  1. Appears to be back before the draft. Read through Celtics channels that Brad Stevens was interested in Bey (to solidify their bench). Was willing to give a 1st. Hawks countered wanting more, tried to get them to add a player on top (Pritchard). Deal fell through. Hawks drafted KB.
  2. Call Celtics back and tell them they can have Bey now for a future 1st. Do you take their $6mil TPE, filler to flip or try to squeeze out a 2nd?
  3. Post Schlenk Luka/Trae Can’t decide if this is a circus or a reenactment of the movie Major League. I mean c’mon…it’s either that or there’s a hidden agenda here somewhere. The 35 year old GM is a Stanford grad, 5 year NBA career (2010-2015) shortened by injury. Andy and Landry show (2011)? Sing Your Face Off contestant (2014)? Hired as Spurs G League team GM 2019. Asst Hawks GM in 2020 then hired as Hawks GM 2022. - June 2022, Hawks FO led by Sing Your Face of GM completes Murray trade. - June/July 2022, Uh oh moment…then decides to try and protect his rep. - July 2022, goes out and hires someone who has NBA experience and ties to the Hawks. Enter Kyle Korver as Director of Player Affairs and development. - A random sleepless night…December 2022, Ressler…battling severe bouts of indigestion…decides to pull and look at Sing Your Face Off GM resume to make sure it said Stanford and not Samford. - January 2023, 6 months after his initial hire…wooosh…KK promoted to Asst GM. Ressler reiterates to FO and media he has final say. - January 2024, we’re waiting….
  4. Dude at the table has a remote…discreetly raising and lowering the basket an inch or two throughout the quarters. Nah never mind. We couldn’t be that lucky to have that excuse.
  5. Even with the Pacers shooting 70%…Disregard any and all optimism I may have had in this previous post.
  6. The defensive letdown needs to be addressed. But the players are also going to have to own their share of the offensive letdown too. Too many late possessions resulting in poor shot clock/game clock management…questionable shot selection…simply missing decent looks…and turnovers…all adding up to the same thing. Another key possession floundered and another late game opportunity for the opponent. With that being said…they are finally getting closer to a full roster and getting a chance to log minutes as a more complete team. The continuance of the 4th quarter issue is still concerning, but they’ve been able to overcome (or outlast…) it 2 games in a row now. Up to this point, they’ve been forced to play the hand they were dealt. But if they can keep guys in the lineup and keep logging minutes with the rotations that they actually want, they might not be far off from turning the corner.
  7. Tomorrow, Friday January 5, Triple your vote day
  8. Right. They did have some good looks and just missed them. Other times they look flustered and the shot clock is against them and they rush to get it off. Might as well be a turnover. The whole game they drive, draw double teams and dish. Or work it in then pass it back out to an open mid shot when the D collapses. Seems like as the 4th goes along their circuits go berserk and they abandone all rational thought and go haywire.
  9. I know, but take it to the hole or back it down one or the other. Keep throwing up these wonky shots. Gotta try something.
  10. They can’t hit jumpers in the 4th to save there lives. Especially the last 4 minutes. Start feeding the paint or something. Draw contact and go to the line. Can’t keep closing these games with 5 points or less in the final 4 minutes.
  11. Amazing what just a few more guys and a little more hustle can do huh? They keep this up everybody might pick their game up a notch. Dare I say Hunter, too?
  12. Nasty That Holmgren’s first poster?
  13. Bey fights off the shove and gets the block
  14. We’re much tighter through the first and beginning of 2nd. Starting to slack of a smidge. Let’s pick back up! There we go! JJ with the steal as I write.
  15. Effort looks good on both ends. Keep up the hustle. Don’t let them find a rhythm.
  16. I’d say they’re gonna have to have that bend but don’t break mentality, but it feels like that’s how it’s been all year. Plan on SGA getting his. Don’t give him free reign, still make him earn it. Focus on stopping everybody else. I don’t know if that means frequenting the 1-2-2 and hustling their a’s off or what. Just can’t be content with matching 3’s in this one. If the Hawks can stay quick and be pesky and limit uncontested looks, the frustration is going to set in when OKC’s shots aren’t falling and their offense isn’t flowing like they’re used to. Hawks bounce on missed opportunities and they can get out / stay out front or pull away.
  17. I am too. And at this point, it’s like, why not? Could provide a little spark, put some pep everyone’s step. Heck, I’d like to see AJ too. He played with some fire last year. Might be just what this team needs and push the team to play harder. We see what some of these other young guys are doing around the league. Give them a chance. I know we can’t see behind the scenes but I’d rather see what they can do rather than keep rolling out the Matts like you said. If they fall on their faces, then fine, but man…about time to change it up.
  18. I’m pretty impressed with Chet Holmgren thus far. Wasn’t expecting him to be quite as productive offensively as he’s been. Productive, sure, but he’s been that and then some. Has some pretty decent handles for 7’1 too. Caught me off guard a little last night with some of his drives.
