecourt
In his first 5 seasons compared to there's, he has. -
We're at a divide in the road that all teams come to... consolidate young talent for a star and go for it or wait and hope your current young talent develops faster than expected. Given where we are with Trae and DJM ready to compete and win, trading ONE (not even multiple) is an easy decision to go for it now.
-
OO starts at the 4. B/U signed via MLE. KAT plays the 4 on offense and OO takes the tougher match up on defense. Trae/DJM/Hunter/OO/KAT
-
If you replace JJ with AJ in the hypothetical KAT deals getting posted, does it still happen? The way I'm reading them from the other insiders is that it's Bey and JJ they want. Again, I really like all 3 of JJ, AJ, and OO, but I'm not hesitating to trade JJ for KAT and I, personally, like the fits the others have on the team with KAT a little more.
-
I'll take a stab at it. Technically, I don't think the Houston and Utah deals haven't been finalized, so I think they expand into a 4 team deal. Hawks send: JC, CC, Bey, JJ, FRP, Cash Hawks receive: KAT, TyTy, Garuba (re-routed the original Utah and Hou SRPs to Min) Jazz send: Gay, SRP Jazz receive: JC Houston sends: TyTy, Garuba, FRP, 2 SRP Houston receive: CC, Gay, Kaba rights, Cash Wolves Send: KAT Wolves receive: Bey, JJ, 2 FRP (1 Atl via Sac + 1 via Hou), 3 SRP

Reports about the Wolves talking KAT trade are starting to slip out. I'd expect those to heat up.
-
AJ is a flamethrower from 3 that can score at all 3 levels. If this KAT deal goes through, he's more valuable for team building when it comes time to trade and replace Bogi.
-
I'm very high on JJ, but if I have to trade one of the three it would be him in this scenario. I think AJ has a higher ceiling and OO provides a better defensive fit next to KAT to make up for his shortcomings. I was ready to let Jalen start before these KAT talks started.
-
I would rather trade Jalen than either Okongwu and AJ, and one has to be included in the deal. Okongwu and KAT is a dream pair.
-
They'd hang up on you
-
You can't always hold on to young talent and HOPE they become a player like Brown/Siakam when you can trade for them NOW. Under the current circumstances, trading OO hurts the least while we still have Capela. I believe AJ has the most star potential, but would trade him for Brown, and I think JJ has a high ceiling but is a walking injury risk that I would trade for Siakam easy.
-
And Coach K's tree which I think goes overlooked
-
I agree, but I assume that OO is the player that gets the deal done, not AJ or JJ.
-
I'll miss Collins, but not the version we saw last season in the slightest. However, I do wonder what a Capela deal first would have looked like because moving JC back to a pre-Cap role could have increased his value for more return than a salary dump. I need to see a full off-season of changes before I judge.
-
That's correct. Surgery is fusing his joints together and he would actually have less mobility than he already has.
-
With a center like KAT or Ayton, I would love that.
-
And he's already dealing with molding Trae. Can he handle another one? Can we?
-
Ressler cares about the team. I sit by him at games. He's on his feet, he cheers, he heckles. Against the Cavs last season, he was yelling at Rubio and calling him a bum. He's just also a business man that isn't going to pay millions for a middling team. If we aren't a contender, there's no reason to pay it. It's on the GM to make us a contender where he would pay it or get under so we have breathing room to get better.
